Thanks for the fantastic review svelte-corps, once more you've done it again! I also love your humourous scenes too, my favourite being the one where Mutt is mercifully killed. If only that had really happened.

I'm really surprised how this set turned out to be, far better than I thought it would. There is a heap of nice bley slopes here, as well as some cool tan which I always find useful. Plus five figs is excellent, Righteous Squid and I will be extremely pleased that the skeleton men have reversible heads, and I love their torso prints. I'm a tad disappointed in Mutt's motorcycle; on one hand it is really cool and the dark red is accurate, on the other hand they've once more denied me a red bike for Robin!

I voted above average for this set, thanks again.

Batbrick Away!

Like a lot of you, the bike is magnificient.

I have built 7620 for bikes and i will probably built it for this new bike.

These Indiana jones sets are more and more incredible.

when i first saw this set, i thought it was stupid. now, i still think it is stupid. i voted "average" instead of "poor" only because of the awesome minifigs and the super-cool awesome motorcycle  i think that i will only get this set if i get it for free (aka gift) or it goes on sale. even though i don't like the set itself, it would still be worth buying for the minifigs, bike, and parts. i know that it would be hard to design a set of this scene in the movie as a set of this smaller size and that if it were much larger (more expensive and more awesome) people would be less likely to buy it because there is not as much to do with it as the other larger sets. because of all this i have concluded that the set designer did the best job that he/she could to design this set at the small size. anyway, thanks for another great review of a set not-so-good (in my opinion) set with awesome minifigs and a super-cool awesome motorcycle!

must get super-cool awsome motorcycle!

Thanks for yet another great pre-release review, Svelte! Initially, I was kinda meh about this set, but now after reading your review, I might get one of these after all, if only for the neat minifigs and bike. :sweet:

All Indiana Jones sets this year are perfect for Pirate Enthusiasts!

Cemetry has Gold Chests, Goblets, Crystals, Conquistadors, leafs for ports or little outlets and all in this cheap set!

Amazing! Plus, A new bike!

Now we can have the Wild Hogs in lego City!

OMG, I am really sorry for that. Dita in our country is a woman name and I automatically thought, that you are a woman. Sorry man!

Wonderful review once again, Svelte. But personally, I think this set is the worst of all Indy sets so far. It's overpriced (with 182 pieces, that seems almost reasonable, but a lot of small detail parts could have been left out or not considered when pricing). I really have to disagree with you that this set is better than River Chase- that was a great set at an amazing price. The play features on this are nice, but the set in itself looks slapped together. The accessories and notable pieces are pretty nice, though (excluding the pearl gold chest :wink:). It would have been nice to see something extra, though, like a tree for one of the Cauchilla people to hide in. Then, maybe the set would be better for it's price.

As a collector, I'll be picking this up, but I'm not very happy with the set. I rated "Average".

Thanks for the greate review svelte_corps!

For $20 bucks (US) the price is not bad after seeing what comes in the box. Going to be buying 2-3 of these myself just to get the motorcycle for my city. Nice to have another crystal skull :alien: in a lower cost set.

I see why TLC is afraid of making new pieces, but like the tommy guns comes 6 months too late for the Shanghai Chase, the new bike comes 18 months too late for the Motorcycle Chase. I guess that would have looked awesome (in darkgray of course, not like this).

(Actually the cross bike piece was a new one, but I assume TLC thought it might be more useful than a bike in 1930s look)

Thanks a lot for this review, might get the set for pieces, minifigs and bike.

btw.... am I the only one who dislikes the new Indy head totally? Was he ever smiling, fooling around, making jokes, laughing?? The funniest thing about his character (based on James Bond and super-masculine B-Action-Adventure movies of the 50s) is that he is actually the tough guy, NOT funny. Sigh.... But I guess I am also the minority who dislikes standard smiles on the Hoth Soldiers....

Yes, you are.

Yes, he was seen cracking jokes, or at least being sarcastic, quite a few times.

And if you compare the two facial expressions below, you'll see that they are quite similar:

Besides, I think these new sets are based on the videogame. Even though Indy may be a tough guy in the movies, but Lego's version is an adventure-loving daredevil. He smiled a lot like this in the game. Slightly inaccurate maybe, but it makes the theme more fun IMO.

Awesome review! I really want this set because of Mutt, knifes,GOLD treasure chest and crystal skull! For all that, this is really cheap set!

I guess USD are pretty same price in euros. :skull:

Yana, my friend.

But the head comes quite useful if you use it for other soldiers. You could give the head to a Hoth trooper with bazooka who blew up an AT-AT to show how happy he is.

I would love to preorder the set right now, but german Amazon still has all other Indy Sets except for this one. Also the new toyshop catalouge has no picture of this excellent set. I hope that doesn´t mean that I have to buy it in S@H. 27 bucks for that is a little too much.

Great review as always Svelte! The conquistador armour is gorgeous, and Mutt is so much hotter as a minifig! We (ie. the Walrus and I) were very happy to find out the prices for the new Indy sets. For licenced sets, they're reasonably priced. We just hope the good prices hold out, what with Lego's recent trend of upping prices without warning... They're definitely a better deal than the Blockade Runner set...$280AUD...ouch!!
