So today I was browsing the Lego aisle in Toysrus for any sets that I might want to pick up. The 5 wide Ferrari transporter gave me an idea. I wanted to build a transporter large enough to house the two F1 cars, so i bought the 5 wide kit in order to have the sticker sheet. Upon returning home I determined this big rig was going to need a width of ten studs. This was going to be the widest vehicle MOC that I attempted. At first I almost decided to abort the project because it was simply going to be way too large. But I stuck with it and as the creation progressed, it started coming to life. My friend was over for the weekend, and he and my girlfriend suggested that I actually finish this MOC all the way to the end. I believe there is not much else to add onto this truck, so without further ado, I present to you a ten wide Ferrari F1 transport!!...

I am really excited about having completed this MOC within a day. There is still much more that can be refined, but for now it'll suffice! If anyone has any ideas on what else should be added let me know!

But the story is not over yet! After completing this MOC, I return to my computer and browse the Lego website. I click on the Ferrari section, and VOILA!... the Lego company has a brand new kit out for release on the market!!!!! It's a ten wide Ferrari transporter!! When i clicked on the link it sent a shock of surprise through my body. It was unbelievable that myself and Lego were on the same page. I can't wait to tell my friend about this finding tomorrow. If anyone has not seen this new kit, here it is...

Wow! This is a very nice transporter, and I'm glad you pressed on and finished it.

And I can't believe Lego released something similar, though I liked the previous transporter...

You did a great job here.

But I would like to suggest two things:

First the gap between the front wheels of the truck and the bumper deserves a brick to fill it.

And secondly I think the truck itself could use bigger tires. That is what you normally see on these rigs. The wheels on the trailer are perfect, don't change them. :sweet:

And thanks for sharing.

Nice transporter!

Thanks for sharing! Immediately, the previous transporter 8654 Ferrari Scuderia Truck came into mind... Serveral similarities! Indeed! I too was shocked when TLG introduced a set almost like your MOC! Seems to me you and TLG are on the same line, so maybe u can send in your MOC and ask them for an application form for Lego Designer? Bet they're sure take u in!

Cheers ~~

Very nice. I'll bet I'll be buying those new set myself and doing like you did.

Great looking rig you built. We both must have had racing on the brain today. :classic:
