prateek Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 I meen look at how they are trying to copy Maserati designs: Reminds me alot of the Quattroporte. Woah, I just noticed! Quote
MetroiD Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 Yeah, the BlueSport ought to be great. Who knows, perhaps by then I might even have saved up enough to order one As to Honda, I'm sure they'll come back. The S2000 was great but it was really starting to age, it's time for an update there. Quote
Big Cam Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 The first honda pictureed was a concept and is going no where due to the economy and the second image I am almost certain is a concept rendition of the accord, which of course was toned down quite a bit for production. Quote

CloneCommanderDelta7 Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 Maybe it should be motor talk because some users like them and motocross (like me) talk about it. If there is one could you point me to one. The new Mazda MPS looks cool and has 190 kW, not bad for $40 000 AUD, huh. But I would like a Landcruiser GXL '70s series with bullbar, winch and side guards: That's my dream car. The new Hondas look good, but new City is pretty much just like that, but a coupe. The doors on that prototype are nothing like Honda doors and the design (apart frrom the headlights) ius just not the Honda feel that I'm used to (although the Honda feel that I'm used to is a roaring 4-stroke off-roading motorbike) Quote

prateek Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 (edited) Do you have any solid proof of this? I saw somewhere in a paper or some car news show that said Honda said they would most likely produce this next year. EDIT: Skip to 1:00 Edited September 30, 2009 by prateek Quote
Modulex Guy Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 AHHHHHHH!!!!! I got the yellow slip of doom in the mail! EMISSIONS TEST!!! Why am I yelling because of an emissions test you ask? Well, My car in its current state WILL NOT PASS!! Doh! I have a pile of parts in my garage that used to be the emissions control system in my car (IMO, it was just dead weight), Catalytic converter, Secondary air pump, vacuum hoses, bunch of air valves, EVAP system, and EVAP control module. I gotta think of something fast! Quote

Big Cam Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 I thought Honda's were supposed to be low emission cars? They certainly are when stock, but a lot of kids like to try and tune them with parts that are not DOT(department of transportaion) approved and that will easily fail you an emissions test even if your car is producing less Co2 than a Land Rover. Yeah, You never see a "Pimped" Toyota Prius. But on my road there is a Honda Civic Type-R in red and it has some big exhausts and racing strips, racing seats e.t.c. Why would they tune Hondas rather than a Renualt Clio or Volkswagen Golf... Quote

No, no ricerocket... Das mein Deutsche Auto: I have a bunch of Mods done, APR stage 1+ chip tune, Neuspeed turboback exhaust, custom intake, larger fuel injectors, and a whole bunch of other little things I do not feel like listing. ...And the reason all the emissions junk is removed is that the SAIP burned out and I did not want to pay 700$ for a new one because it is a redundant pump anyways. I think I might borrow an ECU and do a piggyback and run it into the harness with the stock one. ... And No, I am not some punk kid streetracer either, I AutoX my car on closed circuits only. Glad to hear. Your Vdub looks nice, modifying cars is fine if you do it tastefully. Looks like you have. As for the failed part, I know its expensive, but its probably better to fix it in the long run. Apparently its not too redundant if it makes your car fail the test. Good luck with the new ecu, just make sure the inspector is not on to you ;) Quote
prateek Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 In how long is this test? You could just put all the stock parts back, and when you're done, just switch change back, but I'm pretty sure that's illegal. Quote

I would put the stock parts back in, but the reason I removed them in the first place is that the Secondary Air Pump burned out and is no longer functioning... plus its a 700$ part from Audi and I do not want to buy one. If he were to get pulled over and there is evidence of modified emissions on the vehicle, then it can be towed on the spot. Nope. As of july last year it is now mandatory that they run your vehicleon a smog dyno. They want to make sure your car passes while its under a load and not just a simple ECU scan while reving the engine to 2200 RPM. No matter how you cut it, your going to need to put your cr back to stock. You need to pass the visual inspection (no cats, no pass) as ell as the ECU scan and actual test. All the air pumps need to be put back as well as all the vacum hoses. (i once was told by a smog tech that i needed to disconect my Boost gauge casue it tapped into the vacum hoses ). I doubt they'll go this far, but the U.S. is getting stricter and stricter concerning emissions. Quote

I had a APR reflash done on my car over the weekend which cleared the light, but there were still some hidden codes on the ECU I missed. All they did on the test was ask me to pull next to the computer, turn car off and they plugged the car in to the computer and checked the OBDII system, no dyno, no sniffer, no visual inspection. They didnt even notice my car had no cat even though my car was loud with the Diverter valve opening and everything. VROOOOOM...PPppsssshhhhhhh! hehe. I guess now I just need to find a buddy with VAG-Com (Volkswagen-Audi Groupe-Computer System) and just hack the ECU. Edited October 5, 2009 by Polish Guy Quote

5150 Lego Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Tis one reason you'll never see me move to Cali. Nah. Your ride wouldn't have any issues really. Its the Riced out honda's and cars that bring alot of attention to themselfs that the CHP target. My passat was modded alot more than yours and i never had any issues with law enforcment. Would it actually get crushed, or just impounded? Just impounded. Some cited have a policy if the car doesn't have its emission equipment intact or an illeagalengine swap in conjuction with being caught street racing (Sacramento county for example) will crush your car. But they ussualy only do this is you have prior records of street racing and your vehicle is a major moving violation. Quote

If it's just a regular Passat sound, then that's fine, but if it has a nice sound, then maybe they'll suspect something. They might also suspect it to be a sleeper car, which it kinda is. Quote
