Governor Mister Phes Posted November 23, 2005 Governor Posted November 23, 2005 Does the top of your coach lift off yet, The Brickster? Quote
xwingyoda Posted November 23, 2005 Posted November 23, 2005 Actually Lego produced two great Stagecoachs: first one and the fantastic second second one :D :P Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted November 24, 2005 Author Posted November 24, 2005 I like the 2nd one the best. Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted November 24, 2005 Author Posted November 24, 2005 Does the top of your coach lift off yet, The Brickster? Not yet Phes, but this should be pretty easy (if I had some smooth tiles). Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted November 24, 2005 Governor Posted November 24, 2005 Actually Lego produced two great Stagecoachs: first one and the fantastic second second one :D :P But The Brickster's stage coach is the best! Why is red such a popular colour for stage coaches though? Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted November 24, 2005 Author Posted November 24, 2005 It sounds like coaches were made in other colors, but according to the attached article:, "Wells Fargo will forever be remembered for the Overland Stage Line with the large red Concord Stagecoaches so familiar to us all". It was probably a marketing ploy on their part to use a color that stood out and appeared "faster" - if they knew this then. Stagecoach History Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted November 24, 2005 Governor Posted November 24, 2005 And if someone was to be hit by a red stage coach then their blood wouldn't ruin the paint work... Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted November 24, 2005 Author Posted November 24, 2005 In doing a little more research, it looks like Wells Cargo was also known for their red brick buildings with green shutters (this should be easy for Lego mocs). Not surprising that they paint their coaches the same "trade" color for easy recognition. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted November 24, 2005 Governor Posted November 24, 2005 Where do you do your research, The Brickster? Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted November 24, 2005 Governor Posted November 24, 2005 I was hoping you could be a little more specific than that! Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted November 26, 2005 Author Posted November 26, 2005 I was just looking at some Western Town mocs and discovered a pretty nice site called Minimundo.de. There, they have a Western Town complete with a red 6-stud wide coach. Take a look at see how it compares with my red one. Comments appreciated. Western Town MOC PS. the site also has some nice castles, a galleon, and port town - Phes. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted November 27, 2005 Governor Posted November 27, 2005 Yes, it does have some interesting looking MOCs which will find their way into future threads no doubt... Is this what we're suppose to be looking at? Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted November 29, 2005 Governor Posted November 29, 2005 The Brickster, your stagecoach only has 2 horsies, but the others have 4. What's going on here? Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted November 29, 2005 Author Posted November 29, 2005 Easier to pull and play with - but not hard to remedy. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted November 29, 2005 Governor Posted November 29, 2005 You should have 6 horses just to be different! Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted May 20, 2007 Author Posted May 20, 2007 I recently updated the background image for my Wells Fargo Stagecoach. I think it came out pretty well. Here's a shot: You can review the set here: MOC Pages: Wells Fargo Stage Coach Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted May 21, 2007 Posted May 21, 2007 Very nice stage coach, TheBrickster! (Please look again at the forum for new WW sets!) Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 21, 2007 Governor Posted May 21, 2007 Your powers of image editing is improving Brickster, however you've missed a few smaller areas around the lattice. Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted May 21, 2007 Author Posted May 21, 2007 Very nice stage coach, TheBrickster!(Please look again at the forum for new WW sets!) Thanks, and sure- but I don't know what I'm looking for. Your comment about the stagecoach? Your powers of image editing is improving Brickster, however you've missed a few smaller areas around the lattice. You're a stickler for detail Phes. Yes. You are correct. I noticed it yesterday but didn't feel like redoing for such two tiny areas. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 21, 2007 Governor Posted May 21, 2007 I've removed the background form many images and accidentally missed many tiny areas. Having said that I went easy on you X-D Quote
Norro Posted May 21, 2007 Posted May 21, 2007 That's a nice background, and a lot of work, I'm still getting a floating sensation but it is still many levels ahead of me 'background image?' X-D God Bless, Nathan Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted May 22, 2007 Author Posted May 22, 2007 That's a nice background, and a lot of work, I'm still getting a floating sensation but it is still many levels ahead of me 'background image?' X-D It's tought to not get that effect using image backgrounds. Maybe it needs some wagon wheel tracks. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 22, 2007 Governor Posted May 22, 2007 And some dust being kicked up behind the wheels... And make it look as though the plant next to the horse (closest to us) is in front of its front-right leg... X-D Quote
