The Green Brick Giant Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 I've missed that lawsuit too. However the impulse sets are pretty much just a fig and some utensils. So it can be argued that a Star Wars impulse is a "action figure" rather than an "constructable toy". Even though the fig's gear are made from a number of LEGO bricks. So I'm assuming that this was what that lawsuit was all about. So, to make sure it is considered a constructable toy LEGO adds a small vechile of about 60 - 90 pieces to the battlepacks. That's exactly what it was. It had a stand and one or three minifigures in a pack. I actually bought a Town one, with three minifigures) for $6 at the Disney Store (The only LEGO Store in USA at the time) and I think the Star Wars one was $8 or so (And at the time was going for $35+ on eBay). This was back in 2000, way before any other license sets. I think the lawsuit happened in late 2000-2001, maybe 2002. Arguably the sets were action figures, they came with next to nothing on a stand. We got the better end of the deal anyways, the battle packs are much better. The only difference is that some of the old packs of three had better minifigures. Like the one I bought.... Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted September 10, 2009 Author Posted September 10, 2009 (edited) On that Brickipedia site, did anyone notice this under "Themes introduced or discontinued in 2010"?The Legendary is to be released (Note: The Legendary is a fan created sets only to be available on the Factory web site) Well - when you now look here it seems as if it disappeared. So either someone deleted it since this theme should be a surprise and not already announced now or it was a wrong information. Klaus-Dieter Edited September 10, 2009 by Klaus-Dieter Quote
andy0002 Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 its EXTREMELY unlikely... in fact id bet my collection on it(just kidding of course!!) that they would never release a palpatines arrest set because there would be kit fisto, mace windu, and a couple other jedi all in one set! you just do do that!! its possible this could be a comic con exclusive or something of the nature that only like 50 poeple on the planet receive.... but other than that... don't get your hopes up. blueandwhite Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 I agree with Sandy, let's not forget that we're only talking about the first half of 2010.Castle (Fantasy era) had it's second (and third) wave coming out in the second half of the year. I'm pretty sure that we'll see Castle for 2010 given that Ben Ellermann, the LEGO ambassador over at Classic-Castle has said as much. I suspect that this has more to do with the fact that the rumour that we'd be getting elves was quashed earlier this year. Quote

Btw: Since this year's awesome 10193 MVV surely sold and still sells very well and since there surely will be another exclusive (non-)Castle set in January (like this and last year): Do you think that we'll get another exclusive medieval set in January? Rick Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 My bets and hopes will be for a Pirates set (detailed soldier ship with two decks please ). Quote
Habakure Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 So its been confirmed no new pirate sets for 2010 (Maybe, just put on hold), amkes me wonder what lines will be coming out that have not already been announced. Thought there would be more information by now, about the last remaining lines coming out? Quote
ForceMaster Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 (edited) From Russia with news!) Yesterday in Russia, as you could quess, has passed the second festival of the Russian Lego Fan-Forum. Specially for this fest Lego presented first wave 2010 sets. Some of them we have never seen before (PoP, Power Miners, Space Police etc.)!) My friend Alexander, of cource, has loaded on a Flickr some photos of sets. But Lego has asked delete them =( I have good accurate detailed photos of Creator (red car), Technic (8046 - Helicopter and 8048 - Buggy), City (3178 - Hydroplan, 3180 - Patrol truck, 3181 - Airport, fire helecopter, fire jeep), Power Miners (8191 - Monster Jail), Star Wars (8084 - Snowtroopers BP, 8086 - Droid Tri-Fighter), Atlantis (underwater scooter, big scooter, Atlantis Catacomb), Ben 10 (two unknown monsters), Prince of Persia (7572 - Race Against Time), Space Police (police fighter) sets. If you wish to see pictures - write me the PM, please, and specify a series. Thanks!) =) Edited September 21, 2009 by ForceMaster Quote

Klaus-Dieter Posted September 29, 2009 Author Posted September 29, 2009 Since we haven't got yet neither a review nor any pics of the interior of the awesome 10199 Winter Toy Shop I can well imagine that it will be shown at BrickCon. But the last years only one exclusive set was shown at BrickCon. So this could mean that we'll see no exclusive set (neither from City nor from any other theme) in January. What do you think? The Cobra Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 Earlier today, a friend of mine asked me: "Since in 2010 there will surely be no Pirates and probably no Castle, is there gonna be one Advent Calendar only?" I fear the answer could be yes (and the theme would obviously be City). That's unless Lego finally comes up with a multi-themed Advent calendar. Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted October 28, 2009 Author Posted October 28, 2009 (edited) So some ideas about (possible) 2010 Exclusives: 10210: Imperial Flagship (officially confirmed) 10211: Grand Emporium (CC-styled building) ((un)officially confirmed) 10212: ??? 10213: additional train car in addition to 10194? 10214: TRU City Exclusive (set officially confirmed (number not confirmed)) 10215: PT/CW EXclusive or SW UCS set? 10216: Creator set? 10217: additional Winter set to 10199? 10218: AT-AT? (rumour) Since the Emerald Night did only include a dining car I wouldn't be surprised if TLG gave us a regular train car to add to 10194. The exclusive TRU City set will surely be released in next summer - so only question is what it'll be (City Square or Public Transportation Center or Truck Stop). Another big CW/PT Exlusive is imo very suppoably since TLG released one this year, too. If we did not get a new CW/PT Exclusive the nwe surely will get a new UCS set. Surely TLG will release another Creator set in 2010, too. But I really have no idea what it might be. Perhaps a monumental building (Sydney Opera/Cheops Pyramide/Caslte Neuschwanstein?) or a sculputure (Sphinx?) in addition the Eiffel Tower and the Taj Mahal A second Winter set is imo (when reading the S@H description of 10199 about 10199 being built in Town Plan style so that you can expand it with other houses) very supposably. And imo a candy shop or a bakery are the most supposably houses which could be released since these are surely even the most popular ones among JFOLs and the most demanded among AFOLs. The rumour of a new AT-AT appeared already some time ago - and since it came from X-Wingyoda I trust this rumour (at least as a rumour) as long as I do not hear something else. What do you think? That's unless Lego finally comes up with a multi-themed Advent calendar. I doubt that. They'll just do an Advent Calendar for whatever theme they're planning to kill off the year after Seriously, I imagine there will be another themed one. If they don't revive Belville in 2010 (and we've seen no news of this) then I imagine it will be some other theme, old or new. They seem to realise there is a market for alternates to the basic City advent Calendar, thankfully. Quote
The Who Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 They seem to realise there is a market for alternates to the basic City advent Calendar, thankfully. It's just how similar they tend to be that makes it start to get annoying after a while. Quote

I don't have any inside info but I think Public Transportation Center will be made. I was really hoping for the park, there was a good chance LEGO would make the other two sometime, but we will never get a park. Quote

Cwetqo Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 10213: additional train car in addition to 10194? This is unfortunately confirmed from several sources as not an option (Jamie's interview, our LA...) Too bad. Quote
