6D,

We need to slow down and keep in one group. I've edited my posts so that we're not in the semi, but kept the main conversation points up so that everyone else's fits in.

It might be a good idea if you went over your own posts and edited them a bit so we stick with The Brickster's plot and don't mess up his mystery.

Guys: I'm really glad that you're enjoying the mystery, but I just explained to one of the groups that they're getting way ahead of the story.

I just spent more than 1/2 hour (not including this message) "undoing" and explaining to them that I need time to deliver the CORRECT scenerio before we can continue along the logical path. This deters me from updating each thread as I was preparing to do.

While this entire mystery is somewhat open-ended allowing interactivity and dynamic movement (not talking about Private Messaging), it does have some sequenced events that need to occur - like the Emerald Express stalling in Willoughby. When groups go off on a tangents, they're assuming that something will happen when in fact they may not.

Trains coming out of no where, weapons that just so happen to be in your pocket, and actions occuring before arriving at your destination are all examples of bad story that I try to eliminate from my mysteries. The story needs to flow, and I need a chance to delivery your scenerio and choices.

Please do not do this. If you have a question, ask me, but don't assume that you can determine what will occur next. If that were the case, you wouldn't need me at all and this Mystery would simply be a "It Was a Dark and Stormy Night" scenerio in which each participant just makes up the story as they go along.

Aye, skipper.

Is it okay that I edited them? I hope the story is still pretty much the same..

That's fine now. It's done. Let's just continue forward. Consider the train, the bridge, and the arrival at the semi just visions of your eagerness to escape Willoughby.

Eh, so I edit them back now?

Sorry.

Just STOP! No more, please. We'll just continue from my last post. Don't worry about what you wrote or edited.

TheBrickster slowly takes a hidden revolver from his vest aiming it at the next person that prevents him from catching up with the actions of the other three groups... "Who's first"; he whispers, as he eagerly cocks the trigger... "Let's see, will six bullets be enough"?

Righto. Sorry. We'll carry on from your post then :classic:

And erm, I'm wearing a bullet-proof vest. As of now. Right now. Says me

I presume its stalled because the storyline needs to be fixed?

Fine with me, its your mystery, and our group have gone a bit wild, mostly down to me, so do what you need to do, mate.

Phew. I'm feeling calmer already. I always get excited when I'm in a game!

EDIT: ooh, I've got a title. I know what its for. Oops

Next word out of you will result in your new character being Scrappy the Mystery Dog.

I don't know what to do now.

You've put me in an awkward situation, even though I may have done the same thing to you, and to be honest I feel a little put out.

I mean, I've said sorry a zillion times, but now I don't know whether I should even be posting here or not.

I guess I feel unwelcome.

I mean, I know your just being funny by saying about the whole revolver thing and me being Scrappy, but I've got a bit of an issue with not being able to understand people's meanings, something I was born with I think, and so I just want you to be a bit clearer when/when not you are/are not threatening me or something.

That way I wouldn't feel quite so stressed, even though I'm sure you are.

Sorry, your probably gonna make me Scrappy now that I posted, but I just wanted to say that, so I can be a bit clearer. It also might help us get on a bit better.

Y...

I'm going to venture a guess that TheBrickster's actions are gentle ribbing, with a point. He needs to catch up on the threads and was just making a clear point, IMO. Don't take it personally, it's clear you're a bit sensitive. There's nothing wrong with that, but keep it in mind when something like this happens. Nobody means you any offense. My advice: take it with a grain of salt, know that you're a good member and a fun participant in the game, and walk away from the computer for a bit. Come back later with a fresh attitude. And don't worry. People like you.

Thanks. I mean, I know that, I was just explaining that sometimes I might end up coming across as a bit upset or something because of that little glitch in my mind, I guess you could call it. I have no quarrel with The Brickster, I just wanted to explain.

I'll do one more round of the forums, then I'll go and build some Lego.

Cheers, Hinckley.

EDIT: I also hate myself being the center of attention, so for The Brickster's, and everyone else's sake: STAY ON TOPIC!

Oh dear, it seems our group got a little distracted. That's why I wanted to be in the farm group with my friend Herman. :look::wink:

I take it we'll be back in soon? :sweet:

Yes, what Dragonator said, sorry for our little distraction and getting ahead of the mystery. I really am eager to play. :cry_happy:

I think we're all a bit too eager to play!

I was lucky to be away during this whole "retconning" episode of Group D, but I hope you don't mind if I give Captain Zuloo a great, big "I TOLD YOU SO!"

Seriously, I literally went "no no, don't just make up things, let's concentrate on the clues TheBrickster gave us", but I guess men are just stubborn as mules when they get an idea in their head, haha.

I don't mean any offense, Captain Zuloo, because if this had been an open-ended and creatively free game, your idea would've been just swell, but it's TheBrickster who calls the shots in this game, and I really felt we shouldn't cross him (too much).

I hope we all learned a valuable lesson of roleplaying now, and that TheBrickster would soon reopen our topic so we can continue our quest.

Your title needs changing to "I TOLD YOU SO, Smartypants"

Or "Smug Sandy"

Just kidding! Where is our group approx.? I believe we're walking towards the semi, put are currently frozen in a pause position!

Thank god. I've got to agree with you! We've got to wait to go ahead. That's why I kind of tried to slow it down with random crap

That's seriously what ruins games for me tough. When people go too far without host consent. It just doesn't make sense to me, and derails (punny!) the whole game!

On the other hand, I don't see what we're supposed to do here.

I hope it's okay if I posted that link in in Thread C? If not, sorry about that, I'll take it out. Anyway, the farm story is running smoothly so far, just arrived at the freaky house. I'm a little scared to find out beyond this point

Batbrick Away!

I love our mini-chapter. We seem to be discovering a lot or at least postulating some interesting theories. I wonder what I find out when I investigate the kettle?

IGNORE! MOMENT OF STUPIDITY!

Batbrick Away!

Wait, I missed this kettle thing, is this recent?

Batbrick Away!

Is that a joke? :look: I seriously hope so.

Not a joke, but don't worry, I just embarrassingly realised what it was, farm guys have had it all along but i thought you were referring to it in the house. Sorry about that!

Batbrick Sucks :cry_sad:

There have been several posts and points made about it. Scruffy found it in the field after the train arrived. I think someone used it to pour something over the coals and discarded it. Scruffy gave it to me and I've asked to investigate it, but TheBrickster hasn't told me anything about it yet. You do suck, though. It's seriously been the focus of at least five posts... :sceptic:

Yo, Sir Dillon: Stepford Wives.

Unless you not knowing the reference is a clue that we have been transported back in time to the 1800's... :look: with a convertible and a semi. *huh* Now, I'm just grasping at straws here.

I had a moment of time when I couldn't post as much because I was busy studying, so I must have missed the train bit, thanks for that, but honestly that remark a second ago was a bit of moment induced stupidity.

Am I allowed to inquire about the kettle though? Or perhaps I should wait until you have information.

I PMed Brickster about it and apparently Scruffy made it up... :hmpf_bad: Got me thinking, though! Nice job, Otters. :sweet:
