Simply outstanding! I will love to have this great minifig added into my collection. It's really very unexpected and the shine is so beautiful.

It's a pity, and this shall be another set that will be extremely hard to get over here.

I'm hoping for a chrome Taun-taun next year for the ESB anniversary. Nice review, by the way.

Why not a minifig-scaled chrome Rancor?!

You don't like the silver stormtrooper magnet, do you?

A silver stormie doesn't make much sense, but it sure is nice to look at! :sweet: This would go nicely with my EB Stormie! I really hope that these will be available in Lego Stores outside of Legoland.

What does the helmet look like from underneath? Is it silver on the inside as well?

It just dawned on me... this will add a whole new range of chrome minifig parts to the ever growing "Museum of the Absurd" that I'm building by trying to get every part in every colour ever.

I hope this isn't the last we see if this idea. This is exactly how to do it TLG, much better than random package insertion. Thank you! :sweet:

This may sound weird, but did you base the name of the "Museum of the Absurd" on the short story, "The Museum of Ordinary People"? Just wondering.

This question might be a little stupid, but does it function exactly like a regular minifig? Well, except chrome.

Yes, it does.

I think that this was one of the best things LEGO ever did for LEGO Star Wars customers. A chrome stormie for only $13? That's an amazing deal.

Now I can only hope that this appears in LEGO Stores and becomes a real LEGO product that will be available around the world. :sweet:

I actually like it! Since I live in Europe, I never got my fingers on a 3PO or Vader (and I'd rather go with an Endor set than a 3PO for the same price) but I am interested. Even more since this is not the "final" or "perfect" version of a minifig, but more a nice idea to celebrate. Something funny, extravagant, special and a bit ridiculous. Just hope it comes to Europe. :sceptic:

THANKS a lot for the sharp pictures!

nice one! you will leave the figure sealed? would be the best thing to ensure the possible bigger value.

lego should release some limited [2000 pieces] clonetrooper figure variants!

To bad they didn't wait a year before producing this figure. A shiny exclusvive every year is fine by me, but this one seems to come very soon after the Darth Vader.

The anoying thing about it that there is always group of collectors who has a very hard time getting one of these "exclusives"

It also looks a litle to mush like an artificial attempt to catch collectors. Lego is going Hasbro and I wonder were it will end.

I actually think Lego has been quite crafty and made moves to defeat the ebay trade. Nobody gains from the ebayers who charge say £20 for a normal individual minifig or stocks up on these exclusives to rip the genuine collectors off. By releasing much easier to get hold of exclusives and rarer figures in magnet/battlepack form they reduce the opportunity for crazy prices as genuine collectors can by reasonbly priced items with the profit going to TLG. I actually take my hat off to Lego for this policy though I do wish they would sort the regional variance in availability of both exclusives and normal sets as this still seems unfair.

These are already up on Bricklink for sale(at 2x the normal price might I add  )

Bricklink Page

And, there's one seller that has 26 of these... :sceptic:

Being a completionist it's always bothered me that I could never "reasonably" obtain Chrome C-3PO or Darth Vader. Heck, I would've appreciated a Magnet 3-pack with the 3 Chromies to celebrate the 10th Anniversary :)

Might I ask who rated this as poor? First of all, everyone, literally the entire world loves OT, so you've gotta be crazy not to like a stormie! I just don't understand, what's so bad about it?

People are entitled to their own opinions without sharing the reasons behind it.

On the other side if someone deems something extremely bad or good, I think it would be better for him to explain why.
