not-in-use-anymore Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 (edited) Has anyone thought of what the golden button is to magically make the spell wheel appear? I have a Wii, so I'm geussing you press Z to bring it up, A to choose it, and hold B to aim, and repeat to find a new spell. One thing I've really been wanting is a better character creator, in previous games it was too limited and didn't include all the minifig parts. If they do make it advanced, they should put in one more option: special abilities. In all the lego games so far it was always a male who has doublejump, but it should have more options like female(high jump), short legs, and maybe the things like Hermione's smartness access(don't know how this will work) or Hagrid's strength. But what's that plunger-o-tron-onater 3000 in the video supposed to do? I am glad to see there isn't any overly complicated use of animals, TT just treats them as normal playable characters. To finish this off, I hope they make a cave maker in the level builder, all you could do in LIJ2 was make hills/cliffs. Edited February 22, 2010 by indianajones Quote
???theriddler??? Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 They will have the same controls i think, you must do the same as by batman i think. Just choose a target, and each target has a different spell. At least, this is what i think, and i hope that you can choose your own spells. And yes, there must be a better Character Creator! Quote
not-in-use-anymore Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 (edited) Interesting how in the video Harry ran over a pawn on a giant white* rook, that's probably how you play chess, smashing black* peices. But the character creator was getting messier and messier each time, batman didn't even have flesh hands, only tan, and how could LIJ2 have KOTCS without the actual skull as an option? Also in the Hagrid/Knockturn Alley shop image there are skeletons lying around, mostly on the left. Hogwarts is alot more crazy than in the movies, merperson-statue-trident-bowling, rocking platform, and even couches that eat people(seen 2 times, actually) *I can understand a few things that are crazy, like in LIJ2 they added in all those bosses that never appeared, but it seems that either they: A)forgot, B)got it mixed up, C)were lazy, D)made them black to look evil or E)did it to somehow change the playing experience(I have no idea how it could affect it except changing who goes first) I didn't really use them in LSW**, but maybe they could put in 2-player challenges, like chess or _____-ing with spells **because I only had one controller Edited February 23, 2010 by indianajones Quote
not-in-use-anymore Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 Not really any exciting news, but there are two things i'd like to comment on: http://www.gamespot.com/news/6252443.html 1.what is it with splitscreen excitement? they've done it before in LIJ2, maybe it's because it's a different company? 2.it says it'll be out at the end of May, but they were probably talking about the game for the new systems. I hope it's released for the Wii on or before May 2nd 2010. Quote
???theriddler??? Posted February 27, 2010 Posted February 27, 2010 Thanks, i hope it would be out in March, ow well. Quote
not-in-use-anymore Posted February 27, 2010 Posted February 27, 2010 (edited) Some new images: http://www.gamespot.com/wii/adventure/lego...ges;header;more Can't put it here for some reason, but the sixth one is amazing, I can make out the trio, two yellow and blue crates, and the House point counter(what's it called again?) Harry's smile in the second one is... creepy, he looks insane(along with the him-holding-a-broom image) and it just doesn't seem too Lego-ey. I like how much detail they put in, even if it is just a couple of guys walking around. Quirell looks weird also, so I think this is the creepiest/weirdest set of images to be released for a lego game so far. Edited February 27, 2010 by indianajones Quote
not-in-use-anymore Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 It does, but still... it needs more Lego.(just like the Dursley's image, the only Lego was a murderous killing maniac Harry, holding a suspicious(non-Lego) letter) Quote
???theriddler??? Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 It does, but still... it needs more Lego.(just like the Dursley's image, the only Lego was a murderous killing maniac Harry, holding a suspicious(non-Lego) letter) Yeah your right, but look at Lego Indiana Jones for example, the only lego thing in the boulder chase was the boulder, Indy and Sapito, and some plants, not very lego. Same as Batman, almost no building was from lego bricks, but they could make the letter in hp from lego's. Quote
not-in-use-anymore Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 (edited) No, I mean compared to previous Lego games, Harry Potter doesn't have much. I'm seeing alot of images that have doors, boxes or other stuff that could easily be made with lego to give it a better feel. (also, the level in LIJ had alot more Lego than you said, it had statues, warriors, platforms, a plane, crates, spiderwebs, and even giant spiders.) (also noticed it's Indiana Jones and The Riddler talking about Harry Potter...) Edited February 28, 2010 by indianajones Quote
Sisco Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 (also noticed it's Indiana Jones and The Riddler talking about Harry Potter...) And now it's cralegoboy joining in the conversation. I think/hope this game will be great. That's what I said about LIJ2, as well, but lets hope this game is better. I love the idea of Hogwarts being the center of the game. It reminds me of the licensed games, where Hogwarts was the place to roam around in. I think that they should have used the old head for Ron, though. He looks like he just got out of a bar with the current one. Other than that minor detail, Roll on, HP, Roll on! Quote
???theriddler??? Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 (edited) New movie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dj_q2Dycdaw After 30 seconds, i clicked it away, it tells you almost everything what you get when you start the games. I have learned something from batman, i watched every picture and video that there was, and then i was a little disapointed in the game. So it's your chose. But i was happy that there wasn't almost anything from Lego Indiana Jones 2, but it was still a bad game . Edited February 28, 2010 by ???theriddler??? Quote
Sisco Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 Thanks, even though it wasn't new. I can't put my finger on where I've seen it before, but it's been out for a bit. Thanks anyways. Quote
???theriddler??? Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 Oke, i watched it, i just wanted to . Oke, nothing really spoilerish. I love the fact that the icons of wich character you are player is moving. There is only one thing i hate about this game till now. THE COLLORED BRICKS, that isn't anything like harry potter, those big green duplo block.(oke i know they are lego) (also noticed it's Indiana Jones and The Riddler talking about Harry Potter...) What the hell do you mean? Thanks, even though it wasn't new. I can't put my finger on where I've seen it before, but it's been out for a bit. Thanks anyways. I've never seen it before, do you think it looks like this: Quote
Sisco Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 No, I've just seen it somewhere. It wasn't like that video you just posted a link to. I guess it doesn't matter. Quote
not-in-use-anymore Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 (edited) Isn't it just an old video someone posted earlier, except with some intro in a language I don't know? I wonder what items could be in the creator... My ideas Switches: lever, button, something you have to cast a spell on, and any of those other things, like the mandrake or smart access. Adventure(probably not going to be called this): floating platform, ladder, broom Special: probably the same, maybe some new stuff Props: probably just most of the stuff you can find, like crates and couches Fun: lights, spinning things, random stuff Hazards: mandrakes, fire, two fire(two fire is twice as much fire as fire, duh.), living _____-s that attack you Creatures: any horse-like creatures(unicorns, Buckbeak, Thestrals, and Centaurs), rats, owls, spiders, and cats. New video on the site. Clever idea for Polyjuice potion as changing characters, now you never have to find them(but you do need to find the cauldrons). Year 3 video should be coming out sometime soon, we have a gameplay video and it's about the right time. I can't visualize a Sirius and Lupin in a Lego game, even when there are the minifigs. The Womping Willow looks just like the movie(except for Ron, he should be being dragged into it...) (also, I didn't mean anything by that previous post, I was just thinking of the actual characters in that situation, not you or me) Edited March 1, 2010 by indianajones Quote

???theriddler??? Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 Thanks anyway for the video, it was not a big deal, but still fun. Quote
not-in-use-anymore Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 Found some new pictures: http://www.harrypotterspage.com/images/pho...=179&page=2 What's the file 32 supposed to be(the number above the image once you click on it, if you need to know)? It looks like Hogsmeade, but in the Spring/Summer. Quote
???theriddler??? Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 I'm from the Netherlands, so i don't know the english name, but it's the gardens with the mandragora's. Quote
not-in-use-anymore Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 I only saw the movies up to 6, but can only remember up to 5, so I don't know what scene this was in. Did you mean the greenhouses? they're supposed to be right next to Hogwarts, and on the other side there shouldn't be a cliff.(according to the movie) Also, shouldn't it have a sunroof? Quote
???theriddler??? Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 I only saw the movies up to 6, but can only remember up to 5, so I don't know what scene this was in. Did you mean the greenhouses? they're supposed to be right next to Hogwarts, and on the other side there shouldn't be a cliff.(according to the movie) Yeah that's the one, it's from book/film two, where they grab the plants and put them into the pots. Quote
Oky Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 Yeah, that's probably it. The greenhouses in previous Potter games looked very similar. I too wish there would have been more Lego incorporated in the environment, but oh well. Quote
Eskallon Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 I prefer the game to have some lego elements but right now, I think it is fine. Myabe it could be nicer if it had more lego elements where it would be easy to design. Anyway on a side note, who likes my thing in my sig. Quote
