Oh Willy it was a glorious sight to behold! I have vivid memories of seeing shelves filled with the stuff, perhaps the most I ever saw was at the LEGO store at the end of the 1993 Pirates Ahoy Exbihition. But sadly these memories will never be relived again :'(

I got a few old sets at a store in Canada which used to deal in inventory other stores couldn't sell. Way back in 2000ish I walked into a small store that had the whole spanish pirate line... I bought the IP and RBR and regretted ever since not buying the lot...my money was exhausted on the Royal knight stuff ; )

That'll teach you to buy Royal Knight stuff :oD

How much did the Red Beard Runner and Imperial Trading Post cost at this Canadian store?

Ip actually was me trying to say the Armarda flagship (don't ask), it was $40 something cnd and the RBR (that's the green hull right?) was something like $27cnd...

God Bless,

Nathan

Sorry to dig up an old thread but I picked up a dusty copy of

Forbidden Island and

Buried Treasure.

They were in an toy store that obviously doesn't replace stock as I also picked up a few old Harry Potter and small Knights Kingdom 1 sets. The pirate sets were about 30% above what the list price should have been but it was worth it considering they've been sitting on the shelf for almost 15 years

I'm very laxed about bringing up old threads because crucial information can be added that wasn't provided on the threads initial run. However, if the thread was a news thread about upcoming sets which were released 2 years ago then it would be annoying! The sets have obviously been and gone, so why someone would felt the need to add more to such a thread would be held with scepticism. If they felt the need to discuss the sets further then they'd be better of creating an entirely new thread to do so.

Anyway... Back to your post Mr Slobey... How many copies of these sets were there and how many did you acquire?

G and you removed it (and deleted your post where you said you wanted it in the pirate and Castle forum !!) >:-( I love that amount of bad faith and sneaking around !! Way to show your attachment to the Community *y*

No further comments :-|

Errr... I wasn't the one who moved this thread in the first place, its a discussion thread, not a trading thread and that's why I created it and kept it in that particular forum. I was a bit puzzled as to why a thread I created was moved in the first place as I'm obviously aware of its existence.

Since I was moving this thread that post was obsolete so that's why I removed it. I was going to let you know you know but I hadn't got around to it due to the million other things I've got to do. My attachment to the Community is expressed by the amount of work I've done in Pirate related and history theme threads and the establishment of this new forum and Pirate Ranking System which I'm certain is by no means lacking...

Anyhow, I really wanna know if anyone seen good old SYSTEM Pirate LEGO sets in stores lately, rather than debating the ethics of moving this thread about...

What, real lego in real stores?!

'Tis folklore to be sure... all the treasures of Eldorado couldn't compare to the very idea!

Even in little ol' South Africa the merchandise and marketing is about 6 months behind the world but real lego was what... a decade ago?

Actually no... JT and the Adventurers still counts as real lego but other than that the last few years of lego have been very pants in comparison to the 90's.
