Holodoc Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 According to Jan Beyer, there will soon be another (5th) Lego Store in Germany : It will be located in MyZeil, "Frankfurt’s premier shopping and leisure world" and will be opened in July. This will be the locations of all five Lego Stores in Germany in the future: ... there are still some spots to be filled... Quote
Erdbeereis Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 Excellent! I almost always fly to Frankfurt when I visit my relatives in Germany, and now I can even pick up some bricks along the way. This year I'll be able to go to 2 LEGO stores in Germany, first in May to the Munich one, and then in September to Frankfurt. Thanks for the news Doc. Quote
Peppermint_M Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 Aww, I want a Lego shop near me Lucky you. Quote
Skinny Boy Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 Congrats. The score is now Germany 5 : Ireland, Spain, Planet Zi, and lots of other countries 0 Quote
Holodoc Posted April 20, 2009 Author Posted April 20, 2009 Aww, I want a Lego shop near me Lucky you. 280 km from my home town... near is different. Congrats. The score is now Germany 5 : Ireland, Spain, Planet Zi, and lots of other countries 0 Hey, that´s a fair score taking into consideration "we (Germans)" buy a lot of Lego. Well, at least I do. Too much if you ask my wife. Quote
simonwillems Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 280 km from my home town... near is different. Hmm, so Sickbay is located 280 km from Frankfurt... Interesting. I was planning on going to Frankfurt this sommer anyway, so I'll pay the new store a visit! Quote

megasad Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 (edited) So is anyone else planning on going to the "grand opening" at the end of this month? http://stores.lego.com/en-us/Frankfurt/LandingPage.aspx ... And then I just re-read that page I bookmarked a few weeks ago and it says it opened today, 9th July?! I mean, I'll still go at the end of the month to get the exclusive model, already booked the day off work after all, but how is it an "opening" if the shop will have been operating for three weeks already? But so wheee, I go see it tomorrow after work. Edited July 10, 2009 by megasad Quote

Now I can visit it while travelling on my bicycle from Paris to Berlin next week! Quote

Does anyone have a feel for how busy these kinds of things are? Like, will I need to be queuing up the night before, camping out and the like? Or simply show up at 10:55am? Quote

Erdbeereis Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 Hmm.... Definitely doesn't look as good as Munich. I wonder what sort of pieces they have. I suppose it's probably still worth a trip, but I'll have to see. Thanks Doc! Quote

But I´m going to change that as we´re staying at Tegernsee on our vacation in two weeks. I had a look at the location where the Munich store is located. It´s quite far off the center of Munich. But if it´s better than the store in Frankfurt it´ll be better than Cologne and also Oberhausen - both look very similar to the new store. It will be worth it then. Chrome Storm Trooper - here I come! Quote

Chrome Storm Trooper - here I come! If you go, just take the subway/tram system. It's super super easy to get to the store, and anywhere in Munich. The trains are mostly brand new and clean, and it's a great way to get around. Munich is a lovely city, and if you want to see what the store looks like, and what Pick A brick things they had, take a look at my photo set on Flickr. Quote
Aliencat Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 I'm quite excited about a new store in Frankfurt am Main, I go there every now and then for work, and this gives me some place cool to go during waiting hours :) I will most definitely pay the store a visit in the near future! I never knew there is 2 of 'm next to our border.....i see trips coming! I drive down to those two stores quite often, when I go that way I'll give you a shout on msn, you can catch a ride with me. The one in Oberhausen is the closest for me, but the one in Köln is much bigger and has a much wider assortment in PaB and just looks nicer. Also the one in Oberhausen is in a boring modern shopping mall, the one in Köln is right in the middle of city center :) Quote
Holodoc Posted July 19, 2009 Author Posted July 19, 2009 I wonder what sort of pieces they have. Today I found this at 1000steine.de: The COMPLETE PaB-wall photographed box by box. Quote
