or maybe even the dreaded PEBKAC.

The what now?

Anyway, I was thinking, what if it's because most members that aren't a certain rank shouldn't be in the Reviewer's Academy because of one thing; it's under the "Administration Forum" of the board. Wouldn't you think only Admins and Mods should really be there?

Hey, but I'm just guessing. A rather confusing guess at that.

That shouldn't do it... but it is something you have in common. Even so, I find it hard to see how it could happen due to this. Does it happen in all forums? If it happens only in the Academy it could be a skin glitch... and I don't visit the Academy much so that would explain why I don't notice it.

What does that have to do with the acronym?

I'll go try to edit my Camper review in the Trains and Town forum and I'll get back to you in a minute.

Curse it all! It still happens in the other forums! :oh3:

You know how we have tags, well I thought we could have a tag for every kind of forum. Like if you tend to contribute to the historic forum a lot you get a historic tag, if you tend to contribute to the technic forum you get a technical badge and so on. Its just a thought.

This has been considered and I for one am very for it. The biggest issue is it's more work for the staff.... :sing:

If it did happen it would have a limitation like "Only for members of over 18 months and 100 posts".

I remember I've had this problem since I joined EB and posted reviews. :sceptic: Even on Internet Explorer, it happens. I fairly sure there is no virus (I've got AVG, NOD32, and some other spyware and adaware programs). It could be a plugin, but I wouldn't know how to find out which one. It's not a big deal, though. It really doesn't annoy me much. :classic:

I've been discussing this with other staff and I think it's a skin issue. As EBs resident bug slayer it's my duty and privilege to find and fix it.

Arghhh!

I like the 18 months part, but there are some people with nearly 3000 posts, and they probably have more than 100 posts in every forum. I think it needs to be a title, cross moc expert with out the expert part. They would also probably need to be part of the talkitive topics which involve new series and other related things to that topic. Well thats only in mu opinion.

I've got AVG, Norton Ghost, and I think a few others. Plus, the only sites I got to are BrickLink, Reasonably Clever, IMDb, Wikipedia, and Eurobricks. So I doubt I got a virus from any of those. Especially from the dedication of our walrus bug-slayer.

You get 'em Siegfried! ... I'll be here in my foldable chair and eating popcorn.

Some people post little, but when they do they make up for it. I have around 9000 posts but it doesn't mean that I'm 90 times a better member than a 100 poster. But this is all hypothetical anyway.

That's a great idea  ! It would be useful to newer members, and to members who don't usually venture in to other forums as a way of letting them know who they can ask questions to, when the staff and fellows aren't online.

So get another staff member that can only hand out these tags  .

 That's easier said than done. We can be quite picky when adding staff and it's hard to find suitible members.

(N.B. Asking for a position is not a good tactic for anyone who wants to be staff. )

I also have that scrolling to the top glitch. Whenever I use two font-changes (such as bold and color) on one section of words, the text box scrolls to the top (if the text box scrolls due to a long post). I use the latest version of Mozilla Firefox. This isn't a huge problem, but it would be nice if I could update indexes and such without re-scrolling and searching through text and codes.

And I agree that all of the theme forums should have a special tag. So far SW and Pirates have one, but other forums should, too. Especially the History forum; there are so many people who post great stuff (MOCs) there.

Came back from my trip yesterday, and I'm disappointed to find out that an away status hasn't been implemented yet ( ).

The badge idea is a good one, though isn't the "Most active in" part of your profile kind of the same thing?

This is more of a complaint, the new skin for the forum index and train tech are the same, and its irritating me. I keep getting confused where I am. Can we get a new skin for the forum index?

I would imagine that this is deliberate to celebrate the launch of the Train Tech forum - since August is officially Train month at EB!

Svelte is correct.

This is to mark the celebration, of Eurobricks Train Month, for the month of August. :classic:

Oh its not as annoying anymore, anyway I'm quite enjoying the new Train Tech Forums. Thanks for anyone that helped.

I have no complaints about this site. I think the Moderators, Fellows and Staff in general do a tremendous job at keeping this forum clean, friendly and tidy. :classic: Bravo sirs!

After reading the first few posts, I apologize if my 'Favourite Food' thread was considered to be immature. I just thought it would be a nice topic to talk about and a good way to get to know others members a bit more. I never meant for it to be silly. :cry_sad:

I am also fan of shorter posts if they truly represent the opinion of the poster.

I believe that shorter posts attract more attention and people will in most cases read it whole.

Also, do not see nothing wrong in posting something like: Hey great MOC, I like this part.

I prefer shorter posts, and adding question or some sort of non-offensive advice, like: Hey great MOC, I like this part, do you plan to make that part on that spot? Maybe you should put that here.

It certainly keep topic more fluid and attractive, and guy who started the topic has nice feeling of being creator of something which attract attention.

Also, what is the point in getting higher post count? People always seek for respect. Does someone who has 1000 posts is more respected than someone who has 100? Maybe, and yet maybe not if 100-post person has instant recognizability among the forum, either for its MOCs or for its respective replies.

For me it is best for average member to have mediocre post count and well-known and trusted username with good amount of effort behind him, which is a recipe for respect.

No names...but I know a few members who's largest percentage of their posts are in greetings. I think that's really useless, and just takes up bandwidth. I think that in greeting topics members should have to comment on something about what the new member said, other wise it's just wasting space.

I've got a question, and I'm sure there's a thread for it, but I can't find it currently.

Is there a way to send out a massive PM? Like to multiple members?

Posted (edited)

Ouch.

I suggest we dis-disable it. :tongue;

I guess I'll have to do it the old fashion way. Can I ask why this is disabled though?

EDIT: Actually I'm fairly sure I've gotten a PM before, from the Brickster, that was sent to a number of members at once. Is it just for Staff?
