Governor Broadside Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 Why do you never buy via eBay? Why would you deprive yourself of Pirate LEGO 1/5th the price of BrickLink? I wouldn't say that it's as good as 1/5th the price of BL, but it is better. Lately I've been active on eBay again and have got some pirate sets for a cheap price. *pirate* Quote
Norrington Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 Let me try to help.November sales on BL: 6245 harbor sentry for $10.00 6247 bounty boat for $8.50 6266 cannon cove for $27.00 (used copy) or $42.00 (new copy), my guess is the first one 6276 eldorado fortress for $137.00 8- Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted November 12, 2006 Governor Posted November 12, 2006 I wouldn't say that it's as good as 1/5th the price of BL, but it is better. Lately I've been active on eBay again and have got some pirate sets for a cheap price. *pirate* I'm not so sure about that. A couple of months back I saw a French auction for 6 Imperial Guards that sold for about 3.5 Euros. So including postage that would be about 1/5 the price. yes it was hte first one, and the fortress was still in the box with instructions. So Norrington can you give us confirmation on the prices you paid for these sets? Quote
Norrington Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 $27 for cannon cove, $130-somthing for eldorado fotress, $9.99 for the hoarbour senrty, 6.99 for the bounty boat from one store. And $80 for assorted minifigs and parts in another. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted November 12, 2006 Governor Posted November 12, 2006 That's quite a bit! How can you afford such a big lot? Does the Crown pay you well to rid the seas from Pirates :-D? Quote
Governor Broadside Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 I've never seen Imperial Guards go for so cheap! *wacko* I guess I need to watch more closely since I haven't seen anything else go for 1/5th the price of BL. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted November 13, 2006 Governor Posted November 13, 2006 The person was in ontraio, canada and me in the northeast USA. That's still on the same continent so its not that far. Not like sending something from the US to Europe, or further... Antarctica! Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted November 13, 2006 Eurobricks Emperor Posted November 13, 2006 I'm not so sure about that. A couple of months back I saw a French auction for 6 Imperial Guards that sold for about 3.5 Euros. So including postage that would be about 1/5 the price. It's not really my experience that Imperial soldiers and guards are much cheaper in Belgium, France and Germany. Sometimes you can do a rather good deal, but you have to be constantly monitoring. I must say that I only try to buy them with at least the shako and epauletes included on ebay. The missing parts I buy from time to time on BL in great amounts (e.g. backpacks for soldiers). Shipping cost from France are crazy most of the time and the German shipping prices are also going up lattely 8-| I'm equaly buying on ebay (43 purchases) and bricklink (48 purchases). Complete sets I never buy on bricklink, only ebay. I'm a rather big spender on Lego. My average/month is about 150 euro (193USD). Quote
snefroe Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 It's not really my experience that Imperial soldiers and guards are much cheaper in Belgium, France and Germany. there was a time when lego pirates (minifigs i mean) in belgium were quite cheap, however, it seems to me that that is no longer the case. i'd say it's become rather expensive in the last couple of months... Norrington Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 yes, phes, i am payed well, except for i'm payed by the american president, and i actully rid the oceans of columbian drug smugglers..... Scouty Posted November 23, 2006 Posted November 23, 2006 Besides Mr.Norringtons major bumpage and a couple grammar mistakes, I am taking considering into ordering something from your store Ed. (Please tell me how much discount is! Quote
Norrington Posted November 23, 2006 Posted November 23, 2006 mr. scouts, are you trying to say something about my grammar? Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted November 23, 2006 Governor Posted November 23, 2006 I believe he is Mr Norrington, for example "what section atre the current;ly in mr. ed" But why have you felt the need to bump this thread Mr Norrington? Ed Dotcom hasn't posted here since the 14th of November last year so therefore he's not likely to see your response. I recommend that you Email him if you're genuinely searching for an answer. Quote
Scouty Posted November 23, 2006 Posted November 23, 2006 May we have an update on your order? Or is it just paid and shipped? Quote
Norrington Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 i have only got the elddorado fortress in the mail, unfortunatly, because the order cost us alll that money, my girlfriend took it and hid it so i cant have it untill christmas.... Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted December 1, 2006 Eurobricks Emperor Posted December 1, 2006 Today I received my biggest bricklink order ever ... Here's a picture of the package: And what's inside: - 102 Imperial Guards - 1 Imperial Guard Admiral - 3 Imperial soldiers - Swords, some muskets, some epauletes, ... I will use these as a basis for my English army. This brings my total English army strength to 135 Imperial Guards, 4 Imperial Guard Admirals, 10 riflemen. Once the army is operational, I will post pictures in the MOC forum. Afterwards I plan some battle scenes with my French army. Quote
Khorne Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 Where did you buy these? Must have all those minifigs X-O . Did you pay a lot or is that classified? Quote
Scouty Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 X-O I am so jealous of you now, but also notice yous spent $500 on these, so, it's fair *wink*. Good buy. I shall await your encridebly large army displayed soon!! Quote
oo7 Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 Where's the drooling smilie!!! Wow, $500 dollars, wish I had that much to spend on lego not to mention just minifigs... What a pointless thread this is, oh well... Quote

Wow, $500 dollars, wish I had that much to spend on lego not to mention just minifigs... What a pointless thread this is, oh well... Why should there be a drooling smilie? And why is this such a pointless thread oo7? I can tell you that it took me a lot of time to decide to buy these figs. I won't buy any Lego soon because I used my entire Lego budget for the coming months! Quote
oo7 Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 Why should there be a drooling smilie? I was making a fecicous joke out of my serious thought. I thought it was kind of obvious. 8-| And why is this such a pointless thread oo7? Well, you could have just posted this in your Napoleonic army thread. I can tell you that it took me a lot of time to decide to buy these figs.I won't buy any Lego soon because I used my entire Lego budget for the coming months! Indeed. It must mean alot to you and I admire your perseverance. :'-) Quote
