Spyder Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 why do all of you like them so much? The game is a very enjoyable first-person shooter, especially with the easy squad commands. The book series is also amazing. your love for the commandos grows as you read, and you don't want anything to happen to them. They come up against impossible odds, but not like in other games, movies, or books. They have to use real tactics and teamwork to survive. it's not just like they can charge in there with shields at maximum and blow everything to bits. Also, in the game, droids are alot harder to defeat. It's not like Battlefront II. The super battle droids are really super. A couple hits from them and your down for good. It factors in real life elements and is realistic. (Or as realistic as Star Wars can be ) Give the game a try, you won't regret it. Quote

I agree completely. the whole thing is so much more than a game. you read the books, and then you play th game, it is such and interacive series. and for being released in 2005(?) it is a great game! so much better than battlefront, not that hats a bad game. you can also use guns that have never been seen before the movies. it gives a real-life representation of the nitty-gritty hard daily life in the clone wars. by the way, the null class ARCs are pretty sweet also. green dewback Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Its unfair to compare both games as their overall gameplay are different, SWBF2 isn't all just about the campaign mode. Quote
ADHO15 Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 With reference to non-LEGO clones, I prefer the Clone Wars versions. I really love all the variation between their looks and their personalities (as you can probably tell if you look here). If I wanted more generic troops, like AOTC clones and stormtroopers, I would be a big fan of droids, but I'm not. My favourite sub-group of clones is the 41st Elite Legion because, although they don't have really fancy uniforms, Gree is my favourite clone and green is my favourite colour! If we're talking about LEGO clones, the ROTS ones are my favourites because the printing on those like the Scout Troopers, Swamp Troopers and Shock Troopers are all really accurate and such detail is unfortunately not seen as much on the recent clones. CloneCommanderDelta7 Posted April 19, 2009 Author Posted April 19, 2009 (edited) I have tried the game; I couldn't progress through as quickly as I thought though. I haven't read the books on Clone Commandos; the local library doesn't stock them so I have to order some books for collection at one of the mobile libraries. I like Lego Clone Wars clone Troopers because they have commanders (cody) and are more likely to have more variations (the first jettrooper) than the ROTS are going to have for a while. Plus the ROTS can't turn their helmets that well compared to the Clone Wars clones. Green is my favourite colour, and the 41st are on of my favourite legions, but I like the GalacticMarines a lot better. If lego decided to make them then I would hope they don't just have a painted Snowtrooper, because Snowtroopers are atually more different than Galactic MArines then you would think. Oky Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 I loved the Ep. III clones at first, but now that the CW clones are out, I have to vote for them. the fact that they have actual faces underneath their helmets and the customizability of their accessories make them far superior to the other clone figs IMO. Now, if TLC would release the Ep. III clones again, but with closed visors and customizable accessories, now that would be the ultimate clone for me! As for the subgroup: Jet troopers all the way!!! Although clone comanders with their fancy printing are pretty cool too. PS: Why can't we vote for Senate Commandos? Because they aren't clones? What a discrimination! Quote

Spyder Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 by the way, the null class ARCs are pretty sweet also. I just looked them up and they are pretty awesome. On a side note, I like the phase 1 clone troopers better than the phase 2 clones. And then between the Clone Wars TV show clones, and the episode II clones, I would choose the TV show clones. They give them an actual personality. Plus, the way the armor, weapons, etc. just look really nice. Since the movies concentrate on the Jedi, I'm glad that the TV show has now at least a little more attention to the clones. They play a big part in the movies. Heck, they make up the entire Galactic Empire! I also want to know how the clones felt about Order 66, and I know the Commando books go into that at least a little. Quote
green dewback Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 Scanned the back packaging of my one and only hasbro figure. My favourite clone Quote
pedro Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 Episode 2 clone troopers. Just like the original stormtrooper they are of iconic design. The new LEGO versions are awesome and their customisability is a massive plus, allowing you to create... ARCs. Definitely my favourite subgroup. Ever since seeing them in action in CWA I've loved 'em (and I have that figure too green dewback ). Quote
jifel Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 (edited) Probably the new Clone troopers with a grey antenae, then Shock troopers and the AT-ST pilot. All lookk very awesome, although the new clones hab fleshie heads, witch I try to avoid. They look awesome enough that I try to ignore that though. jifel Edited April 22, 2009 by jifel Quote
The Who Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 Clone Wars clones and Episode II clones, with the subgroup being the "Sharpshooters." I just call them snipers, but that doesn't really matter. They have always been my favorite, and I don't really know why. I guess it is because I have always been rather good with a gun, or that they just look really cool. In case nobody knows what I am talking about, I mean the troopers with Dark Red patterns that are led by Comm. Fox. Quote
Commander Flash Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Those are security troopers or something like that. My favorite are Gree and his men. And Swamptroopers are on top of my list too. Quote

I think these are the troopers he's referring to(although they are orange) These are known as Sharpshooters, and I think Commander Fox was one in ROTS. Quote

Where did you get that info from? Sergeant Fox was a member of the 501st Legion present on Coruscant during the Great Jedi Purge. Either way, neither of those troops are 'sharpshooters'. I doubt he would mean those when he said they were "dark red". The only way I could imagine you thought he meant them would be because they were 'sharpshooters' in Battlefront II, which was incorrect as they are paratroopers of the 212th Attack Battalion. The sharpshooters in Battlefront I were just clone captains, so he may have been confused between the red armour. The only person who can clear this up is Booger540. I thought so. Battlefront games normally aren't anything to go by for canon material (as great as they are! ). BF2 stated that 'clone commanders' were members of the 21st Nova Corps who carried chainguns! Quote

I have figured out with other examples that the games are not completely accurate, but they are still fun. Maybe the designers were thinking about the Galactic Marine Troopers in the Echo Base in Ep. V, and how they had to assemble a 'portable' turret in the base. They could have tried to make it a little more mobile for the game... ...but who knows. I'm basically just guessing here. Quote
