hollisbrick Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 (edited) Well I have been working on my fitness lately, today I ran 4km (4 000m) at once. So I was just wondering what is the furtherest you've ran without stopping? Edited May 31, 2009 by hollisbrick Quote

Legoman Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 Well I have been working on my fitness lately, today I ran 4km (4 000m) at once. So I was just wondering what is the furtherest you've ran without stoping? Nice! 3km. But I'm also starting to work on fitness. I went from being able to do 0 push ups to 20 in just a couple of months! Ask me again in a few months Quote
Captain Green Hair Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 I see stopping is allowed, but stoping is not? Quote
Shadows Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 I don't run. I see stopping is allowed, but stoping is not? I'm wondering if we're allowed to stoop while ranning running. I Ran (So Far Away) ~ A Flock of Seagulls I walked along the avenue. I never thought I'd meet a girl like you; Meet a girl like you. With auburn hair and tawny eyes; The kind of eyes that hypnotize me through; Hypnotize me through. And I ran, I ran so far away. I just ran, I ran all night and day. I couldn't get away. A cloud appears above your head; A beam of light comes shining down on you, Shining down on you. The cloud is moving nearer still. Aurora Borealis comes in view; Aurora comes in view. And I ran, I ran so far away. I just ran, I ran all night and day. I couldn't get away. Reached out a hand to touch your face; You're slowly disappearing from my view; Disappearing from my view. Reached out a hand to try again; I'm floating in a beam of light with you; A beam of light with you. And I ran, I ran so far away. I just ran, I ran all night and day. I couldn't get away. Quote
Captain Green Hair Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 Good song choice, i like that one! I think stooping is enavidable after a while, but some stretching might prevent this. Running fools on!! Quote
Izzy Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 I have run without completely stoping stopping but with a hell-o-lot of stooping for a cross country that was 5km. I thought I was going to die. Seriously! Needless to say. I don't run any further than Cutlass_Amelie is ahead of me now. Quote
Saint Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 I drive a car, so no need for running. I work at a gassation, so I get plenty of movement ... towards the coffemachine, outside for a smoke.. back to the counter... Quote
Oswald the Rabbit Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 Being in the US Army I have run quite a lot in the past, but due to current knee and ankle problems I am strictly a walker now. Quote

I have never been a runner. I have friends that have ran marathons and they tell me that running gives them a really great high. I have done some minimal running and incorporated it in with my walking but its been a long time since I've done that. The Athenian soldier who ran the first supposed Marathon died upon arrival. I can take a hint. Quote
CopMike Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 Ran the Stockholm Marathonyesterday, had to stop and drink some, and in the end walk a bit becuase of cramp . Otherwise a marathon would be my longest without stopping, just slowing down to drink. Not that fast of a runner though, Morten should be the Eurobricks Marathon Champion ! CopMike Quote

Ask me again in a few months A couple of months? do you mean weeks or days? I see stopping is allowed, but stoping is not? Sorry, my "P" doesn't quite work. Could you please fix it? I can take a hint. It does, it also gives you a sense of accomplishment. I only got time to jog on Sunday's so I do it once every week (I still do other physical activities like rugby and b-ball) Edited May 31, 2009 by hollisbrick Quote
rriggs Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 I used to be a sprinter when I was younger until I buggered my left knee up (I started running but my knee didn't ). I can only do about a mile or so now before it really hurts. I concentrate more on other exercise now - mostly cycling with some step, press ups (at least 50 a day) and a manual physical day job thrown into the mix. Oh yeah, and of course I exercise my fingers an awful lot putting small pieces of plastic together to make shapes and models...... Cheers Rog Quote
Etzel Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 I use to run about 10 km now and then (haven't been so strict on it) but the longest would be 14 km cross-country running 6 years ago. I might have ran further in some orienteering competitions but it's hard to know exactly how far then Ran the Stockholm Marathonyesterday, Wow, well done CopMike! I'm not that well trained so I could ran a marathon right now but I've been thinking of trying Göteborgs-varvet (21 km). But it's been to far away to go to Quote

The Bricksmith Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 I used to run all of the time, I was able to do 7.2 miles is 45 minutes and 2 miles in 11.30. As for my longest run that would have been 12 miles in around 2hrs .30 min. But my knees started to give out on me and so I have taken a break for about a year. Now I don't know how far I could run. Quote
ILikePi Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 The most I ran nonstop was around 1.5 miles, and that was just because everyone in my school had to. Quote
Natman8000 Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 I've ran to the Lego store near me nonstop, mainly because I miss out on the good sets if I don't get there quickly. So basically 2 miles. Quote

Natman8000 Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 Wouldn't it be faster by car? Wouldn't it be great if I could drive? I'm a year or two under the driving limit. Quote
WhiteFang Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 Ran 21km, for Army Half Marathon, 3 years ago... Now, I am running average of 4 to 5km each week. Quote
