Perterz Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 (edited) Hi all, it's been a while since I've posted something, left alone a MOC. I'm currently buzzy with my Medieval layout but yesterday I was inspired to make something I really like in real life, a HotRod. I took the engine from the 'Custom Car Garage' set, slightly modified tho. I'll probably make my own engine blocks soon enough. I'm very pleased with the outcome, know that this is my first Lego car in 15 years or so.. I would've done it in green with tan instead of dark bley with white but I simply do not own the needed pieces in the wanted colors. I know it would've appealed even better in those colors Any thoughts are appreciated! Greetings, Kevin. Edited June 8, 2009 by Perterz Quote
Rick Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 Nice work, I especially like the brick-built seating... Quote
Raphy Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 oo, I like. Looks a bit like the same scale my own 8-wide Daytona is in! Quote
Col. Brik Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 oo, I like. Looks a bit like the same scale my own 8-wide Daytona is in! Very nice. Has a "Rat Rod" look to it. 32-34 Ford T-bucket Roadster with a later V8 engine. Very nice. The color choice matches the current trend in the Rod community also. Well Done. Quote
Davey Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 I agree with Col. Brick...this definitely has the 'rat rod' feel two it. I love the mix of colors giving it that 'primer' look with a grill that might even be slightly rusted. I also like the way you did the center console using a 1x3 curved slope. I've yet to see something like that. Very innovative. The brick build seating is great and I like the engine details. Great work! -Dave Quote
Perterz Posted June 9, 2009 Author Posted June 9, 2009 (edited) I'm glad you like it and I'm surpriced somebody actually knows the difference between a RatRod and HotRod! You're actually right about this beeing more ratrod than hotrod! Anyway since I'm also glad about this creation, I'll probably make more. Thanks for the input so far!
