Can Calyx Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 I've decided that the only set I'll buy full price this year is Titan Mata Nui. Any news as to price or release window? Quote

---Vertea--- Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Judging by his size, I say he's at least $30. hopefully! Because despite the HUGE parts score, I wouldn't pay over thirty. Fortunately, though, it looks to be about the price of last years "takanuva", but with better parts. Quote

Unfortunately it's a store exclusive, which means $5-10 extra depending on which store gets it. Quote
Bundalings Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Unfortunately it's a store exclusive, which means $5-10 extra depending on which store gets it. Nocturn was $15 USD. But that was two years ago... ~Bunda Quote
The Alchemyst Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Nocturn was $15 USD.But that was two years ago... ~Bunda And I have to say, Nocturn was one of the best Store Exclusives. And the only store I've seen with excessive prices regularly is TRU. The only Target with raised prices in my area is one large one downtown. The other Target farther away has lowered prices, similar to that of Walmart. And you can probably order it off S@H or a Lego Store. [-The Alchemyst-] Quote
---Vertea--- Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 And I have to say, Nocturn was one of the best Store Exclusives. YES. And I'm glad to have purchased him. Glow-in-the darks, recolours, lime green, and an overall awesome build, he was well worth the price. Quote
Bfahome Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 I want Nocturn soooo badly. ;_; He's like General Grievous but less robot-y, greener, and stupid. Quote
JINZONINGEN73 Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 To clarify upon my post from the first page... I want the canister Mata Nui a whole lot more now, not that icky-lookin' titan monstrosity of eye-stabbity pain. ::runs off again:: *WHOOSH!* Quote

JINZO ran away! DANGIT!!!! Yes, titan Mats is dreadful, but those parts are awful attractive... ...where's Antrozek do draw an attractive piece? @Bfahome: what???? first off, Nocturn is the Bionicle equivalent of Grievous(set-wise), second, NOTHING is comparable to Grieveous-at least the animated one that kicked megablox. The movie one was LAME. yeah... two seconds of sabers, ten minutes of monowheel, another two seconds to blast his chest open. WTF, mate? Although it really is horrible to let you go without that set- it really was a fine piece of work-for only fifteen bucks!!! If ever I find an extra for sale, you'll be the first to know! Quote
Bundalings Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 *throws poke'ball*JINZO escaped! JINZO used teleport! JINZO ran away! DANGIT!!!! Jinzo is a Gardevoir? (Shoulda used a Dusk Ball.) Yeah, Nocturn was sweet. Whatever happened to epic store exclusives? There was a good run there, Kardas, Nocturn, Karzahni was good for parts... then Icarax which was okay for pieces, then Mutran which was awesome... but the two this year have been terrible sets. (Granted, I don't own either, but they look awful.) ~Bunda Quote
Brickthing Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 I recently spotted a Nocturn on top of some shelves at a shop. I asked a shop attendant to bring it down so I could check it was Nocturn. I lol'd that it was the same price as the Glatorian on sale. I didn't get it though, because I've already got 1.5 of him, but next time I went to the store he was no longer there for obvious reasons. That's kinda weird, seeing as this is the 2009 discussion. Nocturn was the first of my '07 titans, and he was worth the price. Sadly, he's now disassembled, and I used his pieces for other things. You know, once we get back to the MU, there's a possibility that Takanuva will once again be re-released. If that happens, how would you like the new Takanuva? Huge giant or Toa on vehicle? Quote
Zip Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 (edited) Last year I found Nocturn at a TJ Maxx for $7.99 USD. Sadly, my parents wouldn't let me buy it. And I don't want another Takanuva. Lego's already done a good job with him twice, don't want them to screw it up the next time. But it'd be nice if some of the combiners like the Shadowed one would be made into brand new sets. VBBN Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 Wel, I got Nocturn for 7.48. :] And if Takks is remade, I want him to be toa-size. You don't know how awkward it is to have this big honkin' thing sitting around. I need to sell him. v_v Quote

The only parts I want are the white claws, the pohatu propeller arm things, and the Takadox heads. Quote

VBBN Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 Getting a little off topic here, aren't we? Anywho, relating to 2009, To anyone with the Legends, how are their joints? Strong like the Glatorian Winter sets or like 2008?(weak) Quote

Teh piece quality seems improved. Quote

KimT Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 Good to see that you're back on topic here. I was just about to put the hammer down on the Nocturn discussion and then you fixed it yourselves. Since I've been lurking this place for the past weeks, I've taken a liking to the new tan Bionicle sets. (No idea about the names) The smaller one looks like a scorpion and I am getting one to MOD for my Castle army. Hopefully I'll do good and post it here for comments and ideas. Quote

Yeah, Zesk (the little one) is one of my favorite sets ever. The big one (Vorox) isn't quite as cool, but still great for parts. Seeing tan again was great. ~Bunda Quote

Kinda irritating, though, that those are just helmets... it would be cooler story-wise to have those be faces. Quote

Zesk are pretty cute and all that but they're just basically Agori. :\ And I am personally glad that they are helmets, it makes the Vorox more like the Glatorian, which makes more sense considering they were of the same species only a couple generations ago, if that. I'm a little curious as to how the Vorox would have changed so much anatomically in such a short period of time (for them xD) Quote
