Brickthing Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 A PaB order of hairpieces, torsos and legs arrived today and hasn't been sorted yet. It's like Frankenstein's lab around here. Recently I disassembled almost all of my minifigs to their individual parts and sorted them into drawers to make a custom-minifig machine. My place is like Frakenstein's lab. Also, thanks to my minifig-machine, I have absolutely no idea how many minifigs I could call to arms if needed. But I can still destroy you all with my giant BIONICLE mecha-army! Quote
Millacol88 Posted April 19, 2009 Author Posted April 19, 2009 Like that's going to happen You're probably right. Next time I'm about to effectively poke ImperialShadows' superior army with a stick, will someone please warn me? EDIT: My post number is an airplane. Quote

mania3 Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 I mentioned earlier that I have 794 minifigures. I actually have a little goal going where I want to have 1,000 by the time I hit my 1 year anniversary as an AFOL, which is coming up on May 13th. My other part of my goal was to have 100,000 pieces total in my collection, which I'm getting close to as well. It still means I have to spend a load of money, which brings us to the other popular General Discussion topic as of late... how much do you spend on LEGO per year? Quote
Sandy Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 According to Peeron, I have 286 minifigs, but according to Brickset, only 285. But that's not the whole truth, since I have some minifigs I snitched from my little brothers when I was a kid (since they had city sets and I didn't, and I wanted some modern day male minifigs to accompany my Paradisa girls), and recently I've been buying minifigs separately, mainly from Star Wars (because all the SW sets are ridiculously expensive). These separate minifigs include Ahsoka, Rotta the Huttlet, Clone Wars Anakin, Qui-Gon Jinn, Princess Leia, Henry Jones Sr. from IJ and the old pirate woman. I keep all my minifigs sorted in pieces. Legs and torsos share a divided box, heads go in one box and the headgear and accessories are further sorted in a "screws and bolts container". But yeah, minifigs are precious to me. Quote
simonwillems Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Nice topic! I quite like minifigs and own several of those tiny little fellows. According to Brickset I now have 1029 minifigs, but that is just the ones I obtained in sets. I bought many loose figs on bricklink and ebay and I got many in secondhand lots, so the estimated number approaches 1500 in total. One can never have to many minifigures, I once put all my townies together (which is the largest group within my population) and it resulted in this scene Quote
legotrainfan Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 (edited) According to brickset, I have 352 minfigs, but I've lost some of those. But once I also bought several castle minifigs. So I believe I should have ca. 370 minifigs. Edited April 19, 2009 by legotrainfan Quote
Shadows Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Sadly, so do I. You win, Shadows...Truce? Mwahahaha! Ok. You're probably right. Next time I'm about to effectively poke ImperialShadows' superior army with a stick, will someone please warn me? Next time, I'll send my Paradisa army. Quote
Peppermint_M Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 (edited) 264 according to brickset, but I know that I have obtained some of my brothers (Lets just say when the nicked my minifigs I got it back with compensation) bought at least 15 figures from ebay and bricklink, bought several legs and torsos on factory PAB and a few more minifigs at legoland, plus the impulse sets that I had as a child (apart from minifig and memories) and some figures that came in hand me down mixed boxes, and have no firm record as to which set they came from. I'd estimate that I have over 320 minifigs. My favourites and most recent are stored in a few small tubs or with the MOC they belong on and last week I sorted all my minifigs by head colour (flesh in one, yellow in the other and aliens in a third), torso theme (town/normal, unprinted,castle,SF,Steampunk/Adventurer and misc) and Legs (solid colour, different colour hips and printed) Plus all the headgear and stuff in different Ikea Glis compartments, I am going to get a few more for accessories by theme and for space when I take apart some of my new figures. I love minifigs and used to build stadia just to display them all and show of that I had two sets of five identical torsos (Five a side football matches were popular in my Lego town). I have a question though: Do you like Lego figures as they come, or do you prefer to create custom figures and give them a backstory and name? I love making custom figures and sometimes buy sets just for the figures (If they are cheap or reduced..). Edited April 19, 2009 by Peppermint_M Quote
green dewback Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Im not sure, never counted. Should be less than 150 total. Quote
gravysam Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 not sure but a lot because there all separated into seperate bins. Quote

It still means I have to spend a load of money, which brings us to the other popular General Discussion topic as of late... how much do you spend on LEGO per year? Wow! That's an amazing number for a someone who started less than a year ago, or at least it seems to me. Is that counting minifigs you still have from your childhood, or have you simply gotten that many figs? Interesting that you also know your AFOL anniversary date - is that the date you bought your first new LEGO set in years, the date you first pulled out your old bricks after years of storing them away, or what? ________________________ As for me, my Peeron set lis says I have 779 minifigs. I'm not sure how accurate that is; I think I may have one more copy apiece of certain sets than I've logged, and I also know I have a few figs from special items that aren't logged at all because Peeron doesn't have those items in its inventory (the Vintage Minifigure Collection Vol. 1, for example). I also have a partial skeleton on its way to me from LEGO Shop at Home's Pick-A-Brick, and when it arrives it'll be combined with other bits I have to make one more full skeleton. Finally, I also don't know how many of the things that might be counted as figures aren't listed as such in my Peeron list - the little robot with minifig legs in the Alpha Team Bomb Squad, for example - or whether I should count those myself. Eilif Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Here's my collection: and Each shelf can hold 112 minifigs, for a total of 896. If I added all the figs that are boxed up with my Brickington Island, the shelves would likely be over their limit. Add to that figs on MOCs, displayed sets and a few stored sets, and the figs I could build from my minifig parts bin, and I'm probably right about 1000. I'm actually curious to know the actual number now. I'll have to remember to count the figs next time I assemble Brickington Island. Quote
pesgores Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Around 200. Grew by 33% in this last month, from 150 to 200. Quote
Millacol88 Posted April 19, 2009 Author Posted April 19, 2009 Around 200. Grew by 33% in this last month, from 150 to 200. Thats a lot of minifigures to acquire in one month. Quote
Fluyt Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 I think I have about 250-350 minifigs, mostly pirates (well over a hundred). Quote
Legoman Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Brickset says somthing around 420... But i've got another 50-100 not on there. So i'd say around 500. It's a decent amount for me. So 500, of which around 450 are SW Quote
Etzel Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 142 complete minifigs Not very many but they're good ones And there are 3 on the way from BL too. I got about a dozen skeletons also but I don't count them as "real" minifigs. Quote

General Armendariz Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 I'd have to say over 650 since I bought a load of battle packs, impulses etc. Quote
Legoking Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 According to my brickset, I have 436 minifigs. But I have atleast over 150 more that are not part of sets. I also have 20 or more not complete minifigs as well. Quote
Hewman Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 Approximately 600. To others using brickset, at the moment I believe it underestimates your figs count a little, I have numerous sets that brickset says have fewer figs than they actually do, but it's a great feature for getting an approximation. Interesting that you also know your AFOL anniversary date - is that the date you bought your first new LEGO set in years, the date you first pulled out your old bricks after years of storing them away, or what? Everything in my collection now is new to me. I sold off all my childhood LEGO nearly 12 years ago. So it's all things I purchased or traded for in a years time. The date was when I went and bought my first set since selling off my LEGO and I figured this out by going back and checking my credit card for a Toys R Us purchase. Quote
chris_austin Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 Around 1700-1800 at the last count. I have been collecting LEGO for 20 years though so that would explain why I have that amount! I haven't got hold of many lately, they've been getting too popular and expensive in recent years. Quote
