Posted April 20, 200915 yr I'm glad I can present you a finished MOC, well it's not exactly finished since there's missing some decent interior tho. The only interior I've added is the Wizard doing his thing. I've made this MOC as a concept to use for the treehouse I'm planning to add on my diorama thus the interior wasn't that important to me for now. Brickshelf Gallery I hope you'll like it, any input is appreciated! Greetings, Kevin. edit: link to BS gallery added.
April 20, 200915 yr I really like it, I think the tan works well with the brown and green to make it look natural and the variety within it (different windows) and slap together (small extra room on top etc) appearance gives it a certain charm. Well done!
April 20, 200915 yr I like it. I agree with the "slapped together" appearance. Like it was built with minimal concern for structure or like it had to follow the flow of the tree (which I assume was the idea). I think it really works. I like the ladder too. Is that a commonly used way of making them? It's simple to do but I am not sure I have ever seen one like that before. Then again I don't browse MOCs that often.
April 20, 200915 yr This a great treehouse MOC! Well done. The only thing I would suggest is to make it look more like a tree, as it looks like a dwelling built on a tree stump. Just some extra branches around the house etc will make it more a part of the tree. I like the use of Tan, the ladder is nice as well. I look forward to more creations Cheers ISC
April 22, 200915 yr Really nice MOC you worked out here. I agree with some suggestions to make it look more like a tree originated here. Maybe put some branches and leaves at the bottom of the first level / end of the stem. Like they come out from under the cabin. And the cabin is supported by four strong branches. And I would like to suggest to let some vines grow on the two brown planked sides, this will add to the idea it is build/ grown inside the tree. but still great job
April 22, 200915 yr I'm lovin' it! All McDonalds-endorsing aside, I for one really enjoyed looking at this MOC, and that ladder is just... wow! Great technique! Mind if I steal it??

It was deffinatly meant to flow as a tree hence the minimal concern for structure, the more chaos the better! Actually I wanted to create a timbered roof and all but got a bit lazy, that also could be a cause of its 'slapped together' appearance. The ladder is something that popped back in my mind, I remember using the technique as a kid as it is pretty simple, I've never seen it on another MOC myself but I'm pretty sure atleast 1 person has done it before, like that seems to be the case regurarly. The only thing I would suggest is to make it look more like a tree, as it looks like a dwelling built on a tree stump. That's deffinatly helpfull, I will keep these suggestions in mind when I build the final version on the diorama. 1 Question tho, what are 'vines'? My English vocabulary is limited :s the ladder is just... wow! Great technique! Mind if I steal it?? No I don't mind, it's not pattented :D Thanks for the great input so far guys, your reactions answer the questions I asked myself! Cheers, Kevin.

April 22, 200915 yr Nice work. The only thing I'd change is to make the roof slanted/sloped a bit. I don't know if the palm fronds and the parrot really fit into a medieval setting, but it doesn't bother me much at all. The ladder technique is nice. I was thinking about doing one that way myself. How sturdy is the trunk for support? It does look like it could hold up to a lot of play, modding, or transport... Steve
April 23, 200915 yr Author klimplanten Here are some vine pieces Oh thanks! That Bionicle piece looks very intresting. How sturdy is the trunk for support? It does look like it could hold up to a lot of play, modding, or transport... Well yes it is quite strong, deffinatly strong enough for a display. Transport is no problem, I can hold the MOC on 1 hand into the sky without it breaking into pieces. Here are some new pictures, I hope it shows a bit how it's built... Thanks again for the input! Kevin.
April 23, 200915 yr Oh man, I love love love stuff like this! Brilliant stuff Perterz you've just done some of my favourite colours (brown and tan) total justice. I love how it seems incorporated into how the tree grew rather than all even. As usual for me, the details really sell it, like the flames, birds, crystal ball, foliage and garden. Fantastic stuff! Batbrick Away!
April 24, 200915 yr that's a wonderful tree house^^ I love it! I love the "stairs", it looks very cool, great job!
April 24, 200915 yr "A+" is all I can muster at the moment. I rather like this Wizard treehouse thing. That ladder is clever though. Though shouldn't the interior not matter? it belongs to a wizard. Can't they make it bigger on the inside? The peasant/traveller minifig makes me want to make a reference to either Peasant's Quest or Monty Python and the Holy Grail... Is the wizard's name "Tim"? Why don't you buy him a Cold One?
April 24, 200915 yr Don't love it, sorry. What I like: Most of the wood work on the house is very cool and well done. I like the ladder a lot too, though it is a simple design, and other pieces of it work very well. The trunk of the tree is a tad skinny too, but it looks weel done! What needs work: The surronding area needs more cordination and the ground needs more lumps. Make it a little hilly, change up the texture and color at spots, but not randomly. Color code the flowers a bit more, and maybe stick in some kind of road near by. Over all it is a fairly nice MOC! Good work!
April 24, 200915 yr Wow! This creation has so much charm. Great job with the details and flow of the model. I'd live there!
April 24, 200915 yr Excellent work. It doesn't look much like a tree, as others have said, but it still looks amazing. This is actually the first MOC I've seen to use that ladder technique. Don't tiles work better for that though? Edit: I just tried and plates work much better.

Well I respect your opinion and I would like to thank you for giving decent guidelines! Toa of Whimsy: intresting/disturbing questions, thanks tho! gormadoc1: I got the cat from a lot I bought a month ago :) at first I wasn't to sure it was an official Lego piece but I do remember seeing it years ago in a city set. It has a 'Lego' brand inscription aswell so that convinced me. I'm really glad you like this MOC, I'll deffinatly start on an update or a new one. Thanks! edit: link to Brickshelf Gallery added in the first post. Edited May 3, 200915 yr by Perterz
