Big Cam Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 I agree about the repetitiveness of F1/Indy. I personally like drifting better too Drifting is fun for a while but I hate the scene you need to go to to see it. Ricded out Honda's are so 1990 (back when i did it) But it's just plain annoying now. I wish they would ahve drifting events by themselves without a stupid ricer car show with it. As for F1, the loudness sounds like a symphany to me, I love that sound. It gets repetative but so does all racing. Quote

Actually, the drift events At Infineon Raceway (Searpoint) they haven't had a car show for the last 3 yrs. Well, i take that back. They do, but its for the Scions only. With the addition of two Rear wheel drive converted Scion TC's, the Scion scene has blown up at drift events. Honda's have pretty much gone the way of the dinosaur (at least at drift events, or until some dumb megablocks converts his civic to RWD) So there isn't nearly as much "Rice" as say Hot Import Nights, or an Import Drag racing event. (Which are also dieing out) That's what i really like about drifting. The diversity of the cars. You have an AE86 corolla going against a Dodge Viper, or Scion with a V8 going against a Mustang. I love it! As for F1, the loudness sounds like a symphany to me, I love that sound. It gets repetative but so does all racing. I love F1 racing. I could listen to them screaming at 18,000 RPM all day long. But what i think bugged me about the IRL car was where i was sitting. It was the exact same sound again and again. maybe if i were in at a different part of the track were i could hear them downshift and accelerate it would have been different. IN fact, i know i would have enjoyed it more if that were the case. Quote
Commander Assassin Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 (edited) I agree about the repetitiveness of F1/Indy. It may be repetitive at times, but I like just about anything with ferraris. I'd be happy with one of these bad boys: Edited September 2, 2009 by Clone Commander Assassin Quote
5150 Lego Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 How can you not like F1? I mean seriously though; how can you not like anything with Ferraris?I'd be happy with one of these bad boys: He never said he didn't like F1, just agredd that it some cases it can be repeditive. Anyways, what Ferrari is that? A concept? I've never seen it before. Quote
Commander Assassin Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 It is not a concept, it was released in 2006. It is a 612 P4/5. It is based off of the old P4. This may be a bit off topic, but since it is made by the most prestigious car company, I thought you guys should take a look... Paul Blart: eat your heart out! Quote
5150 Lego Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 Interesting. I never heard or seen that (the car) before. I bet that segway cost twice as much as a standard one just cause it carries a ferrari badge. Quote
Commander Assassin Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 The original one is here: You are right about the segway, the price is $10,000 USD! Also, ferrari seems to be starting to make products other than their well known cars. Here is their cell phone. It seems that Ferrari has released several models of cell phones they range from $113- $8,500 USD! Here is their laptop. These range from $1,784- $2,172 USD. I guess some people would buy almost anything with the prancing horse on it, as long as they can say they own a ferrari. Quote
5150 Lego Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 The original one is here: Ya. I knew about the orignal. Just didn't know they made a modern version. Thank you for sharing. They might be sold through Ferrari's web site, but for the most part there just regular cell phones badged with Ferrari Logs and what not. So there not "True" Ferrari's. Nextel offers a line of there cell phones with different auto manufacters badging on them. The nascar ones are the first that come to mind. But ya, i agree. Some people will pay outragous prices just casue it says Ferrari on it. Quote
Commander Assassin Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 (edited) Yah, I do know that Ferrari does not "make" the laptop or cell phone so to speak, but they are official licensed products. (I guess sort of like Ferrari Lego) Do you know if the segway is made by ferrari? I have to say I would love a ferrari cell, but I am not interested in paying that much ($8,500 is a heck of a lot!) for a cell phone that probably wouldn't be better in performance than ones plenty cheaper. Also, has anyone seen these before? The motorcycle might be custom. (can't tell) I am not sure if this is only a licensed product, or an italian made ferrari, but it looks promising. While i can't say for sure, my guess would be no. Ferrari as a whole would not benifit from manufactering the segway bike. More than likely segway makes it, and then uses the prancing horse under license. Just like you said about the cell phones, laptops etc. Quote

5150 Lego Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Both bikes look to be one off customs. If you look closely at the first motorbike, you will notice the farings are simular to that of the Ferrari Testrossa. From what i could find out, it was not built directly by Ferrari, but Ferrari did allow the builder to use the pransing horse on it. http://gessato.com/blog/2009/08/12/ferrari...cle-in-history/ The second bike was a concept designed by an amuter art student. It utilises a Enzo based V4 engine with basicly 8 of the cyl. chopped off. It doesn't run, heck, it doesn't even work. But it does look cool! http://jalopnik.com/5056859/ferrari-motorc...e-ferrari-brand The bicycle is a shwin with a Ferrari emblem licenced (like the phones and laptop) under Ferrari. http://www.ochsnerusa-store.com/products.php?cat=52 Quote
prateek Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 That is a fake/concept/rendering. Ferrari even said that they were never ever going to make a 4 door car or SUV. It looks like a Porsche Cayenne with a 599 front photoshopped on it. Quote

It's all about marketing their brand. People associate quality and high performance with their car brands so it's easy to pawn off these items as unique specials when they are just regular things with a badge on them. Quote

Big Cam Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Indeed. Bentley Laptop: THe laptop costs ?10,000 on its own. I wonder how much the Umbrella in the Rolls Royce Phantom costs alone...Mabye ?2-5,000? Good research. Yup, they know that people with Bentley money have more omney for Bentley computers. I bet the majority of the cost is the Leather? or Suede? I'm not sure what it is but it's expensive. Quote

Big Cam Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 But the one thing they don't do is make a segway. So far, Ferrari is the only car company that I have seen make one. I highly doubt they made the segway since the active working components and gyroshperes are patented by the Segway people. All you are doing is buying a segway with some new plastics and a Ferrari badge for way too much. Quote

Joey Lock Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Quick Question. What Engine sounds the most like the Lambourghini Murcielago? Because I would like to later make a Lambourghini Replica and I wondered which Engine, Once supercharged and tuned up to abour 400-500 BHP, which would be the best and easiest to fool people with? Because I would like to later make a Lambourghini Replica and I wondered which Engine, Once supercharged and tuned up to abour 400-500 BHP, which would be the best and easiest to fool people with? Um, getting the same sound would require a very similar engine. I've been in a Gallardo Superleggera and you can't really fake that sound. Same with the Ferrari F430 Scuderia, it's got a sound all it's own. Riding in that was like a 4 wheeled motorcycle. I'd suggest gettign a clip online, you shouldn't have a problem finding one. Quote
