You got Skopio?

And no review on EB?

You make us very sad. ;_;

But seriously, how is it? :P

Is the side as sucky as I think it to be?

And how is Tellerius?

[-TA-]

I doubt I'll do a review. I'm not one for long explanations. But I may be able to answer questions you have about it.

Side isn't bad.

Tellu… Tel… the guy is okay.

Envy.... I've still got to wait about 2-3 months before they show up in NZ. If at all. :hmpf_bad:

Do you like it though? And how long 'till you scrap it for parts?

I like it.

Also, Axalara and Jetrax are still assembled. What does that tell you?

That tells me you don't want to rebuild them

Well at least that's why I don't take any inner components off of Rockoh and Axalara. >.>

Sweet. Did you order it online or buy it in a store? If in store, which? If I get the funding I might get this guy. Is he worth the 90$ price tag?

Online. Yes, I'd say it's worth it.

To the mentions of Ackar and Strakk with shields, that's apparently artistic license for the movie or something.

The preview chapter in Raid on Vulcanus-the match between Ackar and Strakk-had them using shields. It didn't mention the designs of them, just that they were shields. So, that must be what some Glatorian carry in the movie as they appear.

Makes sense when you think about it, that they carry their melee weapon and a shield.

I received the Skopio XV-1 set today, and I love it.

The Figure:

Telluris is below average for a figure. The arms are a bit strange with the double-elbow effect, and the shoulder armor sometimes gets in the way. The torso seems a bit small, too, and the lower arms are a brighter yellow than the rest of the figure. However, I doubt you'd buy this set for the figure anyway. I do want to mention that Telluris' helmet is the same as the heads of the Spikit in the Baranus V7 set, just turned around. This gives you a 2-in-1 helmet, which I like.

The Main Body:

The center of the vehicle is solid in its construction, as it should be. The main components are three new brace pieces that attach with some beams. Two of the braces are the same, and the third is slightly smaller. The tail, head, and legs all attach here. One "feature" I wasn't aware of is that the two panels at the back could open and close, allowing the tail to move up.

The Tail and Head:

The tail contains two Midak Skyblaster pieces (they're different in the storyline), two life counters, and one Thornax launcher (which is held on by a Glatorian hand, interestingly enough). It is connected by two TECHNIC beams only, which makes it a bit flimsy and unable to stand up if it's at an angle. The head is fairly simple, and can move up and down to allow the pilot to be seated. The two hoses that plug into Telluris' head attach here, too. The jaws open and close, which works well and is fairly satisfying.

The Legs:

There's not all that much to be said about the legs. All four of them are exactly the same (which means you might want to get someone to help you build them; it is a very tedious process to have to build the exact same thing four times). Each has four piston pieces to make the joints more sturdy. The legs all have a section of tracks on them, which become the tracks when it's in "tank mode". The lower legs fold inward and each of the legs fold sideways toward the center. This converts it into its "tank mode". This is a very effective function.

Pieces:

Oh man. Oh man. This is probably one of the absolute best sets for parts ever. It has 16 total piston pieces (4 for each leg), 16 pairs of ratchet pieces (that connect the legs to the body), 96 track pieces (24 on each leg), 8 sprocket pieces (for the tracks; 4 big and 4 small), 20 of the pieces that look like (O +), 12 of the new ball joints, 8 of the blade pieces you see in the middle of each leg, many beam pieces, and plenty of axle pieces. I know I'm probably forgetting some.

Overall:

This is definitely an awesome set. I would say it is worth the cost, whether you're going to scrap it immediately for parts or you're going to build it to play with. I haven't yet had a chance to play with it (only having gotten it today), but I'm sure I'm going to get a lot of fun out of it. I would recommend buying this set to anyone that can afford it.

Way better than "this is an awesome set its cool 10/10", eh?

12 of those new ball joints? O=(O+) I've gotta get double of the set if that's the case, so that I've got one for MOCing.

Oh, no no no. I wish. The new ball joints as in the single ball with an axle hole all the way through them. I didn't know what else to call them.

Aww. But those ball joints are still good, because I've got plenty of the original kind but only a couple of the new ones from 1 or 2 titans and some Inika. I tihnk I'll get a second Skopio if it's on a good sale. :classic:

Sahmad is from Tesara. Apparently.

Doesn't matter, I'm still not convinced that Baranus is worth buying anyway. Grey hands bug me. They're alright on Ackar, but dark bley and orange is just no. Thornatus is way more awesome. As is Skopio.

And about the movie clip. It was okay, but I don't get the Ignika changing direction. And I thought the comic was more epic in terms of "camera" angles, if you know what I mean. And Bara Magna looks weird. The colours. Are weird.

Oh gawd, those legs and price just killed Skopio off my list. Maybe I'll wait for it to be 30 bucks at Wal-Mart like Axalara.

Where did you saw that ? If you're talking about the Baranus' box then I can tell you the picture on the box doesn't matter. Sahmad is an Agori of a Spherus Magna tribe (Telluris belongs to the same tribe but is a member of the Glatorian species) that was wiped out by a plague and he now lives in the Wastelands (and sometimes in Roxtus). Well, that's what I read on BS01.

Ackar has orange too... Although I can't see why LEGO hasn't made black hands yet.

Bright/varying colours = more interesting for kids. It's probably the reason that the moons and UDD clouds are like that, so that the Bara Magnian night sky is more appealing for kids.

It says on his bio he's from Tesara. But that's... interesting.

I might buy Toa Mata Nui after all. I think I could make Keetongu a lot better with those parts.

And I've ordered the Legends. Woot.

And you actually trust what the bio says? Next thing you're gonna say is that Fero is not a Bone Hunter, but an Agori just because he's listed in the Agori group.

I've built 4 Legends, Click, Mata Nui Titan, and the three biggest vehicles, Baranus V7, Thornatus V9, and Skopio XV-1.

I looked foreward to Skopio, and it more or less lived up to expectations.

Baranus I think look strange, but it's better than it looks, at least it has nice parts like the two light/dark green masks.

Thornatus was not to my liking, but after I've built it, I think the design is rather cool. Cool colours, nice function. An essential MOD for me, is replacing or MOD of the drivers of the vehicles.

Heh, who could forget the "MoMN Icarax" from last year?

Yeah, agreed. I don't like any vehicle drivers they've made so far. I don't see a problem with LEGO being able to make them at least as good as the canister/small sets, possibly with weapons which they can mount on the sides while they're driving.

Also, I noticed that two of the blasters on the Thornatus are easily detachable, is that correct?

Yes, the two blasters on e.g. the right side (total of four blasters), are attached as an assembly with two black technic bushings. They can be taken off as that assembly. But the top one is only attached to that subassembly by a single 1M cross axle, and is easily dismounted.

I will let some of the designers aware of your view on weapons for the drivers. I think you got a good point, it will add more play value.

Even set designers mod sets. hehe.png

Yeah, most drivers are... kinda terrible.

Heey, so I uh... finally ordered the Legends (what is this, like, 8 months later than everyone else?). They should be here in about a week, but apparently there's something up with the mail system that's making it go faster or something like that.

Gah, I can't wait until I get them. I need to make my YouTube video as soon as possible (I'm making like... an epic...).

I was thinking I should've gotten a vehicle, but, again, my mom had to buy them, and of course, I'd hate to pay her back... well, she does ow me $1000 dollars (yes, you read right, one thousand dollars, for someone who lives in our house's bills on his house...). But oh well.

Anyways... yeah. ._. I forget. xP

Thank you! Less generic/more complicated drivers is something that a lot of us want. It might compromise the vehicle a bit in terms of price, but it would add way more value to the driver.

I think Front is a piece designer, not entire sets, but a lot of things that designers want to make are not sturdy, safe, economical, or "cool" enough for kids.

Great, thanks for saying that about bigger drivers. xD Now I'm thinking about a freakin', huge-mongo vehicle, that's like $150+ with a titan (like, KN Taks) size driver with huge intricate styling and weapons.
