David85 Posted August 15, 2004 Posted August 15, 2004 I'll just right to the point... http://www.iltco.org/gallery/view_album.ph...=album15&page=1 I just hope it only cost $30 and not $40 like the last one. Quote
sam89 Posted August 15, 2004 Posted August 15, 2004 Well this picture shows that it costs $40. But I agree, it's a very cool set. Quote
Jipay Posted August 15, 2004 Posted August 15, 2004 It will depend of those special colored bricks. Anyway, 40$ for a loco without a motor is a little bit expensive? I'm also deceived by the fact that this loco is an american one. After the santa fe super chief, another one. Are the USA the only country with nice trains ? The ICE german train for instance is such a beauty ! Anyway, I don't know if I'll be able to resist to this train anyway (it will depend of the star wars set) Quote
jonfett Posted August 15, 2004 Posted August 15, 2004 Well, I don't collect trains so I don't care about the price but this looks like a nice set to me. I like the little guards over the wheels, don't know why.. the just appeal to me! The front of the engine is good too. Maybe for you guys who like it, you will find out more about it soon. Jon. Quote

The price is a lot, but think about it, the Santa Fa has more than 400 piece for $40, and the new train has 333 pieces and cost $90. I hope thins time I will have money for the add on cars (you know it will happen) because I didn't have the money for the Santa Fa add ons and now I'm not going to buy them if I don't know if they will match or not. Jipay Posted August 16, 2004 Posted August 16, 2004 Oh, I see, you're speaking about the color change... Yes I agree. I also need add on cars, those are so important for train sets. I hope they will release some good stuff like containers and so on. Quote
6studs Posted August 16, 2004 Posted August 16, 2004 Hi guys ! Have you noticed that this new loco looks like the loco in the Jake's "LEGO train" book. (not the colors but the shape). You can see a pic here : http://www.digitalbricks.nl/MOC/JakeMcKee/...ok/JMK_UPDL.jpg (big size image, comes from the "moc poster" section of jeroen very good website : www.digitalbricks.nl) Another point not so much chatted about is the "return" of the dark green. IMHO this color is going to be used not only in the BNSF set but in many others official models.....maybe an opportunity for military stuffs MOC designers ! Bye 6Studs Quote
Jipay Posted August 16, 2004 Posted August 16, 2004 he he I made the same statment that you did by browsing the links of your website... You talked about 2 studs loco, I browsed the link and the guy said he was inspirred by jake loco : The similarity bewteen the two things is odd :) Considering the military stuff, I think this will never happen, but you never know... 6studs Posted August 16, 2004 Posted August 16, 2004 Just compare : http://www.6studs.com/JakesLoco/compare.jpg 6studs Quote
6studs Posted August 17, 2004 Posted August 17, 2004 Hi everybody Jake announce that he made mistake on his keynote at BF 2004. The price of the BNSF loco will be 39.99 euros and NOT 29.99 euros as previously announced. (I won't believe anything before the release in late october) A big mistake...at least it shows TLG won't change his price policy for europe this year : North American market stay the major target. Quote
David85 Posted August 18, 2004 Author Posted August 18, 2004 That Makes since because the Euro and the Dollar (US) and about the same, so you can't gte it for that much cheaper. :P Quote

DoubleT Posted August 24, 2004 Posted August 24, 2004 Hmm at first Lego also posted an false price on the 10131 set at ShopAtHome.... Quote
David85 Posted August 24, 2004 Author Posted August 24, 2004 Is there even a motor in that thing? No it's like the Santa Fa one, hell so far it even has the same people. Quote
dyip_90 Posted August 24, 2004 Posted August 24, 2004 cheap guys, lego, they need to do a better job at preparing and creating these sets, they just want us to buy the train then pay lots more for some tracks, train cars, motors, etc. Quote

Why do you think most Train sets are only from Lego Store? It's so they can get the most money. Trains are expensive, but if you don't like it then don't buy it, or wait for the big sets to go online at WalMart and Toy's R Us, that's what I did. 400 pieces for $40 is the normal price for Legos, if not a good price for that ammount of pices. Quote
Jipay Posted August 25, 2004 Posted August 25, 2004 I agree with dyip actually. This set is expensive, and the exchange rate won't help. After saying it was 29 Quote
ApophisV Posted August 25, 2004 Posted August 25, 2004 oh yes and there are new 1x1 slopes included!!!! :D Quote
Jipay Posted August 25, 2004 Posted August 25, 2004 I can't wait to build a warhammer 40k darkangels dreadnought with those nice bricks *slurrrppp* Quote
LegoVervoerBouwer Posted January 10, 2005 Posted January 10, 2005 I see not a train. I see only 5 picture's of the lowlug logo. Quote
ApophisV Posted January 10, 2005 Posted January 10, 2005 It was a half year ago when we saw this gallery.... So maybe it disappered in the meantime... Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 :oo I was driving through Arizona today and actually had to stop for a long freight train led by two BNSF engines. This is the first time I've seen one (or two) in person. It was so ironic having just posted a message about the train yesterday. I wan't even sure if this color scheme really existed (or at least isn't just a historic engine). In addition, numerous double-stacked container cars were Maersk Sealand. Gives me some ideas. Unfortunately, I didn't get a picture, but it was really neat to see the real thing. Quote
