This thread shouldn't be this empty! It used to hustle and bustle! Come on guys!

You guys seen the new awesome Aston Martin Cygnet? A Supercar - City car!

Its a squished Aston Martin into a Toyota IQ shape:

aston_martin_cygnet.jpg

Aston-Martin-Cygnet-Concept-Interior-lg.jpg

It's gonna sell for £20,000-£28,000 giving the Luxurious interior and Badge, I'd say thats pretty darn cheap!

Ok, It's a bit girly but I think its good. However it is pratically a iQ, I mean look at the interior diffrences, There are none!

That Aston is cool, but a bit gimmicky. I'd rather buy the Toyota for half the price for the exact same car.

BTW, this thread is slow because 5150 hasn't been here for a long time :cry_sad:

HI guys!

Ya, works been crazy. haven't had much time for anything else. well, work and family that is. :classic:

As for the Austin Mini...

Don't care fr it much. The whle purpose of buying a "mini" car is its afordability factor. While it might be affordable compared to a DB9, most "mini" cars are half that price.

But i may be in the market for a 2nd vehicle soon. I'm thinking i might pick up one of these...

2010%20CAMARO%20DEBUT.jpg 2010' Chevy Camaro SS. 6-speed manual transmission 426hp V8

Or...

2010-Hurst-Silver-and-Black-Series-4-Challenger-Front-Side-View-588x390.jpg

Dodge Challenger SRT8. Also 6-speed maual with 425hp V8. I'm leaning more towards the Challenger mainly because i like the looks a little bit more.

Umm! Your hotlinking! Tut tut tut...

Anyhow, No offense but, your car choices are very "American". I know its going to be a second car but mabye you could choose a fast car but with 4 seats, such as a BMW or Mercedes (Although I don't like either BMWs or Mercedes sports, to many people have them).

But if you really want a Challenger, I'd buy it rather than the Camaro. A Dodge Challenger in Autotrader is £29-35,000. Thats crazy for the amount of cars you can get with it. I'd rather buy a family car, a track day car (If you like that kinda thing) or my favourite car (Chrysler 300c). It's your choice though. It just seems a waste of money for that car because the SRT-8 is gonna cost ALOT of money and especially the fuel. From what I can see its about $40-60,000 and only returns 13-18mpg. Thats worst than the Hummer H3.

Alright guys I need your opinion; I'm in the market for my next car, and I've been looking around recently. I had originally decided on a Nissan 370Z, but have since revised my choice given the limited budget I have (sub $30k USD). I was perhaps thinking about a Hyundai Genesis Coupe. However, my friend is trying to talk me out of it, saying in the long run the maintenance and reliability are going to suck (he also mentioned something about not being able to pick up chicks either with a Hyundai :hmpf_bad: ); he suggested buying a used BMW, but I'm firmly against purchasing any used car. I know Hyundai used to be pretty bad when it came to quality, but haven't they greatly improved over the last few years? Also, with a 10 year/100k mile warranty, I feel the whole maintenance issue is kind of moot since I'll have most things covered for the entire time I keep the car (hopefully after 10 years I'll be rich  ). What do you guys think? Good choice for something under $30k (and no I am not getting a Mustang  ).

Quite honestly Posades, I would skip Hyundai altogether. Hyundais are cheap from the start and but you'll waste more time(and money) on maintenance than anything else. Hyundais are notorious for their poor quality. I mean for the price they're selling at, what can you expect? Also one of the biggest draws for you is the 10 Year/100,000 mile warranty. I heard somewhere that even if you change your oil at some place other than a Hyundai dealer, it voids it. So if I didn't get my point across: Avoid Hyundai at all costs

Camaro

or

Challenger

Get the Camaro. Read any comparison of the two, and anyone will say that the Camaro is better, heck, some people even say that the Mustang is better than the Challenger.

You'd be surprised, but Hyundai's are way better quality than what they used to be. But if you are looking for a >$30K car, I'd suggest a BMW 1 series or a 370Z, although that Hyundai is pretty cool. Or just get a Camaro too

The Genesis is quite a lot of car for the money. Hyundai quality has improved since the days of the Pony and Excel. How long do you plan to keep it? You get the long warranty in the U.S.A.

What kind of chicks are you looking to attract? That may dictate what kind of car you should get. :classic:

Rob Smith is a photographer who bought one and he's quite happy with his. His kids' car seats even fit in the back.

For this go around I want to keep it under $30k, preferably in the $24k - $27k range. I'll pass on the Camaro. For some reason American muscle cars don't interest me at all; feel free to call me a not-real American.

Well the plan was to keep it for the full life of the warranty; I realize the resell values for Hyundai's are horrible, which is one the reasons I want to keep it as long as possible to get my money's worth. I was thinking of keeping it as a second car down the line and making some mods myself on it.

And I was joking about the chicks, if they are that superficial about choosing a man based on his car then we've got problems.

Never. The Challenger is a classic. The Camaro looks way too "Gangsta". The Challenger has kept its nice look. Also it is a epic car to say "I have a Dodge Challenger" rather than, "I have a Chevrolet Cemero? Camaro? Cumaro? I can never say it right".

See, It takes to long. Challenger is better hands down. The Camaro may be slightly better in performance or something but you will never beat a Challenger alure!

Sorry to argue, but Challengers are for old people past their Porsche/mid-life crisis, unless you get it in black.

The Cuh-MARE-oh () has a better coolness factor IMO, and it has a lot better performance, economy, and a better interior than a Challenger.

Exactly! What I've always wanted an American Muscle car!

I know its going to be a second car but maybe you could choose a fast car but with 4 seats, such as a BMW or Mercedes (Although I don't like either BMWs or Mercedes sports, to many people have them).

Why? I'm not in the market for a family car. I'm in the market for a fun and fast "toy". Besides, my FJ Cruiser can fit 4 adults comfortably as well as a car seat if needed for the future.

Again, i don't want a family car. My current vehicle works just fine for that. Either the Challenger, or Camaro could be used as track vehicles if i really wanted to, but thats not really my concern. I just want a comfortable, good looking muscle car to drive on occasion and on the weekends. Oh, and just so you know, the 300C you love so much is basically a Challenger with different body panels. The Challenger uses the same chassis as the Chrysler 300C, Dodge Charger/Magnum.

It's your choice though. It just seems a waste of money for that car because the SRT-8 is gonna cost ALOT of money and especially the fuel. From what I can see its about $40-60,000 and only returns 13-18mpg. Thats worst than the Hummer H3.

When you send that kind of money, (especially a high performance vehicle) the last thing you are worried about (or should be) is gas mileage. As far as price, my company works with a local dodge dealer and i can get the SRT8 for near the same price an the SS Camaro. SO in this case, price won't be the deciding factor.

Get the Camaro. Read any comparison of the two, and anyone will say that the Camaro is better, heck, some people even say that the Mustang is better than the Challenger.

Yes, performance wise the Camaro wins hands down, but i love the looks of the challenger. Plus it felt so right when i sat in one. More so than the Camaro!

Exactly! Now your getting it my friend! This is part of the whole "American muscle car" experience! The epicness!!

But i must argue, the camaro has a just as much "epicness" as the Challenger, if not more so. Its been around longer, and has much more history than the Challenger. Looks are subjective.

Subaru Impreza WRX. They have really been improved for 2010, as fast as previous STi models. I'd tell you to get the STi but, that will push you over 30k for sure.

You know actually thought about this one and the Lancer Evo, but for some reason they're not catching my eye; I'm not much of a hatchback guy either.

I hear you, the WRX/STi is on my list of cars to get next, but alot of people don't like the styling, and I understadn that, I didn't like it at first, but it grew on me bigtime.

I think the genesis is a good choice, I'd definetaly drive one before you decide, adn get the V6 for sure!

I don't understand how people dislike the look of the Impreza. It's not like the design is outrageous or anything, it just looks like a regular Japanese car. I also don't under how people think the new Mazda3 looks good

Without sounding un-original, I agree with you 101%

The new bigass smilie face thing is hideous, where the STi has that sexy hood scoop, that could suck up small children.

Well umm, I was kind of thinking getting the turbo charged 2.0 one. My thinking was in the long run I would save a bunch of money on gas (higher mpg and V6 requires premium gas no?). I could go V6, but that also increases the upfront cost.

Maybe because it is smiling as you...with an ugly smile. Kinda like the new Acura TL. That used to be a beautiful car before the current generation redesign. Both of them looks bad in my rear view mirror. Best to keep on driving and not look back too much. :classic:

The V6 is also heavier than the turbo four model. Best to test drive both of them and see which one feels better to you.

It might, I can't find it on hyundai's website. I guess if that is a bother to you, then the I4 is the way to go, I'm just the kind of guy who would hate myself if I didn't get the best version available.
