Congratulations on a very fine first set ever! My very first Lego set after aproximately 9 "dark ages" years was very comparable on the one hand and yet also very incomparable: it was in fact the 7127 AT-ST back in 2001!

I've never looked back since.

Depenmding on budget and tastes (OT vs. PT), I'd also recommend the 10188 Death Star, the 7749 Echo Base set, the 10195 AT-OT / Dropship set and if you're after older sets, I'd also highly recommend the 4483 AT-AT, the 6210 Sailbarge and the 6211 Star Destroyer.

But watch out, buying SW Lego is addictive!

Thanks for the recomendations! I definately want that death star, so many cool figures included with that.

The echo base set is a good recomendation too, I was drooling over that last night. I want to pick up the snowspeeder base kit and the one with more troopers.

Yesterday I got the battle pack rebel trooper speeder kit, today I picked up the assassin droid and clone trooper packs. I love those $10-12 kits.

Gotta save the death star now lol...

Nice Review.

The set is great and I love it.

On one of my Rebel Troopers his helmet doesn't stay on properly :hmpf_bad: .

I push the helmet down and it just pops back off making it really loose.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Anyway this set works great with a few Storm Trooper battle packs to even out the no. of good and evil.

This set is pure awesome. Twelve minifigs, including New Ewoks, Commandos, Leia, and the return of Biker Scouts.

Also an excellent array of weapons.

Also, i found an article on the AT-ST on Wookiepedia that has pictures of the walker. Its legs do like chicken legs and its nickname is 'chicken walker'

Sorry but your review is now ruined for me. How you sorted the minifgs good/bad/Ewoks made me think of them like "The good the bad and the Ewoks!"

And whenever you where talking about the walkers chicken legs it immediately reminded me of G.I.R's comment on the invader Zim Episode with the Megadoomer.

Lol, the ewoks are my favorite part. Now I have three ewok corpses I can use to spice up any scene I build, hoth, tatooine, naboo... they work anywhere! :)

Good review, but I probably won't buy it, too expensive.

Are the Ewok head pieces made from that rubbery stuff or are they hard like a normal lego piece?

I just got this set yesterday and am through building everything but the bunker itself. A couple things I have noticed.

1. My Navy Trooper does not have the extra circle on his belt.

2. The little handlebar in the AT-ST that figures can hold makes it impossible for them to be straight coming out of the hatch. There is no way to stand them up like on the box.

3. The Telescope pieces that act as blasters on the front of the AT-ST are a poor design flaw. The hole in the telescope is not quiet the right size for peg, so there is not a hard connection and it can fall off.

Other than that, the set is great.

Which is the same for Anakin's Y-wing where they are used as the cannons in Ahsoka's part of the cockpit.

It's a nice part, but let's not overdo the use of it TLG :hmpf:

I see that the Battle of Endor is already discontinued in the UK: 8038 on legoshop.com "Sorry, item is not available in this country: United Kingdom."

That's disappointing, as I was thinking of buying it next year. Now I suppose I'll have to buy it from ebay or Bricklink with their extortionate prices. (That must be a record for a Star Wars set. Only available for about six months and already discontinued.)

I want to buy the Battle of Endor but i can not find this.

The Battle of Endor Set is listed on LEGO january newsletter but not online available!?

Is the Battle of Endor truly already discontinued ? :oh3:

thank you for the very detailed review !

id really like to get my hands on this one, but its a bit to expensive for what it is.

The new AT-ST looks quite nice, but the legs look to skinny. I think mixed with the older AT-ST set and this one = a good MOC could come out of it.

thanks again for all the pictures ! fantastic review

This is an awesome set. I would highly recommend it too. Although I own the set, I didn't notice that the endor bike is slightly different than the gunship. Thanks for the review and pointing that out.

Agreed.

Stay cool, they've just had trouble making enough of the 2010 January wave sets.

Most places were sold out pretty fast, so I guess this set is "on hold", but it'll be back.

In fact I believe this set will be available for as long as the 10178 Motorized AT-AT has.

Don't panic.
