Guys, just read on BZP that Fero and Skirmix packaging box has been changed to promote the new sets and movie. If anyone finds one of those, check the back picture.

It's being a beach for me right now; can't get on...

How major of a change is it? Like, major major?

Edit: Oh yeah, anyone have any idea what's been up with brickshelf? All the folders have been down for almost a day now.

Edit2: Nooooo... now maj is hopelessly gimped as well. Antroz, you're right; something like this happened two years back (I think), so it was almost due to happen again...

Sturdy, tough, mostly made of TECHNIC pieces, so that was a plus.

However, there are some (four, to be exact, one for each wheel) yellow three length liftarms. They're not that visible, 'cuz they get covered up, but they're certainly an oddity.

I'll do a more in-depth review a little later.

I also ordered the Cendox V1 and Kaxium V3 sets, so no more BIONICLE this month...

Going back to the dicussion of driver MODs, I would like to throw in my thoughts, as well as reflections on Clonies.

Cendox V1 pilot (Crotesius) -- I would make his colour scheme more similar to Raanu, because Crotesius is a fire Agori as well. The helmet, I don't think really fits with the other three fire sets. Maybe a recolour of the Ackar/Berix helmet, perhaps a dark red and yellow mix?

In my opinion, this guy is a bit too much like Vultraz from last year. I think his helmet is fine, mainly because it is a recolor and dual mask, something I, and many other fans, seem to like. I just think his color scheme is plain. You know, if he had yellow feet and gray hands. or yellow feet and yellow hands, with a gray body, that way it would make him pop out, and go along with Raanu. I think the yellow used for hm would look great if it matched the yellow on the actual vehicle, thusly making him fit in with the vehicle(and on the flip side, making the vehicle look like a lava-mobile of sorts)

Kaxium V3 pilots (Scodonius and Kirbraz) -- Again, they should be more akin to Berix in colour. IMO black and Mata blue looks really terrible on these guys, so I think replacing the black with more blue should do, as well as better helmets. The helmets are okay, but they just don't fit with the other water sets. I think maybe blue-shaded Malum helmets?

Now in my honest opinion, I thought these guys were white in the preliminary pictures. Whn I saw they were blue, I was...upset. So a white and light blue colorscheme would work great with these guys.

Alas, they are water agori. I think the first thing I would do is make their colorschemes the same. Make them like twins in a way. Clonie is right with the Mata Blue and Light blue color schemes from berix coming onver to them. Silver Helmets aren't bad, but maybe theycould be two tones, Mata Blue and Gold perhaps? (Gold being from Tarix and Berix)

Baranus V7 pilot (Sahmad) -- This guy is the closest they've come to perfection in drivers, but that's not saying much. The orange and black looks rather good, the only thing I'd change is the hands, to black instead of grey. I believe his tribe isn't element-affiliated, so he looks good in that respect, as a nomad.

Eh, I think if he were tan, or green, he would look much better. Orange and Black is too much like a dark Photok. Tan would be more Nomad-Like, and Green would reflect the Spikits colors and make it more consistent. His design is good though.

Thornatus V9 pilot (Perditus) -- While he isn't terrible, he's still rather plain. I'd put some orange in his colour scheme, get rid of the grey and black. Give him an orange head, despite its overuse, it looks rather fiery.

The Orange head I disagree on, as I think it would clash with the helmet too much. But His hands...Well, in my mind, making them gray looks quite terrible. Black would be over 100% better. It is just more pleasing. His simple design is okay for me though. He doesn't need to be tough, right? I mean, He does have that huge vehicle by his side.

Skopio XV-1 pilot (Telluris) -- The design bugs me. It's half Agori, half Glatorian. I think they should have settled for an Agori design, then we could have gotten yellow Agori limbs. Yellow and grey is a good colour scheme for him.

Much agreed. I like the legs fine, but the arms are a bit funky. So if the arms cant be fixed, or the legs cane be shortened, he would look better with agori limbs.

And a few thoughts in general on the subject. Having the drivers is cool, a good idea. But for what we are paying, I expect more. I think it is meant as a bonus, but to me it seems like a small pile of parts left over. With a few simple add-ons, I think they could be great.

My personal favorite is Cendox.

Kaxium is a little bland on the inside of the vehicles.

Then I'd spend the rest on other Lego.

Or Cendox and Glatorian, whichever you prefer.

Cendox and Glatorian. For Glatorian, pick Mata Nui, Ackar and Kiina.

Yeah, I'm way happy with the voice acting already. The calming voice of Michael Dorn surpasses the opening with Jaller in Mask of Light by light years.

Needed Click to reply back in shield mode. That woulda been hilarious, and adds a new advantage to Mata Nui's arsenal. Imagine his own shield giving him notes on what happens on his blind side. That'd be a cool option.

I love the voice and character of Mata Nui so far, but he seems way too nice to match the careless GS that he has been previously.

I also love the way that his movie version uses the set rather than storyline to look amazingly detailed. It makes you appreciate the detail of the plastic set a lot more. (Not that I've got it yet though... ) The only bad thing is that the accurate-to-set, over-lengthed arms make him look super-gorilla-like once animated.

Also, thanks Swert for the YT link, because the streaming on BIONICLE.com isn't top-notch.

I think the posterized style of the profiles id similar, too. cant' say I care too much for that style, tho. It may be an attempt to appeal to today's youth, but it's not Bionicle at all. They should find another way to get kid's attention.
