Misprints and Other LEGO Production Oddities

Just got a sea captain and funnily enough the hat piece was completely BLACK! (there was still the little gold bit but the white bit is black)

This is good and bad :) I was going to paint the hat black for Capt. Haddock though I was a bit annoyed that it was black ( I wanted to paint it ;()

Anyone else have this happen to them?

You got a unique piece that spared you the time and effort to paint it and you complain? E-mail the customer service if you want the correct white one for the captain and just keep the rare black one.

LEGO won't replace anything specific in CMFs. Some I knew had a problem with an accessory and LEGO just offered to send him 3 random packs in hopes he would get a replacement.

I got this 1x12 Light Bluish Grey piece from 7347 Highway Pickup bent like a banana... There was no stress marks in the piece at all. It looks as if it came out of the mold like it.

and I got this 1x1 Tan Brick from 6864 The Batmobile and the Two-Face Chase...

I received replacement parts for both so am happy... Just thought I would share

The first one, not so nice, the second one though could be kind of interesting. Are the little flaps of plastic easily movable or are they somewhat strong?

I, unfortunately, don't have any misprints, bending, etc. But I was missing 1 Cross Axle 3M (Official name courtesy of Brickset ) in my LotR Pirate Ship Ambush set. My other experience with missing pieces was with the Volkswagen T1 Camper Van. I was missing about three studs in that set! I still haven't got a chance to request replacements.

I had a problem with the Volkswagen capmpervan as well: the sticker sheet was missing.

I've had a shelob attacks where one bag had been replaced by another- i had a double!!

Also, did anyone else get an extra sticker sheet in Bag end??

The BTTF set, if you haven't noticed, has a misprint on the Flux capacitor.

I know, it's very bad but unlike pieces which you can get again I'm not sure if sticker sheets have a code that you can use to get another one.

Shouldn't be a problem. Just email them and explain. I did this a few years ago with faded stickers on the cinema from 10184 Town Plan and to my surprise, they shipped it free.

I've had some heads with half an eyebrow and also jokers henchman from at wing has a terrible printed face

Thanks Legocrazy81, I've always needed the stickers mainly for the actual Volkswagen symbol on the front itself.

I'd love to see that. The piece is made in white plastic with black printing. a completely black one would indeed be a miracle rarity.

I'm not sure this is classified as an "error" or a "oddity" but if I remember well the 2010 clone turbo tank was pictured with a battle droid in front of it but when I got the set it had no battle droid on the box art or the set itself.

That would be more of a Typo than an Error or Oddity. Image typo, if that is what to call it.

I have this. Can not find any info on it. It is not in the Bricklink catalog, only as red or blue. I label it is a production oddity as I can not find it listed as existing.

I think it is from a special edition from the 2002 jango fett's slave I which came with a black case if i remember correctly.

I got this from build a mini at the Lego store in the annapolis mall. Someone else got a second one. Its a skul with a second face on the back. Its a cool error. Has anyone else seen one of these?

Big packaging mess by Lego

This is the Senate Commando Battlepack but the bag is filled with Geonosis troopers and 4 helmets of the republic commandos, no legs or torso. Also there is some pieces of the walker and the canon. The bag is filled with half of each BP...

Maybe I can sell this as the only Geonosis senate commandos BP lol

I have a couple of blank Chima gorilla heads I got from the build-a-minifig bins at my local store (one of which I used as a blank canvas for a paint job).

The only misprints I've got are your standard old school allignment issues on things like classic space torsos. I also have a couple of heads from wave 1 collectable minifigs that are completely the wrong shade of orange somewhere, but that seems to be a reasonably common problem with that first set of fidures.

This is my No Face Fox, which I found in the Elves Bakery set. I actually rather like it. It does have the back/tail printing, so it's not completely blank. I took a picture of the fox with the face printing next to it for comparison.
