I just completed a roughly 25,000 mile journey around North America in my 2000 Toyota 4Runner. I love this vehicle, and having the rare manual transmission version makes it a bit funner.

Great trip and great photos. Thanks for sharing. Very jealous!!

Cheers

I'm looking at the images in this thread and there's some gorgeous looking vehicles that are lovingly maintained and cherished.

But back in the real world ( ) here's what less than twenty thousand miles of Missouri dirt roads have done to my Truck.

(Unsafe at any speed)

So, four new tires at a cost of $820 now makes my Truck with a full tank of gas worth about $880.

Made some custom badges for Decepticon galaxy yesterday

They still look a bit dodgy up close and I need to make some more refined ones, but this for sure is going to make people look twice. I wanted to create something that looked like a decepticon logo, but wasn't as complicated as it.

Looking through a few of these pages I'm amazed at the realism of your builds.

Basically screwed myself with the focus lease, I have an awesome deal to get an orange 2015 Mustang new at a good price and I really want to take it, but then i'll be stuck with this focus for another year and have two vehicles.. I guess I'll have it as a winter car for another winter, but the insurance on that thing just sitting there will kill me.

Do you have something like Lease Busters in the U.S.A.? I don't know if it is worthwhile to find someone to take over your lease with 1 year left. Maybe insure it as a seasonal car. I guess more cars and less LEGO for the upcoming year. :classic:

Sometime in the next two weeks. I'll be out to the garage with a new battery in hand to awake the beast. Pretty much since her 20th birthday in Novembuary 'lil Amy, easily the slowest and the most loved of the fleet has been waiting for fairer weather.

Plans for this year include re-installing the original hood with longer hood louvers. We'll have to cut into the original hood that doesn't have any louvers. If time permits new fenders (they're in the garage/basement) just need painted.

^Pontiac Grand Prix? Summer car?

If you've ever owned one of these, they are pretty much incapable of being anything but . . . . a summer car.

The doors freeze both open and shut, the thing sits too low (currently more than a 1/2" lower than in the pic above and tends to plow through snow. WIthout snows on the back ends have no weight and tend to fly out on ice. And the door handles (which look extremely cool snap like twigs in the cold).

Back in 2012 or 2013 one of my best friends did a photoshoot with (for) me for my birthday of my favourite two cars. He does wedding photography, I picked the locations (apparently wedding photographers are not car photographers) and we both snapped photos (except while on the one-lane bridge in front of the falls because I'm not a jerk, and stayed in the car to move it if other traffic came).

I've since changed the rear two wheels from 225/55R17's to 245/40R18 and the fronts from 225/55R17 to 245/45R17.

Most of the rest of the pics are here:

1995 Grand Prix SE and it's been my summer car since 2006. IIRC there's about 311,000km on the body and about half that on the powertrain which is out of a 1996 . . . . as is the computer.

My dream ride. If I ever got a DeLorean, my morals would force me to Back To The Futurise it.

Is it just me or does everyone just see a bunch of letters in Dalton's post?

Then if you quote it there's a pic??

Anyhow, got 'lil Amy out for a spin around the block on the weekend fired right up. Need to replace one of the HID's or a balast, not sure which probably both forgot about that from last fall. Will have insured & on the road once I get the winter car a nice car wash and oil change.

It looks like how one would attach a picture to Usenet groups after UUencoding it.

Snow tires are off the car. No more driving on squishy marshmellows. Bad news, I need new brake drums and struts.

Fast fact . . . . . in 15 years (all of the years that I've owned cars) I've never had a car with rear drums. That used to be a fact about lit vanity mirrors for some reason too, I'd get a car with all sorts of crazy options . . . just not lit vanity mirrors.

Random facts about my car history (all 12 years of it):

My first car was my fastest and most powerful: 1994 Chevy Caprice Police Package (Corvette LT1 engine swapped) and yes it had the Police push bar still

I’ve owned a Front wheel drive (98 Eagle Talon), Rear wheel drive (94 Caprice) and All wheel drive vehicle (2004 Subaru STi )

I’ve been airborne in my car (hit railroad tracks WAY to fast, in a village I’d never been to before (the caprice)

I’ve driven on Michigan International Speedway with my own car. STi

The STi has $400 headlights $800 for the pair… (Auto adjusting, with remote override)
