Well, in this pic, Mata Nui's sword looks like it's a bit bigger than Tuma's. It pretty much the same set wise, so it's accurate, even if it does look to big for him. =P

Well that's a movie picture. :P Of course there's some scaling and stuff.

Ackar's sword is pretty big for his size, but looking at pictures, the Jaller Mahri blade is much bigger than Ackar's flame.

I'm going agree with Front here, the Jaller blade looks big on most canisters already, adding a huge hilt would make it oversized for a regular canister.

That seems like the type of sword I've used for my mocs. Big a$$ swords rule.

very much so! three-handed swords FTW!!! On Topic: If anyone wants to make a convincing Click shield, try putting a Visorak minifig in the center. It looks pretty cool.

bawwww I need some of those mini Visorak ;_;

Maybe I can ask my friend if I can buy his. Of course, this is if I can get in touch with him. And if I get Mata Nui. >.>

I've got heaps of them, if you're interested. If you can get a Fero & Skrimix New Edition I'd love to trade for a Visorak and some other stuff you want, including a (non-piece count and warnings covered) Mata Nui set because...

The Legends and Cendox are appearing in New Zealand finally. The problem is that it's going to be really hard to find any sets larger than them, because they're so expensive that most stores in NZ have decided not to get them in, and the ones that they do will be very limited. According to S@H, Thornatus is slightly more expensive than Axalara was, and Skopio is around 150% off what Axalara was!

What shops? And are they the same price as the winter Glatorian? Never mind found the prices

Heh, Mata Nui reminds me of Lhikan now.

Well, I went out yesterday and found the Legends at a Walmart, second time seeing them in stores, >.>

I grabbed Stronius, instead of Ackar or MN. Here's a mini-review, I have no access to a camera here, and a review topic without pictures feels awkward.

--------------

Stronius is great, no doubts about it. His look emanates a "Bash-now-question-later" character.

And if you think about it, looking at just the sets, he's the only one that actually gives off a character that matches.

You wouldn't know Ackar was a champion, or Kiina was the aggressive crazy-nut she is, just by looking at them.

Stronius has the lovely armor parts too. :3 They're new, and well designed. I already have some uses for them in MOCs in my head. Club pieces are great too.

The spiky scheme just works altogether. I do wish he had some spiky Inika feet, but I'm not sure how they will look compared to the mostly "dull spikes" that cover Stronius. I'll take a picture of him with those once I get home.

I'm sure all/most of you read Shan's review and LewaLew [He's still alive apparently. :o] rebuttal on BZP.

I agree with Shan that the armor piece moved up a notch looks better, but Lego did not do it like that for a reason.

It is because his head moves up a stud in placement, and he loses some of his short, stocky and bulky look.

But the shoulder gaps disappear, and the loss of that stud down is fine.

The Vorox-type neck is fine.

Thanks to his mask [That wonderful wonderful mask], he can even look up, without looking like a giraffe.

The mask is great, although it may not be as commonly used in Glatorian [or agori], I see some "creature" or rahi that can use it well.

I'm a little miffed they used a bley Inika torso. It's covered well in the front, and pretty good in the back, but it's still visible.

I found it interesting they used two technic pinjoiners, to keep the chest armor separated from the body. It's a light Gray though, which is kind of sad.

The usual problems with light gray axles, Mata red 2 axles and bushel with pins still exists, although it is minor, and doesn't stick out, thanks to the dark red, black color scheme.

His chest is gappy, a problem fixed with a black Metru torso and a pin I think. I'm fine with the lack of upper arm armor. I feel that it would either kill the dark red too much or stop the articulation short.

All in all, Stronius is a great set.

Pros:

  • Glorious mask, armor and 2 piece club that match well. [Count as 3, if you will]
  • New[?] Dark red pieces
  • Overall look is very menacing.[?list]
    Cons:
    • Bley Inika Torso
    • Light Gray pieces
    • Mata Red stuff
    • Gap in Chest armor.

All the cons are minor, easy fixes.

Stronius is great fun. I really do suggest him to all of you. I don't have any Legends to compare him with, but as a single set, he's pretty darn amazing.

If you see my review of Stronius here on EB, you will see that I placed the torso armor one module too high by intuition, when I rebuilt him. I only realised that after I posted the review.

I don't understand your view of the possible head/neck movements when that armor is placed high. I still think he can have his head placed nicely down between the two shoulder armors.

I have a feeling that the armor has been placed in the low position in the building instructions and all other graphic material, by a mistake. I think the designer Dave actually wanted the armor placed in the top position.

In my option, armor looks better when placed down like in instructions. When placed up, waist just looks way too thin. And there isn't gap between head and chest if the head is down.

Oh, that's an interesting fact there Front. :oh:

And about the head movement, I was trying to say that if the armor is moved up one axle, then the head has to rest a bit higher on the raised armor, than what it says in the instructions.

It's just one stud of a difference, and it isn't that big.

In my option, armor looks better when placed down like in instructions. When placed up, waist just looks way too thin. And there isn't gap between head and chest if the head is down.

I meant that if it's like the one in the instructions, there's a gap in the shoulder/armpit area. With it moved a notch up, all the armor meshes together.

I want there to be prototype pieces of Metus' shield that have the blended silver replaced with white. I also want them to be in my possession.

Also, due to things, at the moment I'm really only considering getting Mata Nui.

I would strongly suggest otherwise.

He isn't that great. =/

Edit: On an off topic note, I finally caved and got Taka 08 full price. I missed the Legoshop sale, Amazon won't ship it here, and sales at stores on this island are few and far between. Even for the $35 price tag (there's an extra charge here) he's worth it, I think. He looks cool and has lots of good pieces... my only qualms are the bleh upper torso and the completely bare back...

Eh, I don't care. I'm mainly interested in some parts, the Ignika, the possible humor aspect, and the fact that he's Mata Nui.

Lol I go for looks, overall design and pieces.

Bunda, Wal Mart had them for $20. Dunno what the shipping is to you, but still. D:

And BFA, so then one side of the Metus Shield would be all sliver basically then. :P

Which would be pretty useful.

Part-wise, Mata Nui comes with both of the less specific new Legends pieces - The new sockets and the ankle guards, as well as his sword in two colours, another Ignika, a blue head and plenty of recolored Yellow-Orange parts.

Set-wise he's pretty nawesome as well, although some other Legends do look better than him.

Storyline-wise he's Mata Nui, as well as the leader of this year's good guys.

He's definitely the first on my list, and I'll most likely get him this weekend. :classic:

Whilst Mata Nui does have over proportioned arms, I find it remedied through a slightly complicated measure. Use the upper arms from Toa Ignika as Mata-Nui's upper arm, and then place a triple length Axel through the friction pin hole. Attach two double length connectors to each side of the Axel. I honestly do not know the name of the piece, but place the piece used as the 01' Turagas necks into the space between the connectors, and lock it into place with another axle. Then put the Shoulder Armor on to the neck piece, as I call it. I personally do onto own Mata-Nui, and do not know how this will look.

One string of words for you. Worst. Monkeyarms. Ever.

Have you met my friend Kiina?

I know Mata Nui's are longer and goofy, but something about Kiina's arms in conjunction with her build drive me far crazier.
