Posted June 2, 200915 yr Today I got the new Camper set (# 7639), one of few city sets of mine actually. I'm more of a Castle/Pirates guy Anyway, I loved this set and I finally got a bike! I had one when I was a kid but it was broken several times and was no use (it's still in my old collection back at my dad's house). With the new bike and it's wheels I could finally try to make something I've had in mind for a long time, a wheelchair: It's easy to take of the arm rests and put in a joystick instead: Back with handles and tip guard (is that the right word in english?): A few more pictures can be found here when public: Brickshelf I would like to give credit to Ricecracker for the way to attach the wheels with this piece. Thank you for watching, please tell me what you think of it if you want to /Etzel
June 2, 200915 yr I must say, that is VERY good. That leg technique could certainly get you some Lego fame...
June 2, 200915 yr I must say, that is VERY good. That leg technique could certainly get you some Lego fame... I'll agree that this is very good, however that leg technique has been around for quite some time now ;).
June 2, 200915 yr Very beutiful design! And I must say this is one of the first wheelchairs really MF style, I mean not oversized
June 2, 200915 yr Great job! I've seen a couple versions of LEGO wheelchairs, and this is by far the least bulky meathod that actually uses minifig legs. The joystick control suggesting a powered chair is very effective. I think it's time to take apart one of my bicycles!
June 2, 200915 yr Wow, that's the best minifig scale wheelchair i've seen. It's certainly very realistic. I work at a special school and a lot of the kids are in wheelchairs. I like the way it can swap between powered and manual. Laurie
June 2, 200915 yr Excellent job! Indeed a very realistic looking minifig scale wheel chair, that's great :D
June 2, 200915 yr Author Thank you everyone! I'm quite proud of this one really I've made some instruction photos of how to make it if anyone is interested: All the parts that is needed Construction 1 Construction 2 Done! Enjoy! Edited June 2, 200915 yr by Etzel
June 3, 200915 yr Absolutely outstanding wheelchair Etzel. It's so nicely to scale, and it just looks so smooth. I'll certainly keep the design in mind.
June 3, 200915 yr Very realistic and you nailed the scale! Very innovative and well done. Keep up the great work.
June 3, 200915 yr Very nice. I knewed someone who had a elektrick wheelchair with a boombox on its back, maybe I can try to make something like that now.
June 4, 200915 yr superb wheelchair! I love it ! and thanks a lot for the instruction, as the design is perfect, If I need one, I'm going to use it
June 4, 200915 yr Very nice use of those wheels for a great idea. The design is very smooth, thanks for sharing the instructions.
June 16, 200915 yr What happened to the vacation dude? Oh no! one minute I see him in a RV next hes in a wheel chair! Very nice wheel chair
June 17, 200915 yr I'm gonna try your design for my City display but I've a doubt: there's a proper connexion betweeen the legs and the green modified bricks or they're just "supported" by them? Thanks!
June 18, 200915 yr I'm not much around in this forum, but I think this is really nice. You've used some smart techniques on it and it looks very realistic. You're a great builder Etzel!
