Legomilk mentioned "new themes" for the City theme next year.

So do you think that we will "only" get sets of new themes (like e. g. seaside, winter, zoo, ...) or even some add-ons to the awesome 7641 City Life?

I watched Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade yesterday and I thought that scene where Jones Jr. & Sr. where tied up to the chair and went into the rotating fireplace would be a great set as well. With a big round rope piece to fit over the 2 figs on 2 chairs and a nicely build fireplace in a detailed castle room. With a concrete, dark German planning room on the other side.

And of course a big set for the finale would be great as well. :sweet:

Shouldn't it be 3 (or 4)?

As for my wishlist: Western. Elves (or just a few more Castle sets, including dwarves! I still have none!!!). Some civillian city sets (seaside? CG has been and gone, so I wouldn't think so). But I think we will see a new Hospital or Fire station.

Rock band sets would be awesome too, I'd love to have Lego guitars (and basses!!!).

Should there be no more Power Miners, they would surely be replaced by another good vs. evil theme.

Thank you very much for that advise, The Cobra! :classic:

I corrected it.

This topic is no wishlist, The Cobra, but a discussion about which sets you think might be possible and a discussion about themes/sets which were already confirmed or about which rumours have been heard. So you should at least not write "wishlist".

Nevertheless I totally agree with you on two subjects:

1.

I really, really would like a new Western theme, too. But with the many new licensed themes I think that is regrettably excluded. :cry_sad:

2.

I'm really not familiar with Rock Band. Would this make a licensed theme or a regular theme? If it was licensed I wouldn't like it. Nevertheless some guitars and other musical instruments would be awesome! :oh3: I can't imagine TLG releasing a theme based on music - but you can never know.

Reffering to the ambassadors report, the Zoo is very probable. I would like to see there some maintaining vehicles too.

Well, Coast Guard is a good offer, but i think there is too much sets for it. I think it would be good to add 1 or 2 additional sets for it this year for a part-time - a beach model with lifeguard`s tower and maybe a Hovercraft as was offered earlier, maybe a remake of fireman`s one.

For a new monorail there is no place for sure, as my friend-ambassador said that TLC considers it being too expensive in producement and next sales. Maybe some kind of an elevated rail, or simple "light underground", not more.

As for me, i really hope for the TRAM. Modern, low-floor, multisectional and not as creepy as this recent yellow garbage. Hence waiting for a better version of a bus, as this reminds me cheap illegal chinese boxes on wheels.

And another thing why TLC just dont do some molds for new parts performing an ELEVATOR and a NORMAL SLIDING DOOR FOR BUS? Because the usual house door makes me feel embarassed and fooled and surely no motivation to go and buy such a crap with many unusefull standard building for a such price to get a bus which itself is a total HACKWORK? I`d rather go and made my own cheaper and better improved version of bus ordering elements from BrickLink.

I partly agree with you, BatonMedved!

I don't think that we'll see a zoo theme since this would mean many animals which seem to be very, very expensive. There aren't more than one or two new molds necessary since there are already molds for ice bear, crocodile, wolf, many different kinds of sea animals and different small animals. But a southern or eastern predator - like a tiger or a lion - is really needed for a zoo. And in order to have a set which looks appealing and offers enough playability more than only one sort of animal is for the main big set needed.

I even don't think that we'll get a tram since this would mean that we'd need road baseplates which are about 4/3 that big than the ones available now since there would be space needed between the lanes for the tram tracks.

And I even don't think that we'll get another set with a bus since TLG firstly wants to sell enough of this year's awesome 7641 City Life sets.

But I agree with you that a beach theme is very supposably. It could - like you already mentioned - even include some CG stuff in order to offer more playability and action and additions for the CG set. A seperate CG set (like the ones of last year) can imo be not awaited. But a CG watch platform like in the Beach Cafe set of the Paradisa theme is imo very supposable.

And I even agree with you that we very supposably will get an elevated train (but not monorail) as the fans' choice set in summer. It will very supposably look very similar to the classic Airport Shuttle but only on one level can't drive up and down but only on one level) and regrettably surely with many less minifigs but supposably one car (supposably a taxi) being included.

So the third City subtheme will be trains - and one of the two others will imo very supposably be a beach theme. But what about the left theme? I really hope for more extensions to the brilliant 7641 City Life - like e. g. mainly post office, bank, armored car, grocery and delivery car - but I doubt this since legomilk told us that there'll be two "new" themes. So perhaps a winter theme?

I saw this picture on brickshelf tonight with probably the complete new elves theme

We already had them in the Castle sets topic, rutmar, and they are only MOCs - so only fakes and no real sets.

Nevertheless I think that an Elves theme is very supposably.

I see that there are enough ideas for 2010.

But wait there with it soon because we read the first 2010 sets self on the Internet.

And the first pictures will come very quickly I suspect.

As for the City in 2010, lest we not forget the set which needed to be voted for.

The choices were:

Town Centre Area

Monorail System/station

Truck Stop Garage

I don't really want the truck stop because we;ve just got a massive garage for City in Summer 2009.

I don't mind what wins the vote eventually, because I would love a city centre, but a monorail...

As a sidenote, I think Lego should create some sort of shopping centre or shopping area, because we don't have one.

My ideas for the theme I acctually pay attention to.

Power miners- The theme will probably be finished off by a rediculously large PM base with detachable vehicles and large rock monsters.

Space- Probably a large space jail or police station. Or possibly a new space theme! :cry_happy: Loaded with plenty of fun jokes like the first wave. Like how we got "Blacktron" and "I heart insectoids".

SW- Hopefully some remakes of some old sets like the cantina and jabbas palace. Surely more CW.

Agents- I don't know they might have reached their final year! :cry_sad::cry_sad:

Those are my ideas.

Are you saying there are already 2010 sets being listed? :classic: If so please POST!!!!!:wink:

LEGO, please make romans in 2010, you've covered every major theme idea, exept for ancients. I think romans are regaining popularity (Since 300 is starting to become less popular) who knows, maybe the people who made "300" are making a similar movie staring romans (maybe called "Legion").

LEGO has a lot more to work with by making romans. Please make romans in the year of the winter olympics.

Thank you very much for that information, legomilk! :classic:

Last years, pics surfaced on August 19th/20th. So let's just wait and hope.

I think that when legomilk says that pics "will come very quickly" this doesn't mean that we'll have to wait until the middle of August since this would really not be quickly or soon.

When I remember right then we saw pics of the first half of the 2008 sets already in July 2007 and only last year they appeared that late (please correct me if I'm wrong).

So I suppose that we'll see pics - or at least get a list of some sets of the first half of 2010 - already in the beginning or the middle of July.

I totally agree with you, Emperor claduis rome!

But:

1. I firstly want to get a new Western theme - firstly after that a Roman theme.

2. We now already know that the two new themes for 2010 will be Ben10 and some sort of Aquazone theme - so there is no room for any other more theme.

THIS IS SPARTA!

As i already mentioned in wrong topic, there will be an Atlantik theme.

rails.

Well, talking about the tram rails, i think about something simple as the 12V rails. But if it is an elevated train, i wish it could be a metro-style or underground-like, whatever.

Like it was stated earlier the price of the fans' choice set will be similar to the one of this year's Star Wars Fan's Choice set (namely the Home One Mon Calamari Cruiser) - so 120 Euros or let's say: somewhere between 100 and 150 Euros/Dollars.

So it will not include any motor or PF functions but "only" the elevated train itself, the elevated tracks and some minifigs. According to the pics of the ToysRUS poll I think that it will even include a road plate, a little snack bar and a taxi.

But that might just be rumors. Besides, i don't think lego wants to repeat Aqua-raiders and make a scuba theme.

I believe BatonMedved since last year's news about the construction sets were right, too. So why should he now give us some wrong information?!

But his source might be wrong since I'm not sure about the repeat of Aquaraiders, too.

If TLG released a theme like this one (even if it was in a more classic style like the one from the beginning of the 90ths) it would be horrible!

But since there is since a while that Sea Life Atlantis with Lego subs and divers somewhere TLG perhaps thinks that kids now have seen this exhibition and consequently would like again an Aquariders theme - imo a totally wrong conclusion! :hmpf:

Licenced themes don't count as new themes I don't think. Lego usually makes 2 Original (Or sub/remake) themes each year. Lego might have something else up there sleeve :classic:

Also klaus, if lego made a Wild west theme, I'd buy a few sets. But I wouldn't get crazy for it (Kinda like the way I feel about the new Castle)

I'm really not sure about that, Emperor claduis rome. :sceptic:

There are already four new licensed themes next year - there haven't been that a huge number of new licensed themes in one year be released before. Pluy we'll get that "Atlantik" theme. That makes five new themes in total. I'm already surprised that TLG has the capacity to produce that many new sets. But for another theme I regrettably see no chance. :cry_sad:

I think we will see a Greek theme from Disney based upon the Percy Jackson book line. Disney is already making a movie for release in 2010 and to me this is where I see a Greek them coming from.

That is a good series, a nice short read.

I bet that in January there'll be again an exclusive set for 100-150 Euros. What do you think it'll be?

I don't think that it'll be a City set since 10199 will firstly be released in the end of October - so another exclusive City set only two months after this sounds to me very unrealistic.

But perhaps we'll see another Castle Exclusive - perhaps a big castle in more classic style?

Btw: I'm really disappointed that we have not been getting any hint on which SW OT and City sets we have to await in the first half of next year - and legomilk told us more than three weeks ago that there'll be information on new sets soon! :hmpf_bad:
