Even though I liked the chariot idea (reminds me of ancient Roman and Egyptian chariots) I dont find it appealing as much whatsoever. The figures are ok. I dont like the king being part of this set, no crowny shields, and wooden spears for orcs...My troll's fortress and drawbridge got shipped today, I gladly passes up on this one. Quote

The figs are great- We get the great new king for a relatively cheap price, one of the newer soldier torsos (which I still don't have) and two different troll figs with different helmets and shields! I don't have them either... There aren't any fig clones in the set- the minifigure value in this set to me is great. I can get all the Castle figs I don't have in one $20 box. The chariot isn't that bad- we've had worse. It looks fairly royal in my opinion, and we get two large wheels out of the deal. My only complaint is that we could've used at least two horses. Quote

I bought it, and my review is still inside the academy, but will be out here soon for everyone to read. Yes, there are only 103 pieces for $20, but LEGO has done things like this for many, many years, it isn't a new development. This set is great for people with limited budgets, they can get two different orcs, a completely awesome king, and a crowny. There are a bunch of nice parts in interesting colors like dark blue as well, and a horse, which many people do not have many of. There are lots of plusses to this set, and although there aren't too many pieces, the model itself is still the size expected in a $20 set. Maybe when my review comes along, a few people will be able to better see the positive parts of this set and not just the negative. calebexo01 Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 great review, average set. way too expensive. the toy fair said it would be 10.99$. they were wrong. it needs more horses and some more minifigs to make it worth the price. the chariot itself is good though so if i were to get it i would modify it to hold more horses. i dont have many horses though... and the set is kinda pointless. there are no other vehicles for the knights to attack with so the king would have a hard time fighting the trolls on his own. also im not wiling to pay $20 for a set this small so im not going to get it. I can remember a lego designer explaining why the skeleton horses cannot move their heads, like the horses can. A single horse with moving head is as costly as three skeleton horses (hence the three horses in the skeleton prison set). From a price point of view, this set is amazingly cheap. 4 minifigs for this price is making this set worth its price. So I am still a bit mixed up if I want this set or not, but I just believe the price argument mentioned several times is valid. Minifigs and horses are the most expensive parts and we got 5 of those in this set Quote

Posedes, they might be eye appealing, but what I did to my minifig armies, I took away those wooden spears and gave'em to forestmen minifigures. The royal knights, dragon knights, scorpions, bulls, elves, vikings and even orcs have those lonk pikes ( a bit customized), but they look much better then old, small wooden spears.... Quote

Make it smaller and add a roman legionary or two and we'd be buying these in droves! Maybe lego is starting a new Roman theme and the chariot designs got mixed up somewhere Laurie Quote

That's actually what I was thinking of using them for, they seem perfect for forestmen, so if anyone wants to send them my way feel free. The shields are appreciated but I think one of each color scimitar would have more suited the trolls. Quote
