Hinckley Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Happy Birthday again Siegfried! (belated ) Lord Siegfried's Long Range Cruiser: Beware the evil Lord Siefried! Cruising about the Total Garbage galaxy in his Long Range Cruiser, he seeks to upset order with his Random Unnecessary Rayguns! One blast from one of these twisted weapons will make the target completely random and totally unnecessary. Click any pic to check out the whole gallery... Another attempt at space from me. I like it, but I know it needs improvement. I would really love to revisit the landing gear and engines... As always please enjoy and feel free to leave feedback! Thanks. Quote
Shadows Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Dark blue and orange. Daring! Unexpected! Visually pleasing! I'm impressed. Keeping with Block Block tradition, I'd give this a 943. Not out of any number, just 943. I did take off points for the lack of trash and the missing girls. You know, they need the work, it isn't easy to pay for those outfits, plus they have to supply their own trash which doesn't come as cheap as one might expect. One blast from one of these twisted weapons will make the target completely random and totally unnecessary. *stands in front of the camera* It is true. Before I was shot by Lord Siegfried, I was a valued employee, a thoughtful and caring husband, and a devoted father of 12. 13. No, 12. Since I been shot, I shaved my head, started dressing in leather, and took up the accordion. I can be seen playing heavy metal renditions of all your favourite polkas at Oktoberfest celebrations the world over, but mostly in Ohio. Even when it isn't Oktober October. I am a much happier person since becoming random and totally unnecessary, and you will be too. Another attempt at space from me. You know, Block Block really does belong in Space. Well, it actually belongs in some kind of Sci-Fi forum. I hope Eurobricks has one of those some day. Quote
Quarryman Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Oh, sweet Really love the colour scheme, the dark blue goes very well with the orange. And lots of nifty details. But yeah, the lack of trash and girls isn't good, you should do something about that. Another attempt at space from me. I like it, but I know it needs improvement. I would really love to revisit the landing gear and engines... Have to agree there, the landing gear is, well, boring. Luckily it's hidden away so it doesn't detract too much from the visual appearance of the ship. Maybe some skis could work better there, not sure. As for the engines I think they could have benefited from being bigger, at the moment they just look too weak. But overall a very nice MOC, a good start to my day. Quote
cottonwood Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 I've always had trouble finding a use for that huge cockpit in MOCs ever since I took the Slave I apart (which was a bad idea in the first place). Good to see you pulled it off! Plus, I love the colours, very striking! Quote
HumanPackMule Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Very cool. Like the color scheme. Nice storyline too. Quote
Oky Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Yay! Another Block-Block MOC-MOC! Great work there Hinck! Looks very cool! Quote
Siegfried Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Lord Siegfried eh? What a distinguished name... and a cool ship too! With that bare chest Siegfried some-what reminds me of Kahn. I like how you did the bit below the cockpit; I can find it hard to make that area interesting sometimes. Overall, it reminds me of an overweight Jedi-starfighter! The undercarridge, the engines, and the overall shape is similar, but scaled up. Like Quarryman, I think the undercarridge would have been better as skids, but I've always preferred that solution for fighters. Considering you were obviously short on time this is pretty darn good! (Ya know, seeing it's a present for me, you probably shouldn't have called it a "long range cruiser"; surely you recall that I always rant that small ships will never be able to be high endurance... ) You know, Block Block really does belong in Space. Well, it actually belongs in some kind of Sci-Fi forum. I hope Eurobricks has one of those some day. Déjà? But I agree! I've always had trouble finding a use for that huge cockpit in MOCs ever since I took the Slave I apart Actually it's a smaller one... and I can't bare to break my Slave 1! Quote
I Scream Clone Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Great work and storyline Hinck. Siegfried is no doubt a happy traveller! Quote
Peppermint_M Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 That is very cool. I like orange and random. Dark blue and orange are a very nice colour combination. Forgive this noobish question: What does Block-Block mean? Quote
Quarryman Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Forgive this noobish question: What does Block-Block mean? It all started out with a mystery clone set set Hinckley pasted, and kind of just developed from there.. See this thread and this thread. Quote
BrotherDog Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 Nice design, and refreshing to see a complimentory color scheme. If it were a set, I'd purchase one. Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 (edited) With that bare chest Siegfried some-what reminds me of Kahn. KAHN!!!! nice moc, I love the color scheme! Dunno what block-block is though... I'll have a peak down the rabbit hole though, I mean I'll check out those links. I just looked up the history of block block and now i'm not sure wether to put by head in a trash can or join a cult... lol Edited June 20, 2009 by dannylonglegs Quote
