LEGOMAN132 Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 It was said that it'll be similar to the Aquazone theme from 2007.But I highly doubt that since this theme seemed to be not a very big success. Possibly it's a remake of the brilliant underwater exploration theme from the mid-ninetees as a new subtheme for City - that would be awesome! Klaus-Dieter If its a City subtheme we could get some nice new Brick made Creratures and a Sub transport truck. Or a giant squid capture Transport. Quote

CDC Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 my guess on 2010: pirates stay city spongebob replaced by ben10 castle stays? space police stays power miners replaced by* agents replaced by* star wars stays indiana jones replaced by prince of persia lamborghini replaced by toy story racers stay *new themes for 2010 - atlantik?, western maybe?, greeks?, rock band =!? Hmm, i hope we get some news soon, this is just too much to handle, i need to know what new sets are we getting next year! Quote

Hmm, i hope we get some news soon, this is just too much to handle, i need to know what new sets are we getting next year! I think we'll still have Lambourghini for the display big Racer set, if not a smaller scale minifig set. We'll probably still have more Castle. Don't worry, sooner or later someone usually ends up illegally scanning a Lego trade catalogue. Luckily we got a sneak peak of the new Star Wars battlepacks in an official TLG video. I hope they make that mistake (if it was one) again. Quote
______ Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 I just hope there is a new pirate ship really. And i wish they remade ninja Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted August 5, 2009 Author Posted August 5, 2009 (edited) *new themes for 2010 - atlantik?, western maybe?, greeks?, rock band =!?Hmm, i hope we get some news soon, this is just too much to handle, i need to know what new sets are we getting next year! Western would be absolutely  ! But like already mentioned several times I highly doubt it. But Greeks are possible since there is that Minotauris board game this year. About Atlantic I'm not sure. I totally agree with you on the news, CDC! But more than pics - which I of course really want to see, too - I want to know which new themes we have to await! I just hope there is a new pirate ship really. And i wish they remade ninja Since Pirates will continue in 2010 I'm sure that there'll be a ship for the soldiers - probably unluckily as usual smaller than the pirates' ship. As for the Ninja theme I see no chance. If there are any Castle sets in 2010 than they'll be fantasy area. Klaus-Dieter Edited August 5, 2009 by Klaus-Dieter Quote
Peppermint_M Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 Ninja might be possible... After all, there is a big thing for ninja on Lego Universe, proving there is a market for it. Yes Lego has done it before, but that was ten years ago and the kids they sell Lego too these days were: A. Not Born or B. Still playing with Duplo due to their alarming tendancy to put small things in their mouth. I bet Eurobricks has members who were considered too young for system Lego when Ninja was out... Plus the castle factions are getting "stale" Royal Knights are still good, but the non-humans are getting boring. Ninja is the perfect way to revitalise it. I'm would like to see some Atlantic/k pics soon, if it is true. Quote

I don't say that we'll never get some new Ninja sets, Peppermint_M. But for next year it's imo totally excluded since TLG always makes a break of one year before a completely new Castle theme comes up. Plus think about Prince of Persia - these are Arabin knights and it is a licensed theme. Nevertheless it's some sort of "Castle" theme. Because of that I could well imagine that we won't see any new Castle sets in 2010. Not only because I prefer Western over Ninja - but imo although the chances are (at least for the next years) very small anyway if one of these themes will be released it firstly will be Western (poll on EB with more votes for Western than for Ninja, poll created by TLG whether we want Animals, Robots or Western for a new Factory theme, many topics about Western but only very few about Ninja on EB, ...). But of course I even could be wrong. Klaus-Dieter Quote
Emperor Claudius Rome Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Klaus, you shouldn't give up hope on there being only one original theme in 2010. You got to believe... Believe it! Also, A greek theme would most likely end up like the Vikings theme. Doing well sales wise, but failing in the long run! Quote

Oky Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Huh? Those sound very similar to the Aqua Raiders sets. Are you sure you aren't making these up? Quote
Peppermint_M Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Sounds like it's Legendary, but until there are pictures one cannot tell. Mythic monsters or normal sea creatres? Marble pillars or glass sea-bases? Oh, I need pictures! Quote

Yloquen Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 I just found this: It seems authentic to me but interestingly it's from last month and I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere ... Link here Quote
Oky Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Interesting. This must be 8059 Sand Cutter. Thanks for posting! Judging from that image, this theme looks like a combo of underwater Bionicle sets and Power Miners. Not sure if I'm liking it. I'll have to see the other sets to make a judgment. One thing is for sure tho: that trident is sweet! Quote
Etzel Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 I just found this: No! That was certainly not what I wanted! I can of course hope that it's fake but I don't think so. It looks very real... like some sort of underwater Power Miners. Well, at least this is good for my wallet Quote
The Cobra Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Looks like the world is full of unbelievers... Well, that's an Italian site; a publisher, one their titles being ToyStore (a preview can be found here). News reads: "The new line will be supported by a massive tv campaign and a dedicated website" Registering to their site requires full user name, address, and workplace data, so I'm not telling them the story of my life just to get a few more words about Lego Atlantis. Other Lego news they have: - Three TV Christmas Campagins (Police, Farm, Construction). - Third edition for the Retailer's catalogue, including Star Wars' Death Star and two Technic products). - Lego Italy has a new marketing manager. THe good news is you can browse their image directory here ; the bad news is you're not gonna find bigger images. Quote
Sandy Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 I'm just wondering what demographic is TLG trying to cater with a theme that combines Bionicle-type figures to Power Miners-type vehicles? I thought the little ADHD boys had enough action-packed themes as it is... Quote
The Cobra Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 @ Svelte, yep, and that's the only nice thing so far about this theme @ Sandy: I have to guess they aim to "child whose parents will spend money on these"; Atalantis hardly looks as an AFOL oriented theme so far. Quote
Sandy Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 @ Sandy: I have to guess they aim to "child whose parents will spend money on these"; Atalantis hardly looks as an AFOL oriented theme so far. But I don't understand their logic: Bionicle is going to continue, Power Miners is getting new sets, so how the heck do they think they can sell a combination of these two to the same demographic of kids as well?
