Nightmare Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 (edited) Maybe it'll be better to have separate topic for everything? I mean, topic for music, topic for movie... I'd prefer to hear what the Mods say before doing anything... Anyways, here's my profile. I just uploaded the song as an HD WMV video (or at least I think so), and it's now processing, so we'll have to wait until tomorrow to see how it turns out... Anyways, in some minutes (Let's say 30 mins-1 hour) it will be processed in normal wuality. meanwhile you can check my other vids, including some BIONICLE music videos if you want. Front Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 Stronius isn't in the movie. Great, you actually have seen the movie ? Quote
Nightmare Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 Great, you actually have seen the movie ? No, it's because Greg said he didn't appear. And well... Greg had the script in his own hands. Heck, he worte the story. Quote
hewkii9 Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 You can ALREADY download Bye Bye Babylon on iTunes I haven't heard this song personally, but I take it that it doesn't sound like the similarly named N'Sync song? No, it's because Greg said he didn't appear. And well... Greg had the script in his own hands. Heck, he worte the story. Really? I thought it was like the other movies, where he didn't have input with the movie's story but had to work around it. I suppose this is just another reason why this'll be the best Bionicle movie [although I am partial to Legends of Metru Nui]. Quote
Zip Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 Damn. It sounds much better than the songs post-Creeping in my Soul. Hellz, might even be enough to top CiMS. The instrumental music fits the ancient Roman feel so well. The rock music is slightly disturbing sometimes, but not enough to kill it. The lyrics are also questionable, and I don't know how "Bye Bye Babylon" fits as a verse, or if mentioning Hell is appropriate for little kids. Good song nonetheless. Quote
---Vertea--- Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 I have to say- Bye Bye Babylon was a darn good listen. No where near as cool as Creeping in My Soul, but still epic. I wonder if it will play in the movie credits or something, since the commercials aren't having any non-movie promotion. ... Unless they do a Ghost classic with the Cryoshell song playing in it.... Quote
VBBN Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 In my opinion, Bye Bye Bablyon sucks. I mean, the music is good, as are the lyrics, but I just can't get over the lead singer. She should congested. I mean, Creeping in My soul was good because she was putting in a deep meaningful voice. I guess I just think Evanescence is far better. :/ But the first couple seconds of the song? Well, I hope that is the part that is played in the movie, if it even is at all. Quote
S-N Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 No, it's because Greg said he didn't appear. And well... Greg had the script in his own hands. Heck, he worte the story. No, he never said he doesn't appear. Just that he doesn't have a speaking role. At the end they maybe decided to switch Stronius with a regular Skrall's role. Quote

I think she's trying to hard to sound like something she's not. She should just do what's her and the songs will sound better. Personally, I also find the guitar sections out of place and like a bit of annoyance in an otherwise wicked tune. We need another creepy year so she can make another Creeping-esque song. And for the record: Amy Lee is the best. Edited July 19, 2009 by ---Vertea--- Quote
ShaddowCroc Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 Damn, man. Bye Bye Babylon is definitely better than I imagined it would be. The eastern-type music is a really great added accent to the rock, and the orchestral parts remind me deeply of the music from the original BIONICLE movies. I just wish I could understand the lyrics. >> -Weird Al's "Smells Like Nivarna" runs through head- It's still a definite improvement over the Mistika song, which I thought was much too emo. Quote

I reming you that the song was supposed to follow the story BTW, they just made the band. Do not expect them to be so professionals as others when they're just "born" Quote
Zarkan Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 Am I the only one still posting in the bionicle topic that actually really likes Closer to the Truth? That song is honestly the only song I've liked since Creeping in My Soul, and I honestly feel it's Cryoshell's best. Also, it fit perfectly with the epic final battle theme that Bionicle 2008 was trying to get across. Oh, and I happen to like the lead singer, honestly. And this is coming from someone who generally hates hard rock music. Quote
Avohkahs' Sparks Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 (edited) I have a quick question. A little while ago I posted a topic asking someone to draw me 2009 characters battling. It was closed and the admin said to post it in the art forum, but I could find none. This seems the next best place to ask. Are there any good artist that would be able to do that for me? tao07 Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 a friend is transcribing "Raid on Vulcanus" on her computer, maybe soon all people that can buy the book will get able to read it online :DAlso, She says that will send me a copy! yay! (Here in Argentina the BIONICLE books don't come) could you also send me one, please? also, I just noticed that in the vehicles video, the Skopio creature is being ridden by Telluris (Actually, there seems a keetorange object behind his head) Quote

And tao, no, there's no Telluris. Looks like there's one, but that's all. In fact it is his neck. Quote
The Alchemyst Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 (edited) @Greivous: Don't think Cryoshell is Hard Rock at all. =/ With all the different instruments, and especially with CiMS and now this, it's much more alternative I think. My kind of music. :D Heh, I personally like Instrumentals better than the ones with Lyrics. Listened to both. Absolutely loving the Instrumental of BBB, the Arabian undertones are working really well, with the Strings and Brass. The Intros are always amazing. This is probably my favorite yet, even topping CiMS. Sweet Guitar Solo too. I never really liked Closer to the Truth as much as CiMS. CttT had a really sweet intro though. Lyrics are pretty darn awesome too. They used Hell, so I'm wondering what the Lego vers will have. As a song, I think it tops CiMS. Hm, So there's been like 7 Bionicle/Lego songs, minus already existing songs like Move Along and Crashed: Hero - AIK Caught up in a Dream - AIK CiMS - Cryoshell Face Me - Niels Brinck/Cryoshell Gravity Hurts - Niels Brinck/Cryoshell CttT - Cryoshell BBB - Cryoshell. Hero and Caught up in a dream had some vague yet connected lyrics. I liked AIK too. CiMS was pretty darn awesome, I really liked the piano in the beginning, and the relatively slow tempo worked well, without dragging on. Face Me was forgettable Gravity Hurts had pretty bad lyrics IMO, relation was much to obvious. >.> CttT better than the last two, but still something felt iffy about it. Maybe it was the slow bits and emptiness in the middle. BBB Lively, fun and fast, I really like it. EDIT: Transcribing lyrics, went to Bionicle.com to check if it was out, and I found this nonsense. The collage/posters are pretty tacky, in my opinion. >.> EDIT 2: Here's what I can get, if anyone can help that'd be great. Release... Let me take on eternity Taking one more step And let it rip through me I'm building up my nerves, So you can wish me well Or you can wish me hell. From time will fall[?] Bye bye Babylon! One screeching bird, A sun.[?] You're taking everyone So don't you know, You don't belong Bye Bye Babylon! Now scattered you alone [?] We're burning in the sun We better be... Bye Bye Babylon begone! Bfahome Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 I like this song. I also <3 that we get an instrumental version. Quote
Rover1 Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 I'm not sure if this is the right place to post about this, but I picked up the Titan Mata Nui from Toy's R' Us today, and I'm honestly quite surprised at how much I like him. I got him with intent to fill in his torso a bit and beef up his arms, but after looking at him in person there's really no need. I'm also liking how he bears many similarities to the canister version like the bell-bottom ankle armor (handled MUCH better on the titan) and the far more proportionate limbs. The multi-colored look is actually good in my opinion, since it highlights a lot of the complex build without looking too slapped together. I may do a picture review of the completed figure for you guys sometime later tonight, since all this is just my opinion, and your milage may vary. P.S. - Since price was a point of contention, let me point out he was $50 for 366 pieces. Quote
Shine Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 Pretty good song. I'm glad Lego's finally found a decent band to represent Bionicle. Kinda surprised to see "hell" again, though. BZP is gonna freak. Quote
The Iron Knight Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 BZP is gonna freak. Yup. But it'll be humorous to see it happen. I'm not into Cryoshell at all, but it's a decent song for a band I don't like.... Still wonder what happened to AIK, they were actually kinda' cool. Quote

My kind of music. :D Eh, what can I say - I'm not really an expert on music or anything. I thought since it obviously wasn't soft rock, then it had to be something else, but all that came to my mind was "hard rock." Even when I said that though, I realized that something wasn't right, because general hard rock is REALLY hard, and Cryoshell is not. Sure, other sets have looked far better in person than in official artwork, but in this case, there's going to have to be such a huge difference between that and the actual Titan Mata Nui set when seen in person. And IMO, that's about as likely to happen as Darth Vader acknowledging a secret love for Tarix and Jinzo switching to K-nex as his building toy of choice. Edited July 20, 2009 by Grevious Quote
