"Well, it seems I looked in the right place for survivors!" said Zach happily to Jack, who smiled and nodded.

"But...can we trust them?"

"coughshowoffcough" Mark remarked.

"Shut up."

"ANYWAYS, Show us the way Tom! Or do you like Thomas better? "

Tom, or maybe it was Thomas, joined the conversation.

"You can call me Tommy for all I care as long as it has Tom in it. Did you know my nickname is Tom-Tom-Tom? Or as I prefer it, TriplTom"

"Tommy it is then, ya *Insert word here which means funnily showing off*!"

"Well?" Bob asked. "Are we going to walk there?"

"It looks like it." Zach groaned.

"Perhaps we could find a vehicle back in the city?" Adam asked.

"There may be one in the outskirts, we should keep walking." Tom said.

The group continued on through, despite them not knowing that City 17 held a dark secret.

"There's one of our supply bases not far from our current location." muttered Garviel "If City 17 is as bad as we think it is we'll need all the help we can get."

The group entered the base, after being decontaminated and being scanned for infiltrators. By the time that was finished the sun was beginning to set.

"We'll stay here for the night" said Zach "When the sun rises we're heading off."

Garviel woke up after a particularly bad nightmare. He got up and checked the time, 4:25. He'd be up again in an hour or so, so going back to sleep (or try to anyway) would be a waster of time. He grabbed his battered jacket and had a walk around the base.

He saw the half cyborg Jack staring at the ruins of city 17 in the distance.

"Can't sleep either?" muttered Loken

"Nah" replied jack. The motors in his face buzzing as he said it "City 17 has some bad memories for me. My family were killed in the first blast"

"Sorry to hear that" sighed Garviel

"Thanks" replied jack "How about you? Where were you when the Nukes went off."

"I was off world when it all kicked off"

Zach wondered the outskirts of the base staring into the darkness. He could see the outlines of the skyscrapers in City 17, which were torn apart. He felt dizzy, and sat down. Images flashed through his mind. One of him unconcious and being dragged into a room, past bodies of his soldiers. Then he remembered the cold feeling of the hand on his shoulder, pulling him. Suddenly the images stopped. He was breathing heavily. He checked the area. Jack was talking to the newcomer Garviel. Zach smiled. He lay down and looked up at the stars, and thought.

Adam noticed Zach sitting on the stairs. He looked exhausted. With a raised eyebrow, Adam sat next to him. After a few minutes, he felt that he should make some form of conversation.

"I won't be requesting payment for this... operation," Adam informed him.

Zach sighed. "Good," he replied.

For you see, Adam and Zach went back a bit further than they had let on. In fact, they had been dealing together for quite some time: Zach paying Adam to perform certain tasks with the special power he held. Being a "reformed" mob member, Adam made many deals with robots, mutants, and aliens alike. After the war, he had went... out of business, but happy for a chance to work against those that had killed his partner in a more direct way.

"What's in your briefcase, Adam?" It was Zach that interrupted Adam's thoughts this time.

Adam looked at it. It was resting on his lap. "Well, have a look."

After putting in a lock combination, it popped open. In it were an outfit, his gun, and a few wads of cash. Zach didn't, however, notice the secret compartment at the back of the case.

It was then that Bob approached them.

"I think I recognize you from somewhere," he told Adam, squinting in concentration. "Didn't you rob me a few years back?"

Adam wasn't sure how to respond. "Well, did I do a good job of it?" he asked, and before Bob could answer, he hustled off to change into his other outfit.

I'm baaa-aaaaaack! I was away on personal matters, my apologies. I will post an image of the new me in my next post. Jammie, if you don't have him, just use the old one.

"Well, I guess nobody can sleep around here." said Zach to Bob

"Yeh. It just seems to quiet to what it...used to be."

"Hmm. Bob, what was that thing you are taking us here for? It is making me a little-"

"Suspicious?"

"Well...yes."

"It is a good thing, which will help us a great deal. I promise."

"Okay. Thanks Bob."

Jack and Garviel wondered over. And they all sat.

"City 17 is where the third and final component is." Bob explained.

"And you're still not telling us what it is?" Zach asked.

"You'll see, anyway, once we get the third item is, it will act as a map to take us to a location, where we will use the three to aid us."

"Tell us dammit! What is it!?" Adam asked.

He ran up to Bob and threatened to hit him.

"Alright, alright fine!" Bob said.

The group leaned in closer.

"About five years ago, my company took control of a powerful failsafe incase the robots ever took control. It was a switch, one that could turn off every single robot in the world." he started to explain.

"How come none of us have ever heard of it?" Jack asked.

"It was very top secret. Only a few knew of it. Myself, and some government members." Bob said.

"Well, what are we waiting for? We should start to move out!" Zach said.

"Told you it would turn the tide of the war." Bob gloated.

Um about your invention... The sound of C.C's voice startled Bob.

What are you doing here? Bob asked in an angry voice

Um I was woken up by your conversation and thought I'd add something to it. Replied C.C. I am a light sleeper.

Well what were you going to say? Asked Zack

About your invention I had heard about it around the time I invented my mechanical inventions such as my Computerbug, Tool arms, my hands, service drones and scrappers and I made most of them invincible to it.

Most of them? Asked both Bob and Zack at the same time.

Well all of them but the service drones. But none of the other things can hurt us that I named can hurt us except for the scrappers of course. Said C.C

Well that sucks! said Bob wishing C.C hadn't revealed this horrible news.

Well sorry I just didn't want it to be a surprise later I'll go back to bed. Said C.C

Wait! Said Bob. What are these "Scrappers weaknesses?

Suddenly the whole area was filled with bright light. They sheilded their eyes, and got out their weapons.

"Another alien craft?" said CC

"I dunno! Can't see anything! It is way too bright!" cried Garviel

"Wait! Its getting darker!"

The light faded and a craft flew up into the sky in an instant. Jack managed to record the whole thing with his inbuilt camera lense. The team ran down to where the craft had hovered and there was something in a crater. As they got closer, they realized it was a mutilated corpse.

"Wel that wasn't there before." remarked Jack

Bob turned and puked.

Bob turned and looked at C.C.

"You might have made it invincible to what you think this switch is, but it manually overrides the circuts of the robots that don't have the special government chip in them." Bob explained.

"But, it can't be, I made it invincible!" C.C. said.

"All robots will be offline unless you reboot it." Bob replied.

"Couldn't someone reboot them all?" Zach asked who started to overhear.

"Then we'd just have to switch them off again." Bob said.

"The aliens might turn them on to combat us." Adam said.

"Not if we break every robot we see." Bob said.

"I'm sorry but aren't you missing something?" said Jack pointing at the corpse

"Urm...the aliens took her and killed her. Simple."

"No! Look at her body. Its..."

"Mutated?" suggested Adam

"Do you thing the aliens are taking survivors and changing them into the monsters that feast on human flesh?"

There was a short silence and then Robert piped up and said,

"Maybe they do it so we cannot rebel when they take over? They seem rather brainless and unco-ordinated."

"It is a high possibility." said Zach, kneeling by the body.

"We'll send her to a decon lab" said Garviel "We have good facilities to determine what's going on"

"Ok Garviel" muttered Jack. Garviel pressed several buttons on his wrist mounted communicator and it beeped back at him. "Crew will be here in 10 mins or so"

The rest of the group continue forward towards city 17.

"Alrighty guys, get ready for a fight. This place is heavily fortified and overrun by mutants and ewoks robots." said Bob

"Adam. Are you just going to use that pistol?"

"Yep."

"John. Check the horizon for any activity!" ordered Zach, seeing several dust clouds.

John nodded and looked through the scope.

"You know you could have got me to just zoom in on them?" said Jack laughing

"Six rovers, five laser canons per vehicle. They must have spotted us."

"How large?"

"Six metres atleast."

"Shit! We got incoming!"

They looked left and right, and saw several squads of robots heading toward them. Some were over four metres tall.

"You said we were in for a fight, but not against an army!" cried Garviel

"What did you expect? This city is their downfall if anyone gets in."

Suddenly an enormous fleet of black aircraft unlike anything else ever seen from vehicles ranging from ones with propellers to steam powered ones came in with huge rapid fire guns on each one.

I have zoomed in on the figures in the vehicles they are human well mostly it seems that there biosignature is more advanced than that of a human. Said Jack

They seem to be hooded and have some very strange facial features.

The rouge's. said Zach with a hopeful look in his eyes.

Posted

The ships seemed to remain still in midair. The group stared at them expectantly. Then -

"Woah!"

"Oh my God!"

"DUCK!"

Each aircraft blasted off in different directions, one heading right toward them. The team dove as the black ship barely missed their heads.

"What was all tha-"

Flames erupted from the engines, drowning out all sound. The handle to an airlock door began spinning, and in seconds it burst open.

What they saw were definately not Rogues. They weren't even human.

The robots that emerged from the ship were unlike any they had ever seen.

They were completely skeletal, with lifeless yellow eyes and and sharp claws. What was most disturbing was human brain that emerged from its head - and upon closer inspection, the frail heart encased in the stomach.

"This can't be good."

Posted

"These must be the second generation of robots." said Zach

"You will be processed. Come with us or be taken by force." said the robot

"No thanks." said Jack, transforming his arm into his blaster. He aimed for the heart and fired. The robot exploded.

"Continue action 1138."

The robots took out some very large weapons and a fight ensued.

Posted

Bob ducked down behind some debris, blind shooting at the same area that Jack did. He managed to shoot one robot, damaging it, but not destroying it completely. The rest of the team destroyed the other remaining robots with ease.

"Well, that was fun." Jack said.

Bob knelt down to inspect the robot that he had not destroyed, looking at the brain, and then at the heart. Bob then looked up in terror, figuring it out.

"What is it Bob?" Adam asked.

"These things...they're trying to replace us..." Bob trailed off.

"Why would they want to replace us?" Zach asked.

"They think robots are more efficient than humans, they capture large groups of them, kill them, and take their organs for themselves. You're looking at the newest advancement in robot technology." Bob explained.

"Can you repair this one, the one that isn't broken entirely?" Zach asked C.C.

"I might be able to, give me some time." C.C. said.

"Should we still even head to City 17? These may not deactivate like the rest." Garviel.

"No, these still should deactivate. They are still robots either way." Bob said. "Let's continue on."

Posted

"Goddamn machines" mumbled Jack. "It's bad enough they want to kill us, but now they want to replace us by taking our organs? That's just plain crazy."

CC was still tinkering with the robot. "Almost done" he said. "Make sure to disarm him before you reactivate him" remarked Zach. CC replied: "Already ahead of you" and screwed off the robots claws. "Done!" CC flipped a switch and with an electronic sound, the robot came back to life. It took the machine to realize where it was, and as soon as it did, it got startled. "Infidels!" it exclaimed and tried to attack them, but it was then that it realized it was unarmed. "Nice try," said Jack, "but I think the "infidels" win this round." He picked up the robot with his mechanical arm at what could be considered its neck and started yelling at it: "Speak! Why do you rob innocent humans off their lives and organs!" The robot began to talk, with its electronic, yet somewhat human voice: "We, the Cyberions, are the most advanced beings in this world. By combining the strength of machines and the intelligence and reproducibility of humans, we have turned ourselves into the perfect lifeforms!" "YOU ARE NO LIFEFORM!" Jack shouted at the cyberion. "You are and always will be a damn machine! You make me sick you dirty little wanna-be cyborg motherf-" "I can take it from here" interrupted him Zach. He turned to the cyberion and demanded: "Tell us where your pals are or we will take you apart piece by piece!" "Never! I rather die!" said the cyberion, and with its clawless arm, it ripped out one of its cords that connect some vital organs in its body and lay lifeless in Jack hand a moment later. "Well, that got us nowhere" said Adam disappointed. "Yeah," said Zach, "but we have to concentrate on getting Bob's device together anyway. So, let's get movin'." They entered the ruins of City 17.

Wait! Screamed C.C his voice coming from the inside of the ship.

What? I want to leave! said Jack annoyed.

Look at this! said C.C walking out of the ship holding a black cloak.

Zack's face went blank and completely drained all of its color. The rouges are dead?

C.C replied It appears that these types of rouges were from the raven clan.

The rouges are dead?!?! Screamed Zack

C.C pressed a button on his goggles causing them to spring out like a telescope. and stuck his tongue out in concentration.

Acording to the computerbugs bioscan tracer the raven clan are not yet dead in fact they are moving towards...

Towards where towards where? said Zack nervously.

C.C went pale and quietly said.

The S.C.R.A factory.

Cant we do something?!?! Screamed Zack in such a worried voice that it was almost to strange sounding to understand. Cant you fix this fighter and fly us over there?

Easier said than done! Said C.C the rouges are no fools they have covered this craft with a thermomecular lock that cannot be penetrated by the computerbugs reading device I would have to somehow hotwire it from the inside but I could not do it by my self tghis is a large ship and everybody would have to do there job correctly time is running out and there are no second chances.

I will be willing to climb inside the vehicle and find the stuff you need if it would help. Said Marcus

And I could try to figure out some of the weapon functions. said jack.

and I will be leading everyone. Said Zack

Okay lets just get to work already! Said C.C

The group suddenly heard a moan from behind them. They turned to find one of the new robots panting as heavily as it could.

Weapons raised, they approached it and prepared for assault. However, they found the cyborg unarmed and frail.

"Why must it have ended like this..." it said, in a sorrowful whisper. The group exchanged surprised glances.

It spoke again. "I never wanted this to happen... I never wanted it to happen to her..." These cyborgs seemed to have emotions.

"When she was gone, I thought my life was over... It instead became much, much worse..." Questions began bursting from the survivors.

"What are you talking about?" - "Who is 'her?'" - "Why did you become a robot? Who did this to you?" - "Were you a human before?"

The cyborg seemed to register their curiosity only slightly. It did, however, begin answering some of their queries.

"I was a normal human being like all others... I treasured my beloved far more than anything else... Then the war came... I lost her..."

He moaned and continued. "I was so full of sadness... but then they came to me... offered me a chance... I became hideous... I... I..."

But then the robot's head fell to the ground, and the party's questions died mid-sentence. Were there others like him? Who were "they?"

Umm, who the heck are the "Rogues?" computerbug keeps on mentioning them and I feel out of the loop. Can someone help me?

The super robots, I think.

"We're almost at the headquarters." Bob said about an hour after walking.

"Almost? I seems like we've been walking for an hour!" Zach said.

"Don't worry, we will get there, you'll see."

"Do we have all the parts ready?" C.C. asked.

"Yeah, I've been holding them in my case." Adam replied.

At that moment, Bob's dog barked, and ran off into a nearby building. The rest of the team followed the dog inside...

"Hey come back you mutt!" shouted Jack, but the dog stood at the door barking profusely.

"That is not right." said Bob while he ran "Something ain't right!"

They entered the room. It was dark and cold. Zach stopped and his flashback continued. He recognised this place.

"What is this symbol?" asked CC pointing at the wall.

"If I rememer ightly it was a company back in the old days. They made robotic things."

"This is the place." said Bob "The elevator will be here somewhere..."

"So we are here?" asked John

A second gen. robot entered the room and saw Zach.

"Project 1 located. Lock up protocol initiated."

"Wha-?" gasped Jack, but John pulled out his blasters and shot it to pieces.

"NO! YOU FOOL!" cried Zach, grasping John by the neck "They could have told me!"

"Told you what?! You need to turn into a bot?" gurgled John

"No! What happened to me!"

"Okay, Zach let him go." said Adam

Zach breathed deeply and let him down.

"I had a patch of my life erased, and I know nothing about what happened to me, but it had something to do with this place."

"Well, maybe when we get inside we can find out?" suggested Jack

"Yes...okay. But will this device destroy the secod gen of robots too?" asked Zach

"If not, this may be a bigger fight than we thought. Lock and load boys, lock and load." said Bob, and they entered the elevator.

"Remember," Adam pointed out, "these new robots have a fatal flaw: although the human organs seem to make them stronger and more determined, they also bring about emotions."

Zach thought for a moment. "You could be right," he decided. He was obviously still rattled about his amnesia and the encounter with the second generation robot.

"So Bob, this thing is how high up again?" John asked, somewhat sarcastically.

Bob took no notice of his skepticism. "Floor three hundred. We should almo-" He paused.

"What is it?" the rest of the group asked.

"Look at the walls." None of them has paid attention to the elevator; they had been too busy talking about the second generation robots and Bob's device.

Blood soaked the walls, along with other bits of flesh that they didn't want to think about. A steady drip... drip... echoed in the silence. They looked up.

Two days after the war...

"What is it? You look so sad."

Peter looked up. A gray haired woman of about sixty was gazing down at him.

Tears in his eyes, he looked purposefully down again. So did the woman, and she understood.

"I'm sorry. She was very beautiful."

Peter nodded. He could barely think. For two whole days he had stayed there, holding Susan in his arms.

"Your life isn't over, you know." The woman said it gently, and Peter looked up again.

"What do you mean?" Truth be told, he was a little angry at the woman. His life wasn't over? Susan was dead!

However, she seemed to know what was going through his head. "We can make it all go away. The pain... the suffering... you will be a new man, Peter."

The rain pummeled downward. Peter still wasn't sure he understood. "What do you mean?" he asked again.

She smiled. "We can help you. We can help you make the pain go away."

"How?" Peter cried. "This pain will NEVER go away. I will NEVER forget, because if I forget this pain, I will forget her."

The old woman shook her head. "No. You do not understand. You may think you will never be whole again, but that is not true."

"No, it is you who does not understand. You are wrong!"

"What is it?! You know I'm busy, you dolt!" The alien squad commander was fuming at his deputy, high above Zach and the others.

The deputy gulped. He knew he was about to die for saying this. "They, umm, they got away, sir." The commander's fist smacked the table.

"WHAT?! We spent all that time helping them build those second generation robots, built those ships perfectly and they got AWAY?!"

"It seemed, well, ummm, that the vital organs were too... exposed. I told you not to rush the build, sir," the deputy added, surprised at his courage.

If they commander became any angrier his head would explode. "You told me WHAT?! We did NOT rush the process! We built them to schedule!"

The deputy was hauled away by two buff guards. He gulped again. No one could imagine what was about to happen to him.

Bob closed his eyes, until the ding of the elevator told him that they were on the top floor, three hundred.

"Right then, ready to finish this?" Bob asked.

"As ready as I'll ever be." Zach said.

The doors opened, the team stepped out. The entire floor was one room, and in the middle was a giant sensor computer console. Over the console, there was no roof, and a large antennae stuck out from it. From what Bob could see, no one else was in the room. There was another elevator on the other side however. Adam handed the parts to Bob, and on a little table five feet from the elevator was the third and final piece. It was in a reinforced glass safe, John suggested that they just smash it, but C.C. said it would take awhile to break that glass. Fortunately, Bob keyed in the code that he had memorized from before, and took out the piece. He put the parts together, forming somewhat of a lever. He walked over to the console, and he stuck the makeshift lever inside the hole.

"Ready?" Bob asked.

The rest of the group nodded, eager to see what would happen.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you." a voice said from the other side of the room.
