KimT Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Today I went looking for SpacePoliceIII and found nothing... What I did find was that my local toystore had gotten the new wave of Star Wars sets and they even had a small 'competition' going. One of these per customer and if you find Yoda behind the silver coating, well then you've won a poster of the 2009 minifig lineup Imagine how shocked I was when I discovered that I'd won Quickly I flashed the winning coupon and asked for my poster, this is where I got the usual 'aren't-you-a-little-too-old-for-this?'-look and also the point where she (the clerk) kindly explained that to her knowledge noone had 'lost' in this contest. Front of coupon: Rough translation (partly using google.translator ) "Win a cool LEGO Star Wars poster" "Scratch and find Yoda." "Good luck!" "If you've won you have to get the poster at the cashier in the store." Rear of coupon: "Purchase is not required to enter the competition" "Only 1 ticket per person" "Coupons are valid while stocks last or until the 03.07.2009." "Prizes are not to be passed to others and can not be exchanged for cash." "Nationwide there are 24,000 prizes and each prize has a value of 0.72 DKK." Poster: Yeah that's the one. I still can't figure out why people say this is wrong. The only mistake I've found is the Clone Tropper. Quote
Skipper 24 Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Lego are doing scratch cards . Not sure why you got the aren't you to old look. You have to be 16+ for scratch cards right ? Nice find anway. Quote
Eskallon Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Wow I would like to get one of them, I would hae never thought they would do scratch cards though. If they already have the posters it is likely one of the scatchcards will get a poster though cos lego wouldnt give posters to store members unless their were winning scratch cards. Quote
Shadows Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Front of coupon:Rough translation (partly using google.translator ) "Win a cool LEGO Star Wars poster" "Scratch and find Yoda." "Good luck!" "If you've won you have to get the poster at the cashier in the store." Too cool! Sadly, they take the coupon, don't they? I'd actually like to have one of those (and the poster of course). Think you'll be able to pile up a few to sell on BL? Quote
KimT Posted June 4, 2009 Author Posted June 4, 2009 I doubt it, since I frequent that store pretty often and they all know me. They allowed me to keep my coupon to share with you guys I think I'll return and ask the owner kindly to donate a few for the Star Wars Forum. And no, they're not folded, but rolled Quote
Future74 Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 I can only guess how the children in the shop must have felt. There must have been a lot of tears and screaming going on... ...and a big smile on your face Quote

There must have been a lot of tears and screaming going on... ...and a big smile on your face If only those poor kids knew who Santa really was... No offense, KimT. Had to get that out of my system. RoflWafls Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Wait, are the posters also in the sets or only available in this scratch off thing? Quote
KimT Posted June 4, 2009 Author Posted June 4, 2009 Wait, are the posters also in the sets or only available in this scratch off thing? I don't think I ever said something about them being in sets. The posters are rolled as opposed to being folded as the US S@H poster with minifigs is. When you pass the counter, you can snatch a scratch coupon and then exchange it for a poster when you're done scratching of the silver substance. It's just that simple Quote
Shadows Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 They allowed me to keep my coupon to share with you guys I think I'll return and ask the owner kindly to donate a few for the Star Wars Forum. And no, they're not folded, but rolled Snatch more coupons, they rock. And yeah, they would certainly be eligible for a free plug on the site. Heck, the poster could be shown on the frontpage with a simple, "Courtesy of our friends at:" line added. Rolled. Quote
Oky Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 (edited) The coupon is mutch cooler than the poster I agree! A hi-res scan of the back of it would make for a great poster! Please, KimT? Edited June 4, 2009 by Oky Wan Kenobi Quote
KimT Posted June 4, 2009 Author Posted June 4, 2009 I agree! A hi-res scan of the back of it would make for a great poster! Please, KimT? Arw nuts Please hold while I upload them. link 1 link 2 I'll try to rescan and see if I can make better versions, but please remember that the coupon is only 8x4 centimeters (or something like that). prateek Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 this poster came with some endor set (i think) i saw it in some review (i think) Quote
KimT Posted June 4, 2009 Author Posted June 4, 2009 this poster came with some endor set (i think) i saw it in some review (i think) The picture of the poster here is taken from that review and it's part of the instructions. The real poster (not pictured) is a little bigger than that. I'll do a pic tomorrow when the sun is here again. here's a few other coupon scans: .png 1 .png 2 EDIT: I just printed the .png's in A4 size and it looks ok. The red is a little mushy, but it's been doubled in size more than once, so I guess that's ok. Quote
Natman8000 Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Lucky chap. I'm glad that Lego is making these, they are quite nice to look at. Quote
ILikePi Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 (edited) Do you actually scratch the thing, or is it already scratched for you? Nice find by the way. I'll definitely print this thing later. EDIT: Is the paper just normal paper, or some thicker version? Edited June 5, 2009 by ILikePi Quote
Christian Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 Quickly I flashed the winning coupon and asked for my poster, this is where I got the usual 'aren't-you-a-little-too-old-for-this?'-look and also the point where she (the clerk) kindly explained that to her knowledge noone had 'lost' in this contest. Actually Yoda isn't on all of these. I didn't scratch a Yoda, but they gave me a poster anyway along with an extra chrome Vader Quote
KimT Posted June 5, 2009 Author Posted June 5, 2009 Yoda isn't on all of them? That's shocking.. imagine how sad a little kid will be when not getting the poster.. It's just wrong. I like the fun of a scratch contest like this, but I think people are supposed to win a poster. It's just a little promotional fun, isn't it? - apparently not, since yours didn't have a Yoda. Do you actually scratch the thing, or is it already scratched for you? EDIT: Is the paper just normal paper, or some thicker version? Did you actually read the first post? Yes, I scratched it Whatcha mean normal or thicker? - The coupon is made of thick paper, if that is what you're asking and the poster is made of glossy posterpaper. Quote
L-space Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 How big is the actual poster BTW? And off course: is there a large scan of it for us poster-less people? thanks! Quote

I also thought that Yoda would be on all of them, so I was quite surprised when there was no Yoda on mine. Fortunately they gave away the posters even if people didn't scratch a Yoda. I was told that they had had several people, who didn't scratch a Yoda. Quote

Oh, okay. Thanks for answering my questions. I'll print these soon on 8.5 X 11 paper and see how it looks, though my color printer might be low on ink. And L-Space, you can just buy one of those LEGO Star Wars sets that have the poster in the instruction manual. Quote
