~Wrack'n'Ruin~ Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 I'm not joking. A motorcycle driven by a shapshifting vampire-bat spirit that's trying to take over the world is way cooler then spindly bug things and various recycled technic parts mounted on tank-treads. Quote

The Alchemyst Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 -Has urge to copypaste from Wikipedia- Bionicle is just a story about various heroes fighting off various evils. ._. You can't define it my one thing, whether it be Tahu, Mata Nui [Maybe, kinda...], or the Destral Cycle. The Nostalgia of 2001 is... kind of silly. ._. The most it gave us were sweet masks, the Mata Head, weapons and the Mata Feet. Take a random kid off the street and let him choose a modern set or a 2001 set. I'll bet more times than not, he'll pick the modern sets. In terms of story, I suppose characters, and a beginning, but the story, I feel, wasn't really fleshed out until 2003, and barely then. The action really started around 2006, with this large encompassing arc. [-TA-] Quote
Omicron Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 Also anybody recall the Ussanui? That was Bionicle's first thing to a motorcycle, and we all praised that shit, and quite frankly it was awesome. And motorcycles are way better. That is the one thing I will buy this year from Bionicle. -Omi Quote
jala12 Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 Yes, the Kaxium is quite awesome. I hope it will appear somewhere in the movie, whether in a cameo shot in Tajun or in an action scene. Action scene would be too much to hope for though. Most certainly we wouldn't be getting anything like the outrageous chopper chase scene in Advent Children, lol. Quote

It had that creative BIONICLE "edge" that meant it didn't just look like a real-world vehicle built out of BIONICLE parts. Aside from the Chirox blade and the extra back wheels, the Destral Cycle is an everyday motorbike built out of Jetrax parts. As for the Kaxium, the impression that I get from review is that it looks great as long as the figures are on the bikes, otherwise the entire set looks hollow and empty. Quote

Usually a vehicle tends to be hollow and empty when there are no occupants. -Omi Quote

But hey, I shouldn't be stopping you from buying it, seeing as I'm going to buy it aswell anyway. Edited August 12, 2009 by 3D Brickthing Quote

Have you looked a Technic set lately? Those are filled with holes, and nobody complains about those. Bionicle is no different. -Omi Quote

Holes are holes. Big or small, it is a hole. I think you guys just find shit to complain about because you have nothing better to do. Saying a bike looks empty because the riders are not on it is a stupid way to call a set shitty. And Kaxium is 3d and most likely solid. :P -Omi Quote

Saying a bike looks empty because the riders are not on it is a stupid way to call a set shitty. Bikes in real life are meant to look good whether there is a person on it or not. All of the 2008 vehicles looked good on display when the figure was standing next to them, so it's a fair complaint that the Kaxium doesn't look good without it's drivers. And Kaxium is 3d and most likely solid. :P Quote
~Wrack'n'Ruin~ Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 Who the hell cares? It's an engine bolted on a haphazard scavenged frame connected to something that rotates that goes Vroom and takes you from point A to point B. You guys are worse then Transformers fans, seriously. Quote

It's these conversations that closed the old 2009 topic, and we won't have another one if this one closes, or even futher action could be taken. If you don't want to hear peoples complaints about sets, don't read them. People are free to explain their thoughts on things, for it's the criticism that helps lego improve on their mistakes. And, "big or small, it's a hole?" It maybe so, but in terms of a set, that makes a difference. A small hole like on Mata Nui's toso can be fixed with a simple pin. Something like Kaxium that requires major modifications isn't a good thing, nor tolerable. I wouldn't like to pay a set that is $30 only to get something poorly made, would you? Regards, -VBBN Quote
Phantoka_Chirox Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 (edited) Well, no actually. A spamfest closed the other topic. Thanks anyway VBBN :P And this is where I make my own comment about the Kaxium. The kaxium is generally a tolerable vehicle but if drivers are to be remove, the set itself could be quite eye soreing. But seing the low tech in Bara Magna, it does make sense. As said by Wrack, "It's just an engine bolted on a haphazard scavenged frame connected to something that rotates that goes Vroom and takes you from point A to point B." And storytime!!: 1st, we talk about wheels in bionicle, then Omi decides to buy a kaxium yeaay, then we get in his way and tell him how bad kaxium is which results in members talking about (and slightly fighting about) kaxium being bad or good. You guys take things too seriously Edited August 12, 2009 by Phantoka_Chirox Quote
VBBN Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 Well, no actually. A spamfest closed the other topic. Thanks anyway VBBN :P A flame war closes topics just as easily. ;] You know, Skopio brings a good element into Bionicle-transformations. If they can make a good transforming bionicle year, I would like. But I'm sure lots of people would also hate it... But think about it. With Baramagna we get lots of elemental things, imagine a fire falcon turning into a fire Glatorian? Somehow that would rock. Or a water serpant turning into a Tajun warrior. Quote
Phantoka Kopaka Nuva Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 After seeing Mata Nui doing a Lhikan move, I so want him now. At first, I was planning to get Tarix, but now Mata Nui changed my mind. Now I have to think of a mod so Mata Nui can store his sword on his back. Any ideas, guys? Quote
The Dor Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 Woo just got Kaxium and Thornatus at Toys R Us. They are both way too awesome :D Quote
-MZ- Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 I do agree that the Kaxium looks a little empty without the riders, plus they blend too much with the actual vehicles. They could've improved the coloring, IMO. Not that I would buy it anyway, since I'm a struggling college student. :P Quote
