its official i can predict the future...or i am an amazing planner....

I live in columbus and every time I go to Easton I walk around i say to myself...or anyone that will listen " why doesn't lego put a store here...." Easton was designed by guys who worked on Down town Disney, it definitely has that vibe even thought it is central Ohio. There really are no toy stores there they will make a killing...from me and other people might help too. I hope it is a good sized store and really hope it opens within the year. PAB here I come!!!

this just made my week. Thank you so so so so much lego. I used to have to go to Chicago to get my fix.

Gosh, you're lucky. Of course they don't open one in Michigan. :hmpf_bad:

Well, the ones in the U.S. aren't great for me, but the Frankfurt store is very good news! :sweet: I have to fly through there every year I'll I should be able to get there in September.

It's always good to have more stores in the U.S. anyway though in case you ever need to be in the area.

As an open offer... anyone who happens to get to a new store opening and picks up the "exclusive" set (not so much the t-shirt, but you never know), get two, then PM me and we'll make a deal for the spare one.

Seriously.

I hear you!!! The same here (as regards the Frankfurt store). I've been saying for the past two years or so that I really didn't understand why there was no store in Frankfurt, especially if you consider that you only have the one in Munich (which is south), and then the two in Cologne and Oberhausen which is really, really close to each other, and Hamburg. Nothing inbetween. But finally, there's a store coming to Frankfurt. It's like TLG has bugged my house and overheard me thinking out loud. But I won't complain in this case ...

Finally! :cry_happy:

I've been waiting for this moment ever since I moved to Dallas over 4 years ago.

I'm pretty excited about the new store opening in Frisco TX (which is only 10 minutes away from where I live), but I'm also pretty surprised that Lego is also opening another store at Northpark which is just another 20 or so miles away.

So, basically we're getting 2 new stores for the Dallas area. Sorry guys! I know it's rough for those of you who have nothing even remotely close to them. I feel your pain!

I'll try to cover all of the opening events in case anyone here is interested. Here are the latest pictures of the new store at Stonebriar Centre.

Happy trails...

Hopefully these stores will do well!

But what of these "Limited Edition" Sets? (Bucking Bronco, Chessie, etc) Are they real sets, one-time in-store models, or what?! My first thought was that the Bucking Bronco would fit perfectly in with the Farm motif sets...

They appear to be one-time in-store only models:

I'm very excited at having a LEGO store opening in Oklahoma. I currently live about an hour away from where it will be but in about a year I'll be about 2 hours away. I have never been to a LEGO store as there are none within 10 hours of where I live so I couldn't justify the trip.

But, now I'll have one just an hour away and I will be there for the grand opening celebrations.

Oh, and regarding the exclusive models: They are offered on Saturday of the Grand Opening. It says that the first 300 people to spend $35 or more will get one of the models. On Sunday they have the same deal but for a t-shirt (in kids sizes) instead of an exclusive model. I am going to be one of those 300 on Saturday to get an exclusive model.

Its nice to be getting a few stores in Ohio seeing as we don't have any right now. Although why Columbus and Cincinnati. We want them in Cleveland! :hmpf_bad:

Posted

Well, this is good, since Raleigh, North Carolina is closer than Lawrenceville, Georgia.

But still Lego, how desperately we (me) need / want a store on the east coast of South Carolina...

Posted

The Ohio stores are good news for me. I live in southern Indiana so the closest to me at the moment is Chicago (I believe) and I wasn't going to seriously consider a 6 hour drive to go to one of these stores. The Cincinnati store on the other hand is about a 3 hour drive for me. That makes it a lot more reasonable. I also have relatives in Dayton that I go see every few months, so a side trip isn't out of the question. Echoing the earlier question, does anyone know when this store is supposed to open?

Of course a store in either Lousiville or Indianapolis would be even better, for me anyway.

Posted

Although these openings are useless to me, I can't complain because more Lego stores is undeniably good news, but we seriously need a Lego shop somewhere in the North of England as there are a couple down South and I can't afford to travel to Brghton every time I want to go to one :cry_sad:

Also, whatever happened to the Lego discovery/imagination centre that was going to be built in Scarborough, it just disapeared, and it would have been perfect too...
