Specever Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 (edited) Hallo, wie geht es ihnen? Ah, ja. Sorry, no speak Duestch? Thats Ok. I just ordered from the best BrickLink store. (See uploaded file) Thoughts on what I ordered? Oh, yes, the pirates, those are wearing my new fleet uniform. German. Awesome. Yes, I am making a small merchant ship with no center-hulls, and a large brig with two center hulls. Bigger. Containers are for the good on the merchant ship. Saved a lot on those axes. Perfect for Evil Stevies. What do you think? Am I missing something? Well, if I am missing something I probably already have it. But the colour scheme will be ruined. :pir-angry: Either way... What do you think? Edited January 20, 2009 by Specever Quote
Paul cantu Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Looks good to me. The only thing I would have done differently is I would have bought 10 soldiers arsenals and it would equal what you spent for the old soldiers and weapons plus you would have some extras. Also you might want to consider building your own hull midsections that saves a good amount of money. Here is a link that shows my technique for making my own mid sections: http://mocpages.com/moc.php/89996 Quote

Captain Green Hair Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Looks like a good start, but you might consider getting some masts. Only thing i don't like are brown log bricks on ships, they look weird on them IMO. Quote
Captain Blackmoor Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Now I know why the brown hulls were gone suddenly. Looks like a great order to me, but just like Captain Green Hair said: you need some masts on a ship as well. Quote

Fluyt Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 (edited) Already got some. What parts exactly do I need to make a mast? this or this for a mast base and this, this or this for the middle and top sections. this and this for attaching sails to the mast and this as a crows nest+ you need some rigging ladders. You might also want some lattice windows and sails (but the sails you could make out of paper/cloth yourself). Edited January 20, 2009 by Fluyt Quote
Capn Frank Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 Hey Specever, Can anybody post their B-L orders here? Hallo, wie geht es ihnen? Ah, ja. Sorry, no speak Duestch? Thats Ok. I just ordered from the best BrickLink store. Nein, ich spreche Duestch nicht. Already got some. What parts exactly do I need to make a mast? Well it depends on what type of mast you're looking for. The old version of masts (my favorite) you'll need: For the Standard BSB or SES Mast from bottom to top use: There are multiple variations for most of these mast sections. If one type is too expensive, I'd look at a different variation. They all seem to work the same. + + + For a little bit shorter of a mast you can use the shorter base: There is also this top mast piece: It can be used instead of the top mast piece shown for the "standard mast" for a shorter mast, or can be used with the standard top mast piece to make the standard mast even taller. Or you could go with the new mast which only have the following from bottom to top: I've only used the top portion of this mast for small vessels. This type of mast seems less stable than older version of mast pieces. + Hope this helps. Edit by Phred: Just realized Fluyt posted most of the same info. Should be able to understand mast assemblies from both posts. Quote
Capt. Kirk Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 You can't say that you don't get a helping hand on Classic-Pirates... Quote

But your post has pictures, and pictures > no pictures . At least Specever got enough info I hope, I'm looking forward to the result (only I prefer normal brown bricks to log-bricks in a ship-moc). Captain Blackmoor Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 I do not have a lot of brown bricks, I make my ships in black and yellow. But I've seen a ship I want to make so badly, and I need lots of brown for it. Soon or late I have order brown bricks too. Quote
Ratshot Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 Your really starting out on the right foot for ship building Quote
Specever Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 Your really starting out on the right foot for ship building Yes, then I realize my shoe is untied, so I trip and fall and scramble back to bricklink But that won't happen Quote
