Big Cam Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 Im not to sure. Looks like an old TVR... You know that's exactly what I though, it's like a TVR / Ferrari 599B. Either way if it does look anything like this, I'll be impressed. It's a very curvy futristic design for Toyota. Quote

It's a very curvy futristic design for Toyota. I would prefer these from Toyota: It looks like a Ferrari/Audi = AWESOME!!! Sorry for the Double post but Ive been looking at Audis. I saw a White Audi A4 going down my road. It looked really nice. But I prefer the body kit on the Audi TT, But many people say the Audi TT is a girls or "Hairdressers" car, so does this really look Girly to you? How could you "Man" it up a bit? Quote
Big Cam Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 Both of those toyota concepts look great but the second one catched my eye, it just looks so raw. As for the audi tt, I must admit the earlier version when it first came out, did look like a girls car to me. It was so evenly curved on both ends like the new beetle, but the redesigned one which you have posted, takes afer the R8, and definitaly does not look girlie. My heart still goes out to my STI, that I will own one day. Quote

Lets get to know our car habits. I did this with my friend. rriggs Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 I was looking at Classic Cars and I wanted to see how much old Rolls Royces were and I found a Rolls Royce Silver Wraith II for 10,000, It looks amazing for the price, Look at the little Champagne cabinet at the back:What Rolls would be the best to look for cheap? I've spent many hours looking at classic cars - Royces, Jags, etc. The problem is that the purchase price drops and drops as the years go by but the running costs do the opposite! Weird how we both put big Citroens on our lists? Cheers Rog Quote

Its a brilliant car and cheap on Autotrader, You can get a good one from between Edited January 7, 2010 by Joey Lock Quote
5150 Lego Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 (edited) Sorry for the Double post but Ive been looking at Audi's.I saw a White Audi A4 going down my road. It looked really nice. But I prefer the body kit on the Audi TT, But many people say the Audi TT is a girls or "Hairdressers" car, so does this really look Girly to you? How could you "Man" it up a bit? my dad had two TT's. His first was a TT Quattro with the 180hp 1.8T motor. He modded a bit with a Rieger body kit, H&R coilover suspension, Neuspeed intake (i think they went out of business some years ago), Borla exhaust, custom stereo, 18" wheels and tires, custom painted engine covers, polished strut tower brace, Apexi gauges, Brembro brake rotors. He also had the Audi rings in vinyl on the outside of the car. Normally i don't car for vinyl on the outside of cars or trucks, but it looked really nice and tasteful. Definitely not a "girly" car. His second was the 225hp LMAS edition. He took it easy on the mods for this one. This one had 19" rims, custom intake, ARP chip, and Borla exhaust. Very nice car, but it had alot of issues. Traded it in for a Pontiac GTO which he still has. As for what cars I'd have, this is what i came up with... City car: VW GTI Small family car: Scion XB Large family car: Cadillac CTS-V Executive car: Luxury Car: Cadillac CTS-V Sports car: BMW M3 Grand tourer: I honestly don't know. What is the definition of a "Grand Tourer"? Supercar: Corvette ZR1 Convertible: Mustang GT 500 Roadster: Nissan 350Z Minivan: Ford Windstar..... I guess. 4x4: Toyota FJ Cruiser (Oh wait, i have one! ) Pick-Up: Dodge Ram 3500 with a Cumin's Diesel engine If its OK, I'd like to add a couple... Muscle car: Dodge Challenger SRT8 Classic car: 69' Chevy Camaro SS/RS or a 70' Plymouth Cuda AAR Good discussion Joey Lock! Edited January 8, 2010 by 5150 Lego Quote
Sergiu Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 Ok, so here are the cars I'd like to have: City car: Dacia Logan Small family car: Dacia Duster Large family car: -- Executive car: -- Luxury Car: Mercedes Benz G Class Sports car: -- Grand tourer: -- Supercar: -- Convertible: -- Roadster: -- Minivan: -- 4x4: Land Rover Defender 110 SW Pick-Up: Land Rover Defender 130 HCPU There aren't a lot of cars I want, but I prefer simple and reliable cars. Also, i didn't write any supercars or sports cars because they draw too much attention and I don't think that they are really useful in the day to day life. Quote
rriggs Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 4x4: Land Rover Defender 110 SW I learned to drive in a 110 V8. Awesome cars! I had great fun driving it to school when I was 17 while all my friends were in tiny hatchbacks! The petrol would sting me too much now otherwise I'd have one sitting on my drive right now! Big Cam Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 The Subaru STI?: Lets get to know our car habits. I did this with my friend. Ok, What would you get if you had one each of every type of car: So, What would yours be? Im trying to think of mine. Yup, The Subaru STi, that's a very extreme concept version, the regular STi isn't as crazy. Great idea on the list. City car: a moped or motorcycle of course Small family car: Subaru Impreza Large family car: BMW M5 Executive car: Maybach Luxury Car: Mercedes CLS550 Sports car: Ariel Atom Grand tourer: Ferrari California Supercar: Ferrari F430 Scuderia (I've been in one over 100mph, there is nothing like it.) Convertible: Lamborghini Gallardo Roadster: Tesla Roadster Minivan: http://smiliesftw.com/x/hahano.gif' alt='hahano.gif'> I will never own one. 4x4: Audi Q5 Pick-Up: Ford F-150 SVT Raptor Quote
Modulex Guy Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 Minivan: I will never own one. No love for the Minivan? Oh come on, Minivans rock! We have a 2009 Dodge Grand Caravan with the Stow & Go seating and its great for transporting things to and from the LEGO Shows. this was me transporting my display to Brickworld 09' there was still so much more I could have gotten in there if I folded down the middle row. (my Dub is there in the background ) My Mom also has a 2008 Honda Odyssey for work which is the best minivan EVAR!!! Its quite quick for a van... If she does not need it for work anymore, it will be mine and I'll turn it into a track rat like this one: Or I'll just go straight up Bosozoku on it. Quote
Big Cam Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 LOL, don't get me wrong, I understand the practicallity and usefullness of a minivan, but this man, will never own one. I'd rather get an SUV. Quote
rriggs Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 I'm afraid that I have to agree on the minivan front. They are just a great big no-no! I recently laughed at my (younger) brother for about a month after he declared he had to buy a minivan as he was expecting his 4th kid. He had a BMW 535 before and now has a Ford S-Max which is probably about the least minivan-looking minivan. I still take the mickey out of him whenever I can........ It'll never happen to me! Cheers Rog Quote

Its like this one: But Bright yellow with a big spoiler, big rims and a loud exhaust...And a Old man is driving it... Imagine being picked up in that after school... And just a update, With the list, you don't have to list your favourite cars. List the ones that realistically you would get. And please try to fill out all the ones, It would be nice to know what Super car you wanted. Oh and 5150 Lego, Your answers are very American! Quote

I know i have a few american cars/trucks, but i thought my list was spread out. The first Audi TT was designed by the same person who designed the New Beetle. It looks a bit like a squished New Beetle to me. It also used the exact same chassis as the VW Bettle/Jetta/Golf uses. I used to tease my dad that he had a "rich mans beetle" Convertible: Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 Spyder LOL! Now how did i know you were going to pick that? Good choice little buddy! Quote

JayDuck Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 I know you guys don't talk about pickups much (otherwise the title would be more like"truck talk" ), but I'm kind of proud of mine: It's a '93 Dodge Dakota with the 3.9L V6, so it's nothing special, really. What is special, or a least kind of impressive, is that the other day the odometer turned over 225,000 miles (~360,000 km). Now, that might not be a lot of miles for, say, a Toyota Corolla, but for a 17-year-old pickup, that's pretty good. (The picture of the odometer isn't grainy, my dashboard is just really dirty. ) Quote
