Solicom Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 I just wanted to say hello to all of my fellow avid Lego Pirate and in general Lego fans. My story is probably similiar to most, as a young boy (5-10) I grew up playing with lego, particulary pirate lego was always my favorite. My parents bought me a fair amount of the impulse sets and also some of the medium scale sets however I never lucked out with any of the big pirate ships or trading posts/forts. Currently I'm 25 and roughly a year ago or so I was on ebay and figured Id see what some of my old favorites and some of the sets I used to lust after were going for these days... ... I then bought a bunch of them! lol Still missing a couple sets, the Deep Sea Barracuda and Rock Island Refuge are must haves for me. I put up a couple shelfs in the office but it looks like if I plan to get any additional sets Im going to have to buy more shelves. I love the looks of the new sets I just cant for some reason buy them... Ive been so close to pulling the trigger but they just dont have the memories the old sets do for me. Anyway heres a couple pictures to show you what I currently have, you can barely tell when you first walk in that your about to have a big smile put on your face. And then you look to your left. I have to say the look awesome, I love the bright primary colors. Also one other thing, I dont really play with them... not like I used to when I was a kid anyway. Ive seen some very impressive collections and I can only assume that most people play with them... makes me feel kinda.. shitty/unimaginative! Anyway just wanted to say I appreciates all of the AFOL's who put this site together, who continue to collect and build awesome MOCs! Quote

Davey Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 Welcome to Eurobricks! This is a great community with a lot of fun people. Looks like you've got a good collection going there. I love the old Pirate ships and must confess that I too am a fan of the bright primary colors. Glad you came out of lurking status. -Dave Quote
Joey Lock Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 Ahoy Solicom! We would be glad to have you and your collection as a new edition to the Royal Navy! Quote
Captain Green Hair Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 Welcome to Eurobricks, always good to see another pirate fan joining the ranks! You should get the Black seas barracuda when you get the chance, it is still the best pirate set ever made IMO. Quote
Commodore Hornbricker Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 Welcome Aboard! Great picture. When I was just about your age I had the exact same set up in my home office. That was the same age approximately that I rediscovered the classic pirates sets and began collecting all that I had missed out on...Well shortly after that my home office got coverted to my second daughters bedroom and I broke them all down and put them away for a few years while I was busy with two small children. Then they got older and I started collecting again and building but my time here has really inspired me to do more custom designs with Lego so welcome and keep building and collecting. Quote
Capt. Kirk Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Welcome to Eurobricks and all it sub-forums... Still missing a couple sets, the Deep Sea Barracuda and Rock Island Refuge are must haves for me. --> You can win them in contests (for the record, the PTV contest is over but others will follow)... Teddy Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Welcome to Eurobricks, that is already a nice collection you have there. Welcome to Eurobricks, always good to see another pirate fan joining the ranks! You should get the Black seas barracuda when you get the chance, it is still the best pirate set ever made IMO. I can second that. The BSB is the best ship designed by Lego up untill now in my opinion. Quote
Ratshot Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Welcome to EB and CP(CP is short for Classic Pirates.) You have a very impressive collection and you have most of the classic sets. Quote
