When that date comes, will all the SB stuff on the site go down and a message sent to every retailer that sells them to take them off the shelves or something?

Maybe the remaining inventory will be moved to the clearance bins. (50% off all remaining LEGO SpongeBob sets!)

Honestly I'm hoping Star Wars will end soon. I think it has had its time, the newer sets don't have the abundance of great figs the older ones lie Jedi Duel had, its mosly just clones and droids now.

To the Batbrickmobile!

The words of an Imperialist (shakes head sadly). How could you say that????

I wish Lego Indy would end unless they make better sets! Like the scene where Indy is on the submarine, make a good submarine from the RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK. But spongebob was poorly graded at the start and was doomed. Disney I believe is doomed as well, although it may have a great start.

And the newer sets have great new figures like the Rebel Commandos, and we may have had more single figure-only sets if Hasbro wasn't so whiney about it. And what has Hasbro made themselves that was really good apart from Transformers, (The movies are good [2007 & 2009] but the figures are bad) that they didn't buy off another company. That was a rant that didn't mean anything apart from nothing. Mindless Banter.

Personally spongebob wasn't such a bad series, it has colourful and vibrant colours. I only got my first set on saturday and it was actually pretty good. The minifigures arn't that bad but pretty useless away from spongebob.

To a certain extent I agree that star wars lego has had it time. Sure a lot of people love it but series have to come to a end. Sets are been created with the sane pieces and not introducing new techniques

The future for prince of persia and disney give us a wider range. It should also introduce us to new minifigures and experience.

And although I hate to admit it, I have a feeling that Indy is going to end soon too.

Remember me saying this? Well, it looks like I was right. Nothing is confirmed yet, but rumors are coming in that the Indy line will be discontinued: Link

:cry_sad: At least we get an Arc and landspeeder. It's just like Batman. They release a video game when the theme is ending. I hope it's just a silly rumor, one more year could produce alot of wanted sets.I'm getting sick of CW though. :hmpf_bad:

Uh oh, looks like it's time to start hoarding sets before the prices go through the roof. And we never got that tank!!!

Well, wait a minute. Batman had three waves, AND it was only one of those waves only had sets come out in both January and July. What I'm saying is, maybe there aren't any Indiana Jones sets for January (there were only two this year), but there will be sets in July. It would be silly not to let Indy run for three years. Even Spongebob ran for three years.

Hmm I can't say I'll be sad if Indy ends. I have a bunch, all unopened (I have them all except Shanghai Chase, River Chase, and the lastest wave of five) and they could make me quite a bit of cash if the line got discontinued! OT: Yay!!! I just posted in the future Star Wars set topic that I wanted a new Arc, and on top of it, there's a new Tri Fighter!

We'll find out if it's over soon enough. I can't see it ending so soon. The line has sold quite well and if it ends after only 2 years then that means spongebob will have lasted longer than indiana jones :cry_sad: Let indy go on for 1 more year and then see how it goes. at least hold out the theme until the lucasfilm deal ends

Yup. I believe this to be true, although it will be sad to see it go so soon. You, Svelte, and some others must have been right in saying that it will have run its course by the time 2010 is over. :sadnew:

Even if it does end next year, there's still that year to make the tank, train, and other sets that haven't been made yet.

Wait, so does it end this year or next year? I thought that it meant that this was the last year. I can except the fact that it will end after next year, I just don't want it to end after this year.

I think they're saying that these will end before 2010. So no sets in 2010. i hope this isn't true. Did I read it wrong? Is 2010 legos indy's last year? If so then this isn't so bad.

Awww, that's quite annoying, Indy was one of my favourite themes in recent years. Hopefully it wil continue, but if not, atleast we'll learn the answer to the question; can Prince of Persia and Idy coexist?:cry_sad:

To the Brickmobile!

I'm hoping that maybe they missunderstood or something and that the line will end after 2010. There are so many good pieces in POP for Indy. :cry_sad:

C'mon! You said it'd last 2-3 more years. SP sucked, Indy will last longer then Spongebob no doubt. This is the ONLY source.

rumour list for the 2010 LEGO line.
Anyway, assuming It MIGHT end by the end of 2010. Edited by JCC1004

I'm pretty sure that they meant Indy will end at the end of 2010, just like SB this year. So, yes, I think there will be at least one more wave of Indy.

Woah Woah! I siad I bet it will last 2-3 more years because lego has the liscense for 2 more years. I never said that that was a certain fact!

I read the Jedi news post as meaning the line was discontinued as of this latest wave. Especially since it was in the context of listing potential Star Wars sets for January. If there were plans for one more wave of Indy in 2010, it would be odd to say at this point the 'line is to be discontinued' since that would be one full wave we haven't even heard about yet! Personally, I think they mean 'discontinued - full stop' - not 'discontinued after one more wave of set releases!'.

I do agree the wording is a little vague.

It would have been nice to have one final wave in January, but I think Lego is simply pouring their resources into the new licenses. That PoP looks so promising is some consolation.

What I'm wondering if they know for a fact that Indy is canceled, or if they just assume that it is discontinued because there are no new sets listed for January. What I'm saying is that if it is the latter, then there still could be a last new wave in June/July.

I'm staying positive, because I think Indy has one more good year left and I really want that tank!!! ( ) If you can make three good years of Batman, or even Spongebob, then you can make three good years of Indy.

I said pretty sure, or in other words strongly believe, so speculation. Bad wording on my part, sorry.

I have to disagree with you on this one, Svelte (or maybe I'm just wishful ) . They said "is to be discontinued", but not when, and they also said that this was a rumor until confirmed. Half of that SW set list sounds bogus anyway.

Just because we haven't heard of any new sets for Indy doesn't mean it won't be continued. It's barely August, and I don't think we've had any other set rumors besides SW (Have we?).

I'm just trying to boost moral, I seem to be the only one who believes this is a silly rumor that has only shown up one ONE site.

I completely agree. That's what I'm thinking too. And it looks like I/we have been right before.

Yeah, but JediNews is usually a reliable source.

I don't think we've had any other set rumors besides SW (Have we?).

Well, there is word over in the 2010 themes thread that there will be a Atlantis-style theme with merpeople, but that is more a rumor than the jedinews post.

I think we're all making too much of this. Let's just wait until the rumors really start flying in mid august. I think that this was just perhaps a missconception or maybe it is true. But we'll find out soon enough.

I find it very hard to believe that they'll discontinue Indiana Jones.

Especially since:

A: They expected to make 340 Million Danish Crownes in sales, but reached 600 millions.

B: The new games are to be released close to Christmas.

Would be a little odd to shut down then, wouldn't it?

Posted

If new games are to be released close to Christmas, maybe there will also be a few sets and then the line is finished.

They could release some sets before the end of this year and then PoP could take IJ's place. :cry_happy:

Posted

I find this hard to believe because:

1. With PoP, Indy has tons of new molds, like the head wrap for the Staff of Ra scene and the camels for the tank.(But we don't want any camels, but I counted 5  )

2. Sales have been great.

3. Theres talk of a 5th movie.

4. A new videogame is coming out.

5. Theres still alot of sets they could make! (Ok, not TONS but some.......)

But Jedinews has been right a lot, but I'm guessing (and hope) its just some misunderstanding.....
