Rick Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 (edited) Nice, simple, but detailed enough (seems to be your trademark). I also like the scale of the building, kind of 'Town-plan-ish' scale, and they could also be left open-backed. (edit: woohoo, 300 posts) Edited August 25, 2009 by Rick Quote
aawsum Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 Nice MOC, detailed en complete. I like the colorscheme you used, it is a bit refreshing I am not sure where this will fit exactly in your layout, but maybe the back of the building could do some extra windows, and maybe a back door ... Quote
BlueBard Posted August 25, 2009 Author Posted August 25, 2009 Thanks! I am not sure where this will fit exactly in your layout, but maybe the back of the building could do some extra windows, and maybe a back door ... Oh, I undestand what you propose but at the back the walls are covered by another building until the arch (it's going to be another building at the end of each street part), that's why the only window is in that corner Quote
Teddy Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 (edited) Hi BlueBard, that is a really cool green cafe corner you designed. The colors are "star bucks"-esque. Good idea to put other buildings next to and behind it, that way your main concern is the front facade of the buildings. Kind regards, Teddy Edited August 25, 2009 by Teddy Quote

My plan is to have a block of buildings with great facades and shops in the exterior and a common courtyard in the middle for all of them. The problem with this one was that I needed it really thin and large to exactly fit in the right place so the back had to be very simple Quote
prateek Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 The actual global economic situation (so my personal one too ) doesn't lend me to spent 150€ in the magnificent CafeCorner I needed for achieving my never-ending City Display , so I've finally decided to design some kind of little and "thin" green cafe corner to fill the corner gap of my block of buildings. A little purchase from BL and it will be done Here are de LDD designs, hope you like it! On the roof you should use 1x4x1 fence pieces instead of the 1x4x1 wall pieces. It''ll look more detailed than before. Quote

Of course, but I've a laaaarge amount of black wall pieces and no fence one BTW, I like to inspire some people in their MOCs but I think this guy here was a bit too "inspired" by my Post Office..., wasn't he? What do you think? Edited August 26, 2009 by BlueBard Quote

Thank you, I'm glad you like it Big Cam because I'm becoming some kind of MOC interior freak lately Quote
Rick Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 I saw the rip-off on Brickshelf and thought it somehow was your Brickshelf-gallery... ah well, at least people think you make cool stuff and reproduce it. Some credit would have been nice though. Quote
Thee Pirate Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Imitation is the highest form of flattery? Mmmmm Guinness. The beer of champions. Comments are allways welcome! Quote
BlueBard Posted August 31, 2009 Author Posted August 31, 2009 I'll have to take it as flattery then Thanks for viewing Quote
BlueBard Posted September 3, 2009 Author Posted September 3, 2009 I need your advice for a little detail in the "Cafe Corner" I'm building, people. At the back, it's going to be connected to the little courtyard of the Flower Shop and I've two options for it: a single arch or a door (not necessarily the one of the pic). What's the better option in your opinion? Thanks! Quote
Vaders_son Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Well what I asked myself is how does that part of the cafe look from the front? I guess you don't use a door there? IMO it would look better without a door, especially a glass door like the one you used doesn't fit at this place if you ask me. Benny Quote
Big Cam Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Thank you, I'm glad you like it Big Cam because I'm becoming some kind of MOC interior freak lately LOL, I have no idea why it posted my sentence twice but I just re-looked at the pics and they are still amazing. Quote

At first I thought at putting some kind of fence door but there was not enough place, actually as you can see in previous pics the "corridor" is going to be really small so I'm not so sure on putting a door there, specially because there's going to be a lot of plants in the courtyard But I think I'll wait for some more advices before taking a decision but thanks for yours LOL, I have no idea why it posted my sentence twice but I just re-looked at the pics and they are still amazing. Thanks! Don't forget to check the rest of my MOCs if you like interiors BTW, I've been checking Kamphuuz's gallery again and this guy is really copying brick by brick other builders' MOCs I don't really care about that (actually as Thee Pirate says it's some kind of flattery?) but I think he could add a little "not my designs" as many of people do... I'm going to send him a little e-mail... Edited September 3, 2009 by BlueBard Quote
