MrTools Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 Realy makes you think what will happen to Star wars sets in a few years when the licence expires, if anything it will make this topic look like resonable prices for retired sets Quote
JCC1004 Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 (edited) For 1 or 2 days the prices went down then want back up. I doubt Batman will return next year with all the new themes. I just realized 1 more post and I'm a knight. Wow, I've come so far. Edited August 14, 2009 by JCC1004 Quote
Norro Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Arkham is surprising when you consider all the unwanted copies on sale a few years ago. I used to wade through them at TRUS and even at 30% off couldn't justify the bley... God Bless, Nathan Quote
Inconspicuous Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 Wow! I had no idea that prices had skyrocketed so much! I wasn't into the theme very much, so I only picked up an Arkham Asylum, but man, I wish I had at least got the Mr. Freeze Buggy set! I'll keep my eyes open for any left on shelves. (though there will probably be none ) Quote
JCC1004 Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 Those sellers are insane. SW prices will be even sicker. Why do they think they're worth so much? Quote
Nuju Metru Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 Sigh... Now there's pretty much no hope I'll ever get a LEGO version of the Tumbler. -Nuju Metru Quote
Batbrick Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 Sigh... Now there's pretty much no hope I'll ever get a LEGO version of the Tumbler. Honestly the Lego Tumbler was pretty underwhelming in terms of size, in that it was way too big. Which would at the same time make it overwhelming I guess. If you want to make a neat, proper sized tumbler, go to the search feature and type in the word "tumbler". To the Brickmobile! Quote
VBBN Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 Batman was cancelled because it wasn't selling well at the time. I got dozens of Batman sets at 50% or more off. Prices are going up because collectors are either desperate or not so bright and sellers are getting greedy. Of course I think anybody looking to spend more than a few dollars per figure is a little off kilter. What makes it worse is that most of the sellers got those sets for $35 or less and are looking to make some good money off all the late comers. And it was Lego's fault for not making sets to please the fans. For instance, if the Bat-tank with the riddler hideout had been like the preliminary images, I would have bought it. But they skimped out and gave us a poor excuse for a "hideout", meerly a plastic gate and spotlight. $50 savings right there. I'm not saying the sets were bad, I had grabbed a couple of them, Mainly the Harley Quinn Hammer Truck and the Two Face Escape, and the Batcave to name a few. ;] Quote
