Fumoffu Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 I don't think 100% of the population of Mandalore is a Mandalorian warrior. And me thinks it's not a good idea to still be fighting the Galactic version of the U.N with only 5 guys backing you up. I think Mandalorians are not made up of just one species. I believe Mandalorian is more a way of life/culture so that if you're a believer of that way of life then you can be Mandalorian. At least that is the impression I got from the latest Star Wars novel that I'm reading ("Sacrifice"). Quote
Mraz Skintas Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 The Mandalorians (called Mando'ade in Mando'a, meaning "children of Mandalore") were a warlike, nomadic group of clan-based people consisting of members from multiple species. Often, they served as mercenaries and bounty hunters.Their culture revolved around that of battle and war being a source of honor and pride in their community. The leader of the Mandalorians typically took on the title of "Mandalore." Mandalorians were frequently allied with the Sith, most notably Exar Kun and much later as a prototype for the Clone trooper under the power of Darth Sidious and the Galactic Republic, though they would not hesitate to cooperate with the Jedi if it suited them. Originally, the Mandalorian clans were Taung from Coruscant, led by the warlord "Mandalore the First". Around 24,000 BBY they conquered a planet in the Outer Rim, which they named Mandalore after their leader. The Taung then took the name Mandalorians and were seen by many as the most skilled fighters in the galaxy, thriving in battle. They were known for their use of cutting-edge weaponry and held to a strict code of honor. These Mandalorians wore crusader armor that differed from one soldier to the next. So yes, basically the Mandolorian Tradition was a way of life, adopted by many species. Quote
Emperor Claudius Rome Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 Yes but I'm talking about the average people of Mandalore! I think they want to join the Republic! Quote

I think they want to join the Republic! Why would they? On Mandalore, Everyone knows how to fight. I'd say they have more of a frontier type personality- too tough or proud to want to join the Republic. Quote
Emperor Claudius Rome Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 My theory is that Mandalore is in depression! And thats why Quote
Stealth Hunter Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 These clone are weird. They certainly are but I think they are also somewhat interessting. We don't know their purpose jet but the wider helmets probably have a better protection against sonic weapons. That or a dead-awesome helmet integrated stereo system. Quote
Dutch Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 Your right they would have a better protection against sonic weapons. I do like that idea of a kick !$^ stereo system better. Quote
The Nightwing Reborn Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 I would have to agree with clone killer and stealth hunter about the clone helmets. I would say they are for confronting geonosians, since they are one the only sonic weapon wielders I know in SW continuity. Oh and that Rodian mandalorian is completely win. Quote
Mraz Skintas Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Those are some funny looking Clones we have there. Special supersonic helmets would indeed come in hand against Geos, as well as the Imp. Officers from BFII. I wonder who commands them, and if they will have a stereo special helmet. Quote
Emperor Claudius Rome Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Or maybe there was defect on him when he was being cloned, and he now has big ears Quote

I know I've seen a picture of one, but did you see one in the season 2 ad? If so, that would be amazing. Quote
Mraz Skintas Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 No, sadly there were no Rodian Mandos in the add, but here's hopin that they'll be in the next season somewhere. @Emperor Claudius Rome: If the Clones did have any sort of defect, the Kaminoans would have slotted them. That's why Skirata became 'father' of the Nulls. He couldn't stand to see 6 innocent boys be killed because of the simple defect of lack of obedience. Quote
DarthSion Posted August 11, 2009 Author Posted August 11, 2009 With these leaked sets coming, i wonder if season 2 will bring more of the freeco speeders. Quote

And it was a Joke Quote
Mraz Skintas Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 The Nulls had pure free will, so they wouldn't just take every order from a Jedi, like the other Clones do. I know, I was just sayin. Quote
Emperor Claudius Rome Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 The Nulls had pure free will, so they wouldn't just take every order from a Jedi, like the other Clones do. That's really not much of a defect Quote
Fumoffu Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 That's really not much of a defect Its not a defect from a good guy perspective but from Darth Sidious' and his master plan's perspective it is a fundamental defect since null clones may not exectuve Order 66 the way Cody did. Quote
DarthSion Posted August 14, 2009 Author Posted August 14, 2009 Some info on the season 1, including Blu-ray cover art, no word on when the rest of us will get it, but hopefully LA isnt being a tard and the blu-ray wont be region locked. http://au.bluray.ign.com/articles/101/1013160p1.html Quote
simonjedi Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 I like the cover, it looks very cool. Will probably a day one purchase for me. Quote
DarthSion Posted August 14, 2009 Author Posted August 14, 2009 Depending on how long it takes to get out here it will be for me too, i'm surprised they went with Cody, he was a small character in the series. Quote
simonjedi Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 He was in quite a few episodes though, so it makes sense. The clone wars film had commander fox on one of the covers, and as far as i remember he never actually appeared in the film. Quote
Mraz Skintas Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Because, Cody's awesome. Anyway, that looks like it will be a day one purchase for me as well. I still think we need at least a sub forum, so we can discuss all things Star Wars, so we don't have to add in stuff that doesn't 100% fit in some topics. Seeing as this is a Season 2 Topic, that's season one..... Well that's just my opinion and rant. (But seriously, Star Wars Subforum anybody?) Quote
DarthSion Posted August 14, 2009 Author Posted August 14, 2009 Actually if you look at this detailed list on IMDB for Dee Bradley Baker, he is only listed 3 times as Cody, Wat Tambor was in it as much as he was. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0048389/filmoseries#tt0458290 And no, Rex is better. Yes well ask the staff for a sub section, but dont hold your breath. Quote
Oky Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 (edited) The clone wars film had commander fox on one of the covers, and as far as i remember he never actually appeared in the film. What? Of course he did! Who do you think arrested Ziro? The info about the Season 1 boxset isn't anything new btw, not to me at least. It was posted on the official SW website shortly after SDCC. Seeing as this is a Season 2 Topic, that's season one..... Well that's just my opinion and rant. Well, I started a general SW discussion topic a while ago, but nobody ever cared to post in it. A subforum would be nice though. I'm still not sure if I should get the blu ray or DVD boxset. blu ray doesn't look like a format that will last long. Also, I don't have a blu ray player in my room, only in the living room downstairs. Edited August 14, 2009 by Oky Wan Kenobi Quote
simonjedi Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 What? Of course he did! Who do you think arrested Ziro? It's been a while since i've watched it hence the 'as far as i remember' bit. Quote
