Bricks Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Is there now or not pictures places ?http://www.flickr.com/photos/donneyboy/351...pool-mostphotos You should remove the pictures, because TLC want to have their own big suprise tomorrow By the way, did someone know more about the event? 'Bricks' Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted May 8, 2009 Eurobricks Emperor Posted May 8, 2009 From now on this thread is about the sets and nothing else like I asked before. Don't bother to post about anything else, it's a waste of effort! I'll get rid of any off-topic posts from this point on. Quote
Peppermint_M Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 (edited) /All Edited away due to off topicness/ New Post: So, how am I supposed to make room for such a massive set alongside my giant WIPs? Do we have dimensions? Edited May 8, 2009 by Peppermint_M Quote
Rick Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Someone over at LowLUG counted a 48 x 48 green base (I didn't bother myself). Not sure if it's one green 48 x 48 baseplate though. Judging from the pic I've seen I'd say a lot of the price will be for the PF-functions. I'll definitely pass on this one. Bring on the new CC building! (btw: Anyone have any news on the new CC building?) Quote
Hinckley Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Someone over at LowLUG counted a 48 x 48 green base (I didn't bother myself). That is definitely what it is. I have confirmation on that. Quote
-JD- Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 I hate how the RBR is £200ish. Why LEGO? Why? Another B'Day list item I suppose.... Quote
Lego12 Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 I couldn't resist and looked at the merry-go-round. It seems a bit expensive for $380. It only took me about 30 seconds to find it. Quote
Natman8000 Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 I saw the merry go round. It looks really really big. Its interesting how there is tan beards all around it. But othr wise nothing too amazing. Quote
Ricecracker Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 I couldn't resist and looked at the merry-go-round. Tsk, Tsk. Bad boy It seems a bit expensive for $380. It only took me about 30 seconds to find it. I agree on both counts, unfortunately. Quote
RoflWafls Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 I found it, and it's cool .But, to comply with Hinckley, keep it a surprise, honor LEGO's requests, and piss everyone else off ( ), I will not post a link OR upload it to my flickr. All I will say is this: Yes, there are a lot of Jester hats. Goodbye Whats the Rebel Blockade Runner look like? Quote
Tinn-man Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Whats the Rebel Blockade Runner look like? Well, i haven't seen that , just the merry go round. Quote
RoflWafls Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Well, i haven't seen that , just the merry go round. Oh, theres just pictures of the Merry-Go-Round, my mistake Quote
Natman8000 Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 I see about 8 jester hats on the merry go round. On the top there is a boatload of rare parts, such as pearl gold dishes, gold crystals, and tan beards. There are also lots of minifigs and short people. Quote
Ricecracker Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 There are also lots of minifigs and short people. I counted nine, to be exact. Quote
Natman8000 Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 I counted nine, to be exact. Minifigs or hats? Quote
Kanal-K1 Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Merry Go Round seems very attractive, but, hell a way overpriced...39990 JPY is equal to 405 USD, counted at xe.com. Even if loaded with all those power and sound functions, 405 bucks I will better spent for other Lego stuff... Quote
Algernon Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Yeah, the Merry-Go-Round seems like it will only be worth a buy to City diehards. Me, I'm not terribly attracted. Quote
astra Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Let's just wait and see, if one thing's for sure, then it would be that Lego prices differ all around the world. And Japan is one of the more 'expensive' countries... My guess? Around 200/250 Euro... Quote
WhiteFang Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 Dear all, To separate the 10196 Carousel/Merry Go Round discussion with the rest of the news, I have created this topic for continued discussion over in Eurobricks Trains & Town Forum. This is the new discussion area. Please continue your thoughts and views in there. Thanks. WhiteFang Quote
chris_austin Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 The pricing is definitely all wrong. So don't fret about the prices just yet! The sets will surely be expensive but not THAT expensive. Check out the price for the AT-OT - 39,990 JPY which equates to about $400 but we know that from LEGO.com, it's actually $250 or £166. Quote
daxflame680 Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 The pricing is definitely all wrong. No, the pricing isn't all wrong. Japan often has to pay 1.5-3 times more for LEGO than the US. Actually, I shouldn't be laughing, since I'm part-Japanese, and it ticks me off when Japan gets screwed. Quote
