Anyone have any good buys lately?

One of my best buys was off of our very own Ebay list (Zorro better give me creds for advertisement)! I got a Black Seas Barracuda with box, instructions and shipping for $116!

I also made a private purchase recently for a Caribbean Clipper, Eldorado Fortress, and Sabre Island, all with boxes and instructions for $144.

How has everyone else been doing? I am a one-man economy stimulater! But when my fiance finds out, I will probably be a single man again...

I called my best friend last night and told him about my buys. When we were kids his parents bought him whatever sets were available. He GOT ALL OF THEM. I remember being so jealous! However, he never got Eldorado or BSB! Now he is the jealous one!!!

MUHAHAHAHAHA! *enjoys final childhood victory at 27 years of age*

A free Recoat from a friend :pir-sweet:

Now I have 2 Bluecoats and 1 Redcoat! :pir-laugh:

Hmm, not lately but I do remember buying a bag filled with say 7 bluecoats including a governor for 5 euro.

No shakos, but still a nice deal I think.

Thats a really good deal, nice find!

Most recently I picked up 35 Governor torsos, 35 red epaulettes, and 70 of the new shakos for about $70 (I tried that frowned apon way we don't discuss here) and it works fine. I also bought 5 more medieval Market village sets at the normal cost. I have all 12 that I need now. I also got 25 islanders off EBay for $50.

Nice steals!!!

I've gotten a good selection of soldiers (mixed lots of blue and red, with shakos and without) for an average price of $2.50 each on a few recent eBay lots. I was lucky in a few auctions where there were few, if any, bids. It's a real crap shoot to see which auctions shoot up at the last minute and which go for bargain prices.

I now have more shakos than troops to put them on.

Perhaps I'll use the new decorated Shakos for the elite troops and standard shakos for the line troops.

I bid what Im willing to pay and if I win, I win, if I don't I dont.

But I have been trying to mix in the new troops and accesories with the old ones as well.

So far, I think Im going to use the new red coats for officers, and the old one for line soldiers.

I got a mostly complete 6277 Imperial Trading post and a some-what complete 6270 Forbidden Island for $5 of ebay a couple of months ago :pir-classic:

YOU GANGSTER! :jollyroger: :pir-skull: Nice move!

Sometimes the "incomplete" sets dont get any attention and they may be only missing a few easy to find parts!

Very very very nice guy! You make my buy look "no so cool" anymore!

LOL!

-Super

You know that throws me off? The "non-deals". Where did anyone figure the price for an individual tri-corn hatted, red coat soldier with a gun is $10 to $14? And lots of soldiers (in batches of 4 to 8) selling for what amounts to over $10 a figure. There was a lot recently of 6 figures with an $80+ Buy It Now price. PLUS shipping!

I don't think I've paid over $3 for a figure, ever. But then again I tend to be patient and choose my targets carefully.

Real piratey like.

I got my BSB in the mail today.

The box is MINT! So I am very happy with it! I'm waiting for El Delrado, Craibbean Clipper, and Sabre Island all with boxes and instructions yet to come!

Lucky Black Sheep! :pir_laugh2:

I rarely spend money on real TLC pirate sets, I'd rather go to BrickLink and order exactly what I need to build whatever I want. Only for armybuilding I visit Ebay often, an army is never big enough and BrickLink prices are extemely high for Bluecoats. :pir-sceptic:

On Ebay you might find a nice bargain sometimes, especially France and Germany may have some.

Well I was looking at Zorro's ebay list, and there was this real nice BSB, with box and instructions, but the lady had it listed all wrong. So I got it for a little over 100!

I actually wanted and needed the ship for my big MOC, so all's well that ends well.

I purchased a brand spankin' new 6243 Brickbeard's Bounty off of Craigslist for $50 today. Not a "classic" set yet, but still a fine ship! :pir-classic:
