CW final preview, with Boba, Bossk, Sing, Mace, and Koon. Looks damn good.

Congrats on posting a low-quality version of the same video that was post only a couple of posts ago.

But yes, this preview looks good, maybe even better than the last season finale! It's just too bad that we know that none of the characters can die, so we know that it's just going to end in a draw. As it has been mentioned, the only one who could die is Ahsoka, but these episodes aren't about her, so I highly doubt she'll get killed. So yeah, that scene with Aurra Sing saying "do it" will be pretty pointless and might even make Boba look weak. :sceptic: Oh well, I'll try to stay optimistic about these episodes.

Those "Zillo" episodes sound like like a SW adaption of the Godzilla movie, hence the name "Zillo". :sceptic:

And as much as I like Artoo, an entire episode centered on him seems pretty lame. The mere fact that two powerful Jedi such as Ani and Mace have to rely on an astromech droid to help them out of a trap is completely stupid IMO. :sadnew:

Overall, all I can say is: "I have a bad feeling about this"... :look:

"You signed on to kill jedi-do it"

So that's what she says. I watched the preview several times and I couldn't figure out what she was saying.

That's my main concern- Boba looks very worried and cautious- he's even hiding his face in the preview when they're on the hologram. :sceptic: We know Aura Sing hates Jedi, so that's fine- but Boba just had his dad killed...you think he'd be more angry.

Dang it, I liked the Zillo idea until you meantioned Godzilla. Seeing as the second episode ends up with the Zillo beast somehow on Coruscant, this looks like some mix between Godzilla and King Kong. If the Zillo beast ends up climbing the Jedi Temple towers with Padme in its claws... :hmpf:

Another episode with Artoo?

"Friday, April 30: "R2 Come Home" -- When a band of bounty hunters leads Anakin and Mace into a deadly trap on Vanqor, it's up to R2-D2 to battle his way back to Coruscant and warn the Jedi. "

I'd prefer more "deadly trap on Vanqor" to "R2-D2's Amazing Journey." :sceptic:

Haha, true. And yes, that would be the last straw!

Yeah, I guess you could say "another" since we already had a two-part story about Artoo getting captured by Grievous, but at least those episodes were more about the people trying to find him (and, on the side, destroy an enemy station as a bonus) rather than R2 himself. This episode on the other hand really does sound like a "R2's Big Adventure" type of thing.

I'd prefer more "deadly trap on Vanqor" to "R2-D2's Amazing Journey." :sceptic:

You mean have the episode be more about Mace & Ani fighting their way out of a trap rather than Artoo going for help Lessie-style while the two Jedi sit around twisting thumbs? Yes, that would be much more what I would have in mind as well, but then again, this is not the first time I have disagreed with Filoni's approach to this show. (CoughGrievousCough) :hmpf:

I'd rather have the April fools episodes about Rex and Cody's Day off or whatever that was about  I like the episodes about the Clone Troopers, but Artoo isnt really devoted episodes worthy.

I agree with all of you. Seeing R2 has been in every movie and mini-series, Filoni should direct episodes onto less well known characters. Grievous is a must for me, as I would love to see more of him before he became a cyborg and more stories on how Dooku found him and transformed him into a Jedi killing machine. On that subject, I count only one Jedi he has killed in the series, that being Vebb who quite frankly put up a lame fight and was no where near skilled enough to be a Jedi Knight. :sceptic:

We really need new Jedi to be introduced and destroyed by him IMO.

I believed that after they revived Eeth Koth, and planned on killing him in the same episode. They had decided againsit it hafl way through, and thought they could bring him back. Maybe in the future, Grievous (or Boba/Cad Bane) could kill him.

Speaking of Eeth Koth, why revive him, instead of using Agen Kolar? Strange.

Who knows what goews on inside Filoni's head... I mean what kind of idea was Asohka?

I finally realized what was wrong with the zillo beast preview, Lucas and Filoni are all out of ideas, there even reusing dialogue!!!!!

Cat and mouse- Bail Organa states to Obi-wan that he is "his only hope", same thing leia does in episode IV

The Zillo Beast- Mace wind says "I have a bad feeling about this" as he is walking on an enormous worm-like creature, same thing han solo does when he is walking inside the space worm

I hate how there not being original anymore, it was nice maybe once as a little "oh look what they did here, thats clever" but this is ridiculous, and I mean, there just copying ideas off other things, like Brain Invaders was like a zombie movie Zillo Beast is godzilla and Holocron Heist just reminded me of the bank job, even Cat and Mouse was way to similar to U571.

I disagree... I see those quotes as some kind of movies trivia/private jokes... Honestly, the quote from Bail made me smile... I really don't mind if they, from times to times, use a well-known film as a scenario basis, as long as it is well done... Just look at those few moments we had in season two, when Anakin is getting closer to the dark side and we hear a small sample of the Imperial March... Honestly, those moments are really good !

The "tribute episode" I liked the most was "Bounty Hunters". I'm a deep fan of Akira Kurosawa, and when I saw that this episode was a tribute to him, I must confess that I would have stopped definitely watching Clone Wars if it have not been done well...

I really enjoyed Cat and Mouse, I only regret that they killed Trench so fast... The same for Holocron Heist... I'm more restrain about "Brain Invaders", but for a different reason : while for me the duo Ahsoka/Barriss worked well in the factory episode, here it does not work the same... that's my feeling...

About the Zillo Beast... Well, the reference to Godzilla is obvious... I didn't liked a lot the episode, but I don't like and found the concept of the Dugs themselves pretty stupid from the start... I'm waiting the second episode... Even if I can smell, from ten thousand kilometers the King Kong reference coming... Well, as long as we don't end up with Ahsoka screaming while being tied to a pillar...

I think you answered your own question: Because they were planning to kill him off (but decided against it for some stupid reason) and Kolar still needs to appear in ROTS.

Uhm, yeah, I'm pretty sure that just because they are making references to the movies and styling some episodes in a particular movie genre doesn't mean they're running out of ideas. That's just their way of making this show (as lame as it may be).

Oh, and I definitely agree with you on Grievous, Jammiedodger!

Yes, they want to make it more enjoyable for us hardcore fans. I noticed all the quotes and they made the episodes even more enjoyable for me. Go look in the Episode summaries on SW.com and they have even wrote all the re-used quotes for us to look at, and understand their origins.

I know this is off topic, but whenever I type in starwars.com in my browser, it keeps taking me to the starwars shop instead. This started after I clicked the link in sok117's post (not blaming him!).

I'm glad. The statues of him in the episode Grievous' Lair made me really excited. :sweet:

Weired, I'll be honest I'm not very good with computers, can you still get to starwars.com?

Now I can thanks. Strange how it kept on redirecting me, though. :look:

I just watched the Zillo Beast episode. I thought it was quite good, except for the few plot holes like leaving the rescue team with the monster and then pouring the fuel over them. But, I ignored it.

Personally, I think the episode would've been better as a two-parter; the idea was good, but far to short.

Agreed, they could have done a far better job elaborating that and just kicked out one of the pointless episodes like bombad jedi.

I actually quite liked Bombad Jedi- but I think Ambush or Tresspass could've been scraped.

That's funny- Trespass is one of my favorite episodes, while Bombad Jedi was one of my least.

Just saw "The Zillo Beast." The Dugs struck me as rather rediculous. Malastare didn't seem to have very high gravity, which is a shame since this is something I'd really like to see in SW. Not all planets have a gravital acceleration of 9.8 m/s squared... It seems to me that a Dug would have been perfectly adapted for living in treetops. Stong arms and light, weak legs seem ideal for swinging through trees.

Their weapons also seemed useless. Charging into battle with electric prods? Really?

Mace's quarrel with the Dug leader over the Zillo beast seemed rediculous. While I agree that the Zillo beast is neat and all, and that it should be preserved, it did not seem like the time or place to make the argument, what with the creature being legendary for destroying civilizations. Mace didn't seem like the right person to do it, either... Mace is a good person, yes, but his main concern is saving people, so this little light-heared save-the-monster take on him didn't suit him at all. I think Ahsoka would have been the better choice. Wasn't she supposed to be there with Anakin, anyway?

On the other hand, the visuals in this episode were stunning. We finally got to see a large-scale battle, not the usual small groups running into each other every once and a while. This definately has "Landing at Point Rain" surpassed in numbers.

We get to see ARC-170s, now, too. I didn't see any clones with the open helmets, though.

I personally liked the episode. I agree that maybe they didn't choose the right characters, or emphasize the "special properties" of the beast, but I liked the concept of awakening a legendary beast. I really enjoyed the creature's design- the odd, birdlike feet were cool and the third arm on the back was a nice surprise. But the Dugs did seem a little ridiculous. :sceptic:

This episode actually really suprised me! I thought the Zillo beast was going to be this lame dragon monster but it turned out to be this retro japanesque monster. I also loved the whole feel of the episode from the big battle at the begining to thewhole story of the zillo monster itself. I thought the Dugs were great and I like how Anakain is al ready to kill the "monster". My only complaint would be that they should have shown more of the begining battle.

Next week's episode looks like it's going to be very entertaining. I just hope a clone says something like "Oh no! It's taking out the Japanese alien red light district, that monster!"

I just thought of something that they should do. Since this series is about the Clone Wars, why not do a couple episodes from the Sepreatist side. Like Grievous or some new characters. One thing I just wish they would do is maybe humanize the Seps more, instead of just having them as two dimensional bad guys. I want more reasons that planets would go under the banner of the CIS because I don't think just currupt senators and evil sith is what makes up the CIS.

Trespass is one of my favorite episodes.

Trespass is my favorite episode, I love everything about it, especially the music, on the surround sound, its just godly. How have you guys all seen Zillo Beast? I thought the episodes aired one week earlier in Canada, and there was no new episode tonight?!? :cry_sad:

I must say, I actually quite liked this episode. It had a good atmosphere and some nice things going on in it.

Oh, and I totally called the connection of this episode with Godzilla!

Personally, I think the episode would've been better as a two-parter; the idea was good, but far to short.

Agreed.

I actually quite liked Bombad Jedi- but I think Ambush or Trespass could've been scraped.

However, like others, I do not agree with that at all. Bombad was lame while Ambush and Trespass are some of this show's better episodes in my opinion. Would you really prefer Senate Spy or Senate Murder over Ambush and Trespass?!

Sorry to hear you didn't like it.

Interesting theory, but have you considered the possibility that all the fuel mining has destroyed all the trees that made the dugs what they are today?

And yes, those prods were kinda useless, but I think those Frisbee Launchers of Doom were pretty cool.

Well, it may seem "rediculous" now that Mace would want to save a giant, impenetrable, civilization destroying monster when he didn't even want to let a wrinkly old man who is begging for his life live in Episode III, but I'm sure that the events of the next episode will make him regret his decision and lead to him rather wanting to kill Palpatine than let him live like Zillo. Makes perfect sense to me, and I really liked how Mace stayed with what he believed in, no matter what everyone else said.

Yes, that was great! My theory is that they are slowly preparing for the switch to Phase 2, creating one model at a time. I bet they will make the switch by next season.

Yeah, I agree with all of that. But I don't think the battle in the beginning should have been longer since the whole point of it was it to be ended quickly by the bomb. Speaking of the bomb, I think it was a pretty good idea, sort of like the Republic's response to Lok Durd's Defoliator. The fact that it effected Anakin's artificial hand as well was a neat detail.

Actually, I remember reading an article where Dave Filoni said that they are working on episodes like that. They even said there was going to be a "Day in the life of a Battle Droid" episode (which sounds stupid actually IMO). Hopefully we'll see some good Sep episodes in the next season.

Hey, I didn't say I didn't like it. I thought it was a decent episode. Although I would have preferred Ahsoka to be the beast's protector, I still liked it- the CGI in this episode is the best we've seen so far.

Plus, they added a lot of little details. I liked the landing lights for the gunships, and the spotlights for the LAAT/c ships. The new tanks were pretty neat, too. I wonder if we'll be able to see the larger varient we saw in Ep. II again...

All the quiet Godzilla references were pretty neat, too. The two clone pilots both had Godzila-themed helmets, as well as the tactical droid.

Really? That'll be neat, if it's done well. There's the possibility of seeing Grievous actually being cool, or there's the possibility of more battle droid slapstick humor... (Which can be done well, but mostly I don't care for it- it gives the droids too much character.)

Trespass is my favorite episode, I love everything about it, especially the music, on the surround sound, its just godly.

Yes, I'll agree- the music was splendid in Tresspass, I just thought it left a few sceanes to be desired.

Hmm... Although I'll agree, Senate Spy was horrid, I still haven't seen Murder yet. I'll admit, I'm in the pro-Jar Jar minority.

The Zillo Beast episode was quite interesting. The beast itself looks very cool, and the electro-proton bomb was awesome. It took out thousands of droids in less than a minute! :oh:

The episode commentary for this episode was interesting to watch. The red Y-wing carrying the bomb looked great, and I liked all the subtle references to Godzilla!

Has anyone seen the CW Comic book series from a while back? In one of them it featured a Battle Droid fed up of going to battle, getting shot, and then remade all over again. So he decides to run away and does lots of... 'happy' things before his battery runs out. Pretty good story, so hopefully it will be a bit like that.
