Brickdoctor Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 So just curious, for the guys who have large numbers, ho wmany do you have on display and how many do you have in boxes packed away? 'Just under 300' probably isn't 'large numbers' compared to some of the members here, but I display my older minifigs (Forestmen, Explorien, Aquanauts, etc.) and collectible minifigs. Everything else is put away, though still easily accessible. Quote
Mythos Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 we have more minifigs then we can count and just bought parts to make a few hundred more. Quote
1980-Something-Space-Guy Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 Who's got the largest minifigure collection in the world? I read this but it seems to be outdated. Quote
HighFlyer Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 I'm not very up to date with my collection on Brickset, but i'd say around 150. Quote
Hun Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 My armies count approximately 1,000 and I have ca. 250 additional individual figs (Castle civilians, Ninja, Western and Adventurers). Quote
Magnus the Great Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 (edited) I had to count them, when I saw this topic. I have 698 assembled minifigs. Most of them lack some part such as weapon, helmet or shield. Castle factions: 460 Castle civilians: 172 Castle fantasy: 23 Castle total: 655 My Castle line includes minifigs or minifig parts from CMF, HP, IJ, PotC, PoP, SW, Western & a few other themes. The sex ratio is horrible 11,84 males per female or 604 males & 51 females. In addition to the above i have Miniquins: 20 Space: 13 (Classic, Futuron & SW) CMF Cheerleaders: 4 Misc: 6 Unassembled minifigs Minifigs used for spare parts: 158 Old, used & not worthy: 92 Edited September 8, 2011 by Magnus the Great Quote
DaleDVM Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Sorry to reinvigorate a thread that has been dead for several months but I just read through the entire thing. Very interesting and thanks to all who have shared. It seemed to me that most of the heaviest collectors of minifigs (who responded) are castle people followed by star wars, city, pirates, and space. It would be obvious that army builders have the largest totals of figs. I am impressed by some who have a lot of different civilian figs from various themes. That is cool. Davey I had no idea you had that many figs. Stash I want to come over and play with your minifigs. Madoka all I can say is WOW! That is some impressive collecting! I should also say thank you. You make me look much more normal. My girlfriend and family will be glad to know you are out there somewhere, and I am not as crazy as I could be. I have somewhere over 5000 castle army figs at this point. It really can be addicting aquiring armies of figs. I am so glad I have had a little control and have stuck to just one theme. I have about 250 medieval civilians and also 200-300 figs from city and the collectable minifigs as well. I was really hoping that some of you would tell me how you keep your collections. Madoka I can see how you have to keep yours. If you lined them up not only would it take forever but the space it would take would be crazy. I keep my armies lined up on 16x32 baseplates with about 27 figs on each. 3 rows of 8 troops and a group of 3 elites/leaders/standard bearers/musicians or some combo of those in the front rank. I tend to pose all of my figs slightly differently just because they look more realistic that way. It is amazing how long it can take just to line them up and try to make the units look natural. Yes, I used to play tabletop miniature games some time back, and yes I am getting my nerd on right now. These I put into cardboard boxes that measure 1 ft. x 2 ft. by 4 1/2 inches tall. (sorry to my worldly friends but Americans are metrically challened) These are tall enough to have cavalry, standards, and large figs like the big trolls in them with now problems. I can fit 4 units in a box. This leaves enough room so they don't hit each other too much. A box adds up to a little over 100 figs. These I mark with the faction, type, and number of units. These boxes stack nicely under my plastic folding tables that I keep my large LEGO castle display on. I can keep about 2000 figs under a 6 foot table. Storing them like this keeps both light and dust off of my armies. I can either set them out or grab a few figs to MOC with very quickly. My nephew can also find exactly what he wants to play with... and then pull them out... and play with them... and he never puts them back... and that totally screws up all the work I did... and On second thought... I need a more clandestine way of storing them! Seriously though, I have found that it is important to keep them orgnanized or I spend forever looking for the right figs. Alot of my figs spend a good amount of time in their original boxes until I get the motivation to actually part out the sets. Then the figs get built and put into a large plastic bag. There they sit until I get motivated again. then I line them up, arm them, and modify them as needed. Just recently I learned not to arrange any army factions until I am certain 1)those figs are no longer being sold and 2)I am not gonna try to get any more of them on the secondary market. Nothing is more annoying than making all of your units and balancing out your army and then you get 4 more troll mountain fortress sets on clearance and it screws up both your troll and crownie armies. Then you have to order more figs on the secondary market to fill out a couple of more full units and so on. Am I being anal? And wala 5000+ figs. Quote
ACWWgal2011 Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 (edited) I just did a tally on the figures, i have a total of 303 including for junior figures. They sure can multiply fast. EDIT: had to correct the number. Forgot to add the ones from the troll fortress into my tally. Edited January 10, 2012 by ACWWgal2011 Quote
krystalKING Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Its been a while since I updated my collection, but I now own 604 minifigures, but those aren't impressive compared to what I've spent, I never imaged that I would spend more than $5000 dollars on Lego! Quote
sharky Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 According to what I have listed on Brickset I have 538 including duplicates. But, it's probably slightly more with some duplicates I probably haven't updated yet. Quote
Darkdragon Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 (edited) I don't have an exact count but I'd guess over 3000. I know I do have more than 2800 torsos cataloged, that is what I keep track of most diligently. Based on recent purchases and the box of "yet to be cataloged" torsos, that would easily bring me over 3k. As for storage, I don't keep many figs built. I have a few favorites/customs/current project figures in a case and a separate display case for each of the Collectible Minifigures, by set. Everything else is stored by part (torso, legs, heads, etc). Most parts are in small tool organzers by color, torsos are all in one bin but sorted in baggies by color and theme, heads are sorted by print (bear, clean shaven, glasses, female, pirate, monster,...etc). Oh and in general I don't build armies. ten of one design is usually my limit unless I'm working on something very specific that requires more of the same torso. Sid Sidious Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 According to Brickset, I have 207 minifigs. During freshman year in high school, we made a kind of time capsule with a letter and some stuff in it that would be opened senior year. I remember I put a minifig in the envelope, but I don't remember which one, as I was just starting to pay more attention to Lego then. I think it was just a generic town minifig. Quote
woolie Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 (edited) I have about 40 from current city sets, about 100 from classic 80s and 90s themes on display, and maybe 40 more that are too torn up or incomplete to display. I spent the evening putting them all together and displayed on baseplates, so convenient topic timing. <3 Classic Pirates by wools, on Flickr Edited February 2, 2012 by woolie Quote
