Thanks very much to a friend of another forum who finded this.

It looks more like a Vladek sword- which I fortunately have.

Combining these two thoughts leads me to believe that Ackar's sword in the movie is able to catch fire like the sword in the set.

Also, there's really no evidence of elemental powers being involved yet.

Still like the overall look.

I really hope the movie doesn't become cheesy [but it's always likely], and no elemental powers. D:

And is it just me, or is Ackar's stance in the pic with Kiina really awkward?

Elemental Powers are almost inevitable. Comon, all Glatorian of Bara Magna stood no chance against the Skrall in Atero. Mata Nui now being there, unexperienced as he is, really wouldn't make a difference against the Skrall, unless he can give the Glatorian an edge: either recharge their elemental weapons with the Ignika (Greg said it is possible), give them Toa powers with the Ignika (Greg said it is possible), or master the Ignika and become a Toa of Life (also possible). But without any of that them winning against the Skrall? That's unrealistic and unbelievable, given Atero's fall.

What I also like is Berix in the company of Mata Nui's team. I was hoping for an Agori helping along in the fight, and it seems my wish got granted.

I have a red one, so it's perfect. Unfortunately, I don't think it fits in the MN Shield piece, so it'll be slightly inaccurate.

I'm pretty sure any elemental powers will be in moderation.

And it should be noted that, even if they gain elemental powers, the Glatorian are not used to them, so they probably won't be able to use it like the Toa did. Personally, I would find it interesting to see how they cope with and learn to handle their new elemental powers should they gain them. Wouldn't it be ironic? Mata Nui having to learn to be powerless, the Glatorian having to learn to be powerful.

Notice how Ackar's sword in the in this pic looks more set-form like, and Kiina's trident doesn't have those swirly things around her trident. Also, how in the world did Gresh become shorter than Mata Nui? O_o

Well, Gresh is standing a bit further away than Mata Nui, so it could just be perspective...

But then again, Gresh and Berix are standing pretty much right next to each other, and Berix reaches up to Gresh's shoulder.

EDIT: Also, some things on the Glatorian Legends commercial: Ackar has set accurate sword, and Kiina has those tubes around her trident.

TWO THINGS that nearly ruin the movie for me, without having seen the movie. SCREWS. and LOINCLOTHS.

But I like the way everything is aged.

And Strakk looks frightening in that picture. I guess it's from the previous week's preview, that I missed, because Bionicle.com wasn't working and then I forgot about it. XD

I agree- the loincloths are a little out of place, and the screws make them look too mechanical.

As for the screws... What, should they have used spinning plusrods instead? I prefer the spinning screws to the spinning pins, actually.

All in all, nothing worth calling the movie (almost) ruined for, imho.

I would rather not see anything. I like that the movie models are more set accurate, but I wish they would smooth things out more so it wasn't so obviously a Lego set, you know? You can see all the pin holes... and the pins in them... it just doesn't do it for me.

Hey, I always thought it was a cool alt model.

Didn't fit, but still looked cool. >.>

Oh, and I think that the open mouth for Gresh looks cool, he just doesn't seem buff in that latest pic though. D:

Well, we'll have to wait for the movie to see how he looks with the wonky arms and mask.

At the time of seeing that alternate model for the first time, I desperately hoped that it was non-canon, but that ended when I saw it had been put up on Biosector. So much for the "no-wheels in bionicle" rule....
