Posted June 10, 200915 yr This is the MOC I built based on these books: http://www.randomhouse.com/kids/edgechronicles/ The series is a cross between Pirates and Steampunk complete with flying ships and floating rock cities. This is also my first attempt at building anything in Miniscale. The MOC is based on this picture from the site: The names of the places are written on the map but it's a little small so I'll explain. The floating city is called "Sanctaphrax", the city under that is "Undertown", and to the left is "The Stone Gardens" Overal The rock that the city is built on is tethered to the ground by a chain and the entire setting is on the edge of the world (hence the name). The Stone Gardens This is where the stones grow and gain boyancy. Eventually they will be used to give ships boyancy or even replace the floating rock that Sanctaphrax is built on. Undertown This is where the average citizens live. I'm still not really happy about this though so does anyone have any suggestions? Sanctaphrax This is where the academics live and study in the academies. There is also a docking station for the floating ships. View from the rock This is the view from the highest tower looking down onto Undertown. I might add The Mire, Twilight Woods, and Deepwoods later but this is all for now. I would recommend these books to everyone and they are a great source of insparation if you are looking for something to build.C+C are appreciated.

Ya thats pretty much it, the world just ends like a cliff and beyond that is clouds and nothingness. I love where the sidewalk ends Shell Silverstiene is my favorite poet.
June 10, 200915 yr Nice job already. I think if you add a row of two studs just to the city and built the rock more downward it would even be better. And when you add the mire and the twilightwoods it would look great.
June 10, 200915 yr Nice job! I agree with L-Space, the design is cool but the rock would be better a bit higher and more downward Edited June 10, 200915 yr by BlueBard

June 11, 200915 yr Fantastic! I'm so glad I've got to see this. :D Can't wait to see the Mire and the Twilight Woods.
June 11, 200915 yr Great work...you've really got a lot of detail in microscale. Looking forward to your other creations. I'll get to work on some stuff when I return from Brickworld 2009. -Dave ToT-LUG
